WINDOWS MOBILE 5 ON XDA IIi??? - PDA2, XDA IIi, 2020i Software Upgrading

hi all
o2 have just released o2 FLAME!! with windows mobile 5 on it.
the FLAME"S processor is Xscale 520 MHz the same as the XDA IIi??
has any one tried this OS on the XDA IIi???
is this the answer to all our problems?? will it work??
has any one got or know how to get the OS for the FLAME??
thanks all and have a good day

O_O
heres hoping!, but i bet there will be a problem with it, or its got some feature that makes it incompatable.

flame is not even a htc device
and apart from the cpu everything else is very different then
alpine i would not hold my breath for
a rom to be ported from that direction

Windows Mobile 7

Any know when Windows mobile 7 is gonna come out? i tried searchin in the forums and really didnt see much.
nobody knows. Imate has wm7 devices for the end of the year but it probably won't happen.
in case you're wondering, the herald doesn't have the kind of awesome needed to run wm7
Just wondering, Saw some screenshots looked really awesome, Dont know if there the "real thing" but it looked cool
not imate, excuse
i mean mwg, which is essentially XDA in Asia
Here's an older preview of WM7...

Windows Mobile on HTC Legend

You can put Windows Mobile OS on an Android device?
Although Android is a more fluid, Windows Mobile offers more options.

Bravo good question.
Only your English seems
bad.
HTC HD Mini and HTC Legend
The device running Windows Mobile 6.5 Sense with 320 x 480 resolution HVGA is the "Touch HD Mini".
The best Windows Mobile system is present on "HD Mini" with graphic optimization and speed.
Also HTC Legend has a 320 x 480 resolution HVGA.
Both systems have a 600 MHz processor.
Sorry for my English.
The solution is simple. Don't buy a Legend if you want Windows Mobile. Buy a HD2, or anything else. I'm almost 100% sure that Windows Mobile won't be available for Legend (and there is no need to anyway). The main aspect for the Legend's success is Android and HTC Sense. I don't buy a Mac if I want to run Windows on it
Anyway it would be interesting trying Windows Phone 7 on Legend when it's available.
go wash your mouth wit soap.
How about a dual boot?

then buy a Windows Mobile 7 when it's on sale.
WM for me is a good but Legend has a nice aesthetics, I made only a demand since there are similarities between HTC HD Mini and HTC Legend.
However I have also an HD2.
winmo7 looks like a bad OS its so locked out compared to past versions seems like a backwards step

i would never even think of installing Windows Mobile in my Legend.... that would be blasphemy

opinion!

It's not so much an superiority/inferiority issue as to the 100's of dollars I've spent over the years for apps that will be useless with Android.

I have both HD2 and Legend. Legend is my daily phone and HD2 is my business phone. You have a point in telling Winmo offers more that's because Winmo has been on the stage for years and it's come to an end with WP7. There'll ben no upgrade or anything for oldschool winmo devices. Also winmo is quite heavy if you don't have a dragon inside your phone while android works very well with a 600mhz chip. As a matter of fact sometimes my Legend reacts faster than my HD2. And Android market is expanding faster than any other platform so there's no point in winmo anymore. Enjoy your nice designed eye-candy piece of technology as most of us do and forget about winmo the history )))

I noticed with you. In fact Android on speed and lightness of the system is perfect. Meanwhile I will use I HD2 and legend waiting for WM7.

windows mobile 7

does anydoby knows if the windows 7 will be conpatible with the opal?..i don't really know much about it but i would like to know if the delelopers can make it compatible to put it o a opal device
I'm just guessing but it probably won't be compatible right out of the box. If anything it will be like WM 6.5 and have to be cooked by the chefs here at XDA to work.
Windows Phone 7 need dualtouchscreen! Sooo.....
Wait until we are lucky!
We are still trying to port android on our devices which is not much of a success....and WM 7 hasnt released yet,so we cant predict what's in store for us because presently,we are still trying to get a perfect 6.5 on opal, which is being made possible by finest chefs on board the forum...so we just have to wait and wait...nothing else..
1 GHZ processor is a must fr Win 7 mobile...

dell streak and windows mobile

excuse me for my question i'm really a newbye.
is it possible a dual boot for the streak with windows mobile or windows 7 and android ?
or the dell streak with windows mobile only?
I ask this, because it's possible the contrary for example htc hd2 with dual boot or with the rom android.
Thanks.
I don't think so and why will you do that? it's like installing windows 95 on a core i7.
I was a winmo user for a long time and the only thing that will get me back to it is Garmin XT but it is not worth it.
anyhow I beleive you need a hacked bootloader, so you can have a nice fancy menu for dual boot, but I doubt any devs here would like to drop WinMo at the streak. since we just had a release of Vanilla Froyo.
I'm ok with you regarding wm6.5 but Wm7 could be fun on it. It's being able to have the choice that make a piece of technology powerfull
Windows Mobile 7 is hardly anything like Windows 95 when compared to Android. Yes, I'm a former WinMo user happy with my Android device (HTC Desire) but that doesn't mean Windows 7 is in any way comparable to WinMo 6.x. Microsoft completely rewrote the OS, from the ground up, to run on these types of devices. I haven't had a chance to play with it but it looks to be a much more polished system that WM6.x ever was.

It's more like installing Windows Server 2008 Enterprise on 486 DX2
I guess the man wants windows mobile, because he needs a work tool, not a toy...
Actually the device will be very decent with 2 GB ROM - WinMo+Android+Lots off stuff installed on nand...
I'll be interested in that also. Win 7 interests me especially if they get the communication agrigation right as they claim.
I love Android because its open.......well kinda open.....carriers have spoilt that a bit

yes, so am I, because I feel better with tomtom and there's no android version,
so co-pilot , perhaps igo are compatible with it.
Oh yeah, one thing I tottaly forgot, winmo has a LOT of medical market and propietary jobs... here in my country the police uses winmo to check your id's and stuff. so I guess it's not a bad idea... but I can't imagine a police guy with a streak. Now a little off topic but there is a QIGI with 5 inch screen and WinMo 6.5 If you wanna look at it here it is
www.qigi.cc/showproduce.asp?id=52
enjoy!
I really hope we'll see dual boot Android and WP7 on the Streak
bump!!! Bump!!! BUMP!!! BUMPPPPPP!!!!!!!
I would seriously love to see WM7 boot up on the Streak. There HAS to be a possible way to make this happen.
Wouldn't mind seeing this myself

Would be awesome to have 7 on the streak but for some reason I would prefer 6.5
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
+1 on the 6.5. Although thats not fair since I haven't used WP7 yet.
hey...remember the old HTC Shift Tablet? that dual booted 6.5 and Vista...I'd imagine the Streak could pull a dual boot of WP7 and Android.
Omg yes, that shift tablet is sick! Found one at a local cell phone store. Would have got it but not willing to shell out the 1000 they were asking for. For me I have used 7 its nice but lots of things were missing that 6.5 had like a file explorer and the wifi hotspot thing.

I am a Streak 5 owner and I am looking also for Wm 7 running on Streak
The first reason is for the GARMIN XT
Is there a way to install that ?

This post. Serious win.
Android is quite awesome and all, but I dont leave my HD2 home. iGO8 and Office Mobile have yet to be topped. In all honesty though, just give me 2.3 for the Streak.

i dont actually see anything that i would want from windows mobile on my android phone. i think windows phone 7 would be easier to get on the device but theres even less i would want from that. maybe im just a fan of googles services and dont care much for the metro interface.
Yep I was a die-hard winmo user and had no idea what I was missing in the android world. Android is so smooth, no sticky screens, stopped processing and hangups like I was used to in winmo.
No dual boot for me. Android is cool !

Was Just wondering if windows 7 can be flashed on HTC Elf......
Windows phone 7? No
Windows 7 (OS)? No.
The elfs processor is 1/5th of the reqired CPU usage for a start, and wasn't even meant to run winmo 6.5.

elfin has only a doubled rom/ram difference, cpu is the same. besides, not that a slight difference would work
what about eclair or froyo?
does someone have cab for that?
The answer is still no. There is only android1.6 donut for the elf/elfin. Wing Linux have done a great job getting it to the state that it is in at the moment. If you want a phone that is going to run android fully then just get an android phone. The elf is a very old device now when you consider the changes to mobile phones in the last year alone.
I'm sorry to be so blunt but I don't think it will happen. And even if it does it will be very slow and you'll probably end up with a negative impression of android or winphone 7 and not want to use it. You.can get early android phones for relatively cheap now. Look at the Hero, massive.community, but again, people are moving to faster devices already.
Sent from my HTC Hero using XDA App
Saying that though, there is no.reason that you can't offer a helping hand to get eclair or group ported. Wing Linux will probably welcome the help.
