Ok, so try this. The subfolders are ticked in manage folders and when you hit activesync you can see it downloading, but when you go into folders, they are empty. any ideas or has anyone even heard of this?
try going into tools - manage folders and select the folders to syncronize. The subfolders probably aren't selected

I don't know if anyone else has run into this, but I cannot find the Windows folder to do various things..... I have a feeling it has to do with Vista but I don't know....
Can anyone help me out?
You have to tell it to show hidden files and folders, and quite possibly protected OS files and folders as well. I don't remember which or both it was.
In Windows Explorer in Vista, press the alt key to show the menus, then go to Tools -> Folder Options, go to the View tab, and towards the bottom you'll see the check boxes for it.
I have already done that and it still won't show up...
Me too
Same boat as the OP. Tried showing hidden files... nothing. I have to transfer to device than copy paste.
You sure you unchecked hide protected system files as well, not just hidden? Because it works perfectly fine for me when I do that. I don't see what else it could be.
Not working wid me even! Unchecked both the options!
DO same on phone
Click show All files on your phone folder menu option. Try that, maybe it will help
I am trying to put a shortcut in Start menu on the device while conected via active sync with Windows Mobile Device Centre but the windows folder does not show up. Can someone tell me how to get to windows folder please.
MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL.......
no one know?
You will need to show all hidden files and folders and all protected OS files on your PC. You can do this in the Organise>Folders and Search options (in windows 7) In Vista i cant remember off hand.
Merry Xmas
I noticed exactly the same thing today! I don't know how to solve this or if it can be solved
But don't worry, you are not the only person. I can only view the windows folder from the device file explorer
I have exactly the same problem. I need access to this folder to do some cleaning up. The chore is too cumbursome on the phone. I really need to know how to access this folder on my computer. Anyone?
Open up file explorer on your pc, and browse to your phones windows folder, then press alt, and a set of menus will appear along the top of the window, click tools - folder options - move to the 'view' tab, scroll down the list and check 'show hidden files folders and drives', then scroll a little further and untick hide protected operating system files.
The phones windows folder should then be visible.

Click to collapse

Can someone explain how I can move bluetooth from the "all settings" folder into the programs folder. It just means fewer clicks to set up a partnership for me. Thanks
why not copy the shortcut for BTManager into the startup/programs folder and then you can access it via quicklinks?
Thanks. I was looking for the correct file in windows but there are plenty with beginning with bt! Done
Hello,
when I connect my HD2 (ROM 1.48..) via USB with my Vista PC,
the PC shows not all files and folders which I can see on the HD2.
For example:
in the main-folder of the HD2 I can not see the temp-folder,
the Windows folder and most of the files.
On the Vista-PC, the button "Show all files and folders" is set.
A similar problem occurs when I select a picture for the background
of the HD2.
With the menu I can select the folder 'storage card > DCIM',
but not a sub-folder of DCIM.
Somehow strange, any idea!
eshd
show system protected files..
Hey,
I'm having trouble accessing the Windows folder of my device when browsing via my pc. When I browse using WMDC file explorer I cant see the Windows folder. Is there a way to access it?
-Thanks
on your PC - open file manager, press alt - t. This should bring up the tools menu, choose folder options, switch to 'view' tab, scroll down,
Tick 'show hidden files and folders'
scroll
untick 'hide protected operating system files'
click apply(bottom), then click 'apply to folders'(top)
Thanks a lot
no problem.
When you do browse the windows folder on the phone from the pc, dont be surprised that it takes quite a while to populate the file list, it isn't your phone, its a known issue of winmo. Personally i find it easier to use filemanager on the phone (well, resco, ) and copy files to and from the windows folder from there, and use the pc file manager just to copy to other folders and the sd card.
