Hi folks, i have a big problem, i think a screw came loose and felt into the vibrator of my Trinity, since yesterday i could hear the screw just shaking the phone, now i cannot anymore and the telephone stop vibrating.
I also tried an hard reset but it seems the problem is the screw??
Anyone had this problem? Is there a solution to avoid sending the telephone to repair??
Thank you all

I've had my XDAI for ages and the microphone (or whatever is in it) has just died! When just using applications and games or whatever there is sound coming out of the speaker and I can hear people speaking when taking the call. I just cant speak to them. I tried recording me when taking the call. It records like the first second if that, then crackles and doesnt record anymore. So I assume the microphone is cactus? :\
I can talk through the handsfree but I do need the microphone.
If this is the problem, easy to replace, source part etc.? Remembering Im in Australia (ho hum) and yes I do have a T-Mobile I got second hand in the states, bought it back to Australia and threw a Telstra SIM in it.
Your comments and thoughts are appreciated. Love this board, too much good info. for a newbie to absorb.
Thanks again
Michael
well if it works for a sec then the mic is prob not dead
i would try doing a reset first a soft reset and if that dont help
a hard reset
yup tried soft and hard resets. Since my post I've also tried a few ROMs etc. on it. All without any difference. Still the 1 sec. and then nothing.
Thanks for your reply but still no fix
Michael
I have heard of numerous people having problems with audio after prolonged use of handsfree headset, have you tried inserting something into the jack socket and wiggling it about a little, it could be the contact inside is problematic.
To be honest I never had a handsfree until the microphone started to play up.
I threw an old jack i have (notsure if that iswhat u meant) and gave it a jiggle. Still the same.
I've attached a recording. i say hello three times. Before I've said it the second time its dropped out. (just clarifying things)
Thanks again but still not cigar :\
bump :/
Hi everybody,
I have this one problem. After 2 days of usage, my Hermes suddenly went mute. No vibration or screen click can be heard even If I changed it to the loudest. I missed a lot of calls and sms due to this problem. The only way to solve this problem that I employ is by soft-reset my device.
I really hope somebody can help me tracking to root-cause of this problem and in the same time providing or proposing a solution to it.
Kindly help. Regards
morisa
Device: DoPoD 838Pro
did you unmute it from the speaker icon ?
if you have a backup restore it if not do a hard reset just make sure you backup your contacts/ stuff first
Phone goes mute
I think I'm having that problem too. Just out of the blue it happened. Didn't install anything extra the whole week. But when someone calls it rings, and if it's missed, it doens't play the miss call tone... or any other sound in that case.

Hi,
I noticed that the problem started to happen when I long-press the "Green" Button to activate the speakerphone during a call instead of pressing the "Speaker On" menu on the screen.
I've no idea why but maybe that could be the problem. Presently, I have to press that "Speaker On" on-screen menu to activate the speakerphone to avoid this problem.
Maybe other users can confirm this problem.

Got the same issue here and I don't use speakerphone
my pda´s auto mute so
No sound although speaker icon no in mute
I have the same problem. Out of the blue no sound is heard at all. I tried changing volume but it did not do any thing. Had to shut down (not soft reset) and restart device and it works fine. This happen several times and I can figure out why it does this.
If anyone can help...

Same here, I'm using a X01HT Softbank variant TYTN flashed with the latest HTC WWE rom and after about like 12 hours of use the device goes mute for some reason, making calls it works perfectly but playing sounds or ringers the speaker does not work. Anyone have any ideas? I'm thinking of maybe re flashing the device since most of my information is on my storage card. I'll see if that fixes the problem :-\.
same problem here....
Same here. Only a reboot fixes it.
I have the same problem but it only happens when using the speaker phone. After the call ends, then there are no more system sounds etc. I then have to soft reset, which pisses me off as I use the speaker phone plenty in the car.
If i dont use the speakerphone, then there is no problem. Kind of strange....
Has anyone got any ideas on how to solve this?
I have same problem. I thought it was software related, but seems that it is caused by the speaker phone. I had the exact same problem with my old IPAQ 6515. It must be a software issue with WM although the 6515 had WM2003SE and the TYTN has WM5 so I do not know. Really annoying though as I use this phone for an alarm and it never goes off because the sound turns off sometime while I am sleeping - Uhggggg!
I also have the problem. Only a Softreset brings the speaker back to live.
my new problem...misery loves company
same here; curiously 2 pages into this thread and there are no real solutions.
I have solved the problem on my TyTN.
The Midlet Manager is the root cause for the Phone Mute issue on my device.
lol I just started getting this issue out of the blue after a couple of months and I didn't install anything :|
yeah nothing but a soft reset brings the sound back
Happens to me too. Strange coincidence - I've just checked my m3100 and it's giving me the silent treatment now. Time for another soft reset
I never use Midlets, so that rules the above theory out for me. However my battery was almost dead. I was using WiFi at the time, which turned itself off when the warning notifications popped up. Maybe when the battery drops below an acceptable level it turns the sound off to save power, but doesn't restore it after charging?
nope it happens to me even if my battery is fully charged
this used to happen on my i-mate PDA2k, and my JasJar (Universal) running both WM5, AKU3.2, 3.3, 3.5 and unfortunately even WM6 :S
Hi All,
After checking and testing the phone. I found out that the only way for me to solve the muting problem is by silencing the notification sound when a new email arrives. Since I have an unlimited EDGE/GPRS, my push mail is working around the clock. Thus, by not having the new email sound notify, the muting problem gone. This is caused by the notification event locking up the sound and not releasing it even after I read the mail. Previously the only way to resolve is by soft-reset but now, no more.
I have no idea whether this work or not for others but you might try and post your solution here.

morisa
First of all Hi to the whole community by a new noob member.
I upgraded to WM6 thanx to you 2 weeks ago.
Now the problem :
My Tytn is mute.
No sound at all.
No ringing, no playing, no sound at all.
Can someone help me?
It worked fine till yesterday.
It has not been hitted.
I tried Soft and Hard reset, same problem.
It seems an hardware problem (I thought it was a SW problem before hard reset)
Olipro and WM6 Htc version (Italian) on board.

Do you get in-call sound?
Mike
no, no sound at all.
No ringing when i receive a call, no sound when playing back videos or songs, no music on games, no system sounds... MUTE
It seems something connected with the speakers, but the really strange thing is it worked till yesterday...

What I'm trying to get at is, is it just the rear speaker or the front earpiece as well? The things you mention use the rear speaker. If you dial your Hermes from another phone and pick up can you hear sound through the earpiece speaker?
Mike
yes, it's only the rear speker.
The earspeaker works fine.

Ok. With luck it's just the push on connector for the speaker that's come loose. Not uncommon. If you are not worried about the warranty then see here:

Mike
first of all thanx a lot for tour help.
2 more questions :
1) the phone is 3 weeks old : do tou think the problem could be the one you mention with a new cell like mine?
2) The phone is under warranty (i dont have problems opening things ) Do you think it is better to bring it to an assistance centre or not?

If it's only 3 weeks old then I would certainly get it checked under warranty. IF it's the connector then it might not have been firmly pushed on from the start. If the speaker is blown then definitely go for warranty as the speaker is not easy to get a hold of.
So although it's an easy fix just remove the back and you see the connector, it is too much to risk your warranty if it turns out to be more serious! Only problem may be returning the ROM to an acceptable one before getting a repair.
Mike
yes, this could be a problem.
I hope they will not make objection for WM6 (it's the HTC official relaease) but i think i shiul reinstalla the old bootloader, am i wrong?
is it possible ? where do i find it here ?
I'd really like to make it by myself, the problem, i think, is that the little label "void" has to broken and with it the warranty, hasn't it?
Where can i find an How TO disassemble the Tytn?
Again, thank you very much.
I've got a bit of a problem with my hermes. For quite a long while now the speakers have just not been working. The speaker for the phone works but the ringer and loudspeaker don't work. Initially after a soft reset it would work for about half an hour again and then stop working.
I don't think it's software related as I have flashed my phone a couple of times since it started.
If anyone could help me out with this at all I would be incredibly grateful as it is intensely annoying not being able to hear calls coming in.
Thanks,
Stuart
I had a similar problems with the speaker. It was because there is a cable from the speak to the mainboard that can become disconnected. I dropped my phone and the connector became lose. If you take you keyboard part of the phone apart you will see the small cable running from the speak to a port on the board, just reconnect it and it should work.
Tim is right. Do a search and it will lead you to a thread with pics so you can see how to fix it. It's a simple repair. I've had to do it twice on mine in a year.
Thanks a lot guys.
I'll try and find that.
Hi guys,
My phone's vibration randomly started making a buzz sound. I got a call in the morning, normal vibration noise (that deep buzz) then I got another one and now it sounds like an electric toothbrush. I have htorch installed... I'm not sure if that did anything or not.
Any way to fix this?
fingerkeyboard has a function to buzz and some other programs too , look around
oh with the htorch said , DONT USE IT WILL FUCC UP UR PHONE
the only problem is that I haven't changed anything on my phone. It just randomly started making a different noise
just live with it dude lol, this is the weird feature on the xperia
I had the same problem that started all of a sudden out of nowhere.
It fixed itself when i flashed a new rom. If you don't wanna do that, just do a hard reset. That should likely fix it.
Don't forget to backup your info! good luck
