Speaker sound lost during upgrade from WM5 to WM6 - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Hi ,
I have a Wizard (Qtek 9100) with WM5 and I wanted to upgrade to WM6.
So I followed the tutorial from Wiki, and managed to upgrade to BlackDiamond 3.1 Touch, I was happy and then very sad when I found out that there is no sound from speaker, but it works with earphones.
I searched the forum and found that
There's a little connector in the earphone slot which bends in the way its not supposed to bend which in fact causes the effect that the phone thinks the earphones are plugged in.

but I never used the earphones before.
The sound went off in the update process, but I didn't notice at which step.
Initially my Wizard had
WM5
ROM : 2.17.7.2
RADIO : 02.07.10
IPL : 2.17
SPL : 2.17
The step I followed from the Wiki :
1. Install "Button ROM"
IPL become 1.01
SPL become 1.01
RADIO become 1.12.10.0
OS 1.5.4.2
PROTOCOL 4.0.13.23
2. I used "Lokiwiz 0.2b" Tool to SIM Unlock and CID Unlock
IPL remain 1.01
SPL become 1.01.0000
3. Install "T-mobile Official WM5 ROM"
IPL become 2.26
SPL become 2.26
RADIO become 02.25.11
OS 2.26.10.2
PROTOCOL 4.1.13.12
4. Upgrade to IPL/SPL 3.08
IPL become 3.08
SPL become 3.08
RADIO remain 02.25.11
OS remain 2.26.10.2
PROTOCOL remain 4.1.13.12
5. Install "BlackDiamond 3.1 Touch"
IPL remain 3.08
SPL remain 3.08
RADIO remain 02.25.11
OS became 11.0.0.1
PROTOCOL remain 4.1.13.12
Since I did not move (dropped, disturbed) the Wizard from it's place during the upgrade procedure, I think that the sound problem is software related.
And another question, I noticed that RADIO version remain the same from WM5 to WM6, it's normal or should I upgrade the Radio ?
Edit: I upgrade to Radio 02.47.11, still no sound!
Edit: I tried to call my brother, the mic works and also I can hear him loud and clear from small receiver. But when choose "Speaker On" still no sound!
Does someone has the "Diagnostic Program", so I can run speaker test.
Any help and suggestions appreciated!

Speaker sound lost also
Sadly, the same happened to me with my HTC x7500. I still have not found a solution, but will keep you posted if I do.http://forum.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

speaker sound lost 2
I have a dopod 383pro (i think the same as a HTC Hermes) upgraded to wm6; sound was fine. I then did 2 things in a row & lost normal speaker sound.
I tried about 4 different Blue Tooth (BT) enabling protocols or hacks to allow me to listen to music through my mono BT headset, & dropped it from waist height. the speaker didn't work after that, & I assumed the drop did it. But recently I realized that the Hacks like BT Audio & Navaudio etc may have affected the registry in such a way as to disable the speaker. The BT audio works well. I then found by "accident" that the speaker actually works if I (continue to) push down hard the "connections" button under the On/Off button. This is quite touchy & difficult to maintain. Any ideas?

hermes soooo. why are you posting???
twice... the same answer.... dont duplicate threads!!!! this was asked twice!
I wish you to make a little experiment! please make somebody calls you if the speaker dont works and in the earphone it did so blow up in the hole... maybe you have a little trash inside many people has this issue blow up with power... maybe you can get a preasure air can. so... if not maybe the rom is upgraded an loaded bad re upgrade the OS... if not.... open up your wizard and be sure your speaker are conected to the motherboard... if not you are screw up!!!

MDA Compact: Bad speakerphone quality on other side (Dutch)

Hi,
I flashed my Dutch MDA Compact with the 1.06 Swedish QTEK roms and the 1.05 Radio Stack. But now, all of a sudden, when I use my speakerphone, the other side has a lot of trouble hearing me properly. Does anyone have a solution to this?
I already tried hard resetting my device several times, but this did not solve anything!
Other than this, I am quite happy with the update...
try lowering the volume of the speakerphone. Just by using the volumeswitch.
I'm affraid this did not solve my problem.
To be more precise: people on the other side of the line only hear bits of me talking, like i am breaking up or something.
Any other suggestions?

I can't help you but I have exactly the same problem.
I bought a Dutch T-Mobile (English ROM) last week and I immediatelijk flashed it with the QTEC 1.06 end radio 1.05.
I never user the phone with the original ROM, so I don't know if that had a better quality?
I've the original T-Mobile Dutch ROM still in place. No problem with the other side not being able to hear me. I've seen a lot of messages on upgrading the ROM. But I've seen very few messages telling me what you would gain. Also the sound of the speaker using the phone is fine to me.

mine is unlocked, and I'm using it on Orange network.

Radio 1.00.10

Same here. What will a compact owner gain? I did upgrade my camera though. Check this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=18244

XDA II Mini speaker volume is too low

I just bought it in HK and quite happy, except the fact that the speaker (front) is very weak and i cant hear my friends (wife) during a call.
My ROM version is 1.03.00 WWE, Radio version 1.01.00
I heard there is a patch for this problem (that also takes care of a camera problem) . is it true ? where can i download this patch ?
Thanks in advance
hi you may want to check if you have adjusted the earpiece volume. when talking on the phone slide up the volume button and see if there is any improvement. to check for rom updates and patches. goto the O2 website.
It looks like you are using the original ROM that came on the I-Mate Jam. The new radio version is 1.05 and is much louder then the original radio.
Thanks.
Can you recommend where it is safe to download ROM ver 1.05 ?
radio 1.10 is more better because gprs problem is fixed.
what gprs problem? My gprs works fine?
Any way to make the speaker louder?
Yes, sell it and get a mobile phone. LOL.

How to test the center phone speaker?

Hi,
My Wizard works fine except for one problem: when using it as a phone, the little top center speaker doesn't work; I hear nothing.
(no, changing the volume level doesn't help.)
I can now only use it as a phone by either activating the speaker phone function (which lets everone else around me hear what's being said), or use a bluetooth headset.
Both are not really convenient.
Is there any way to test the center speaker without first disassembling the whole thing? activate it with another program besides 'telephone'?
Maybe such a test shows the speaker itself is OK, so no disassembling needed (but what then...).
Any help is welcome.

Simlock and CIDlock free.
It has also run the original and updates T-Mobile ROMS with the same problem: no center speaker.

has my Wizard finally had it?

I have a 2.5 year old G3 Wizard (Cingular 8125). I've dropped a half dozen or so ROMs on it in the past year.
Currently running IPL/SPL 3.08, Radio 2.71.11, with Khanx's Enhanced V4.0.
Was running IPL/SPL 2.26 and radio 2.25 when my problems began.
I have not installed the Cingular radio fix.
Ever since installing my last WM6 ROM, Bluetooth seemed kind of flaky. In the past month or two, I could hear callers through the headset, but they couldn't hear me. At first it was intermittent, but now the issue seems constant.
When I turn the headset off, callers report hearing an echo when I speak.
Is it time for new hardware, or is there something else I can try on the software side?
Well,To me it looks more like a Hardware problem then a software, but there's no harm in trying out the cingular radio fix, although it basically improves the radio signal reception, but it might improve the BT signals also, which I'm not sure or flash and try any other rom.If it improves, good, but if still have the same problem, then I'm afraid it might be a some Hardware failure.
Cheers!

Speaker problem with Imate Jamin (HTC Prophet)

I recently installed (and then uninstalled Resco MediaSuite) on my Imate Jamin. Now, earphone has static. I've figured out that actually the microphone is comes on when I answer a call. The microphone is picking up a bunch of the surrounding environment noise. That's interfering with the sound of voice calls coming through my earphone. Imagine something like blowing into a microphone.
I figured this out because if I put the phone on mute while I'm on a voice call, I can hear the call fine (as I could before I installed the Resco MediaSuite).
Can anyone help me figure out this one? I figure it's some sort of registry setting that got messed up.
Here's my config:
IPL 1.00
SPL 2.G3.4 PDA
ROM Version: 2.20.7.9 PV WWE
ROM Date: 7/06/08
Radio Version: 1_02.20.21
Protocol Version: 4.1.13.9
ExtROM version: PDAVIET
WM 6.1/CE OS 5.2.19214 (Build 19214.1.0.4 PNT)

I think your best bet is a hard reset...
That worked! Thanks.
Thank you for your help. That worked, although it required some configuration. I'm certainly not complaining though!

Glad it worked for you.
Hard resets seem to solve a lot of problems
