Hi,
I flashed my Dutch MDA Compact with the 1.06 Swedish QTEK roms and the 1.05 Radio Stack. But now, all of a sudden, when I use my speakerphone, the other side has a lot of trouble hearing me properly. Does anyone have a solution to this?
I already tried hard resetting my device several times, but this did not solve anything!
Other than this, I am quite happy with the update...
try lowering the volume of the speakerphone. Just by using the volumeswitch.
I'm affraid this did not solve my problem.
To be more precise: people on the other side of the line only hear bits of me talking, like i am breaking up or something.
Any other suggestions?

I can't help you but I have exactly the same problem.
I bought a Dutch T-Mobile (English ROM) last week and I immediatelijk flashed it with the QTEC 1.06 end radio 1.05.
I never user the phone with the original ROM, so I don't know if that had a better quality?
I've the original T-Mobile Dutch ROM still in place. No problem with the other side not being able to hear me. I've seen a lot of messages on upgrading the ROM. But I've seen very few messages telling me what you would gain. Also the sound of the speaker using the phone is fine to me.
AK
mine is unlocked, and I'm using it on Orange network.
ROM 1.01.00 WWE
Radio 1.00.10
ExtROM 1.01.124 WWE

Same here. What will a compact owner gain? I did upgrade my camera though. Check this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=18244

I just bought it in HK and quite happy, except the fact that the speaker (front) is very weak and i cant hear my friends (wife) during a call.
My ROM version is 1.03.00 WWE, Radio version 1.01.00
I heard there is a patch for this problem (that also takes care of a camera problem) . is it true ? where can i download this patch ?
Thanks in advance
hi you may want to check if you have adjusted the earpiece volume. when talking on the phone slide up the volume button and see if there is any improvement. to check for rom updates and patches. goto the O2 website.
It looks like you are using the original ROM that came on the I-Mate Jam. The new radio version is 1.05 and is much louder then the original radio.
Thanks.
Can you recommend where it is safe to download ROM ver 1.05 ?
radio 1.10 is more better because gprs problem is fixed.
what gprs problem? My gprs works fine?
Any way to make the speaker louder?
Yes, sell it and get a mobile phone. LOL.
Is it just my phone, or is the audio quality of the Jamin borderline acceptable?
I have this phone for 4 days now, having previously used imate PocketPc + Win2003
The sound for incoming calls is often distorted and sounds like some bad VoIp connection. Very often i have to tell callers to repeat what they say, but they hear me fine.
My ROM version is 1.0.9.25
ROM date 01/09/06
Radio version is 01.14.20
(BTW how do you display the ext ROM version for this device? It doesn't come up in Device Information).
Would a ROM update help?
Would appreciate feedback
Thx.
Mine is quite good compared with my previous PDA phone (iPAQ 6315), clear and loud. I am pretty satisfied with it. Maybe you should update your ROM?
I am using XDA Neo with the lastest JAMin WWE Rom.
I recently installed (and then uninstalled Resco MediaSuite) on my Imate Jamin. Now, earphone has static. I've figured out that actually the microphone is comes on when I answer a call. The microphone is picking up a bunch of the surrounding environment noise. That's interfering with the sound of voice calls coming through my earphone. Imagine something like blowing into a microphone.
I figured this out because if I put the phone on mute while I'm on a voice call, I can hear the call fine (as I could before I installed the Resco MediaSuite).
Can anyone help me figure out this one? I figure it's some sort of registry setting that got messed up.
Here's my config:
IPL 1.00
SPL 2.G3.4 PDA
ROM Version: 2.20.7.9 PV WWE
ROM Date: 7/06/08
Radio Version: 1_02.20.21
Protocol Version: 4.1.13.9
ExtROM version: PDAVIET
WM 6.1/CE OS 5.2.19214 (Build 19214.1.0.4 PNT)

I think your best bet is a hard reset...
That worked! Thanks.
Thank you for your help. That worked, although it required some configuration. I'm certainly not complaining though!

Glad it worked for you.
Hard resets seem to solve a lot of problems
Hi all,
it is well known that most of HTC's devices do not support 2 sides call recording. Hermes is obviously one of them. I've noticed that the problem has been worked out for the Kaiser here. Is it also possible for Hermes?
come on guys, just can't believe no one is interested in calls recording on Hermes!
more and more info spreads trough the forum here and here. i've tried to make it working on my Hermes (tested on CRC's 13.3 and Josh's V15) but without luck. is it possible that the problem lies in radio revision (mine is 1.50.00.00)? I am willing to try different radios but i'm bit hesitant after reading many ultramag69 warnings of possible brick. can anyone try mskip's cab and report results?

Negative.
WM6.5 21195.9.3.21.1
Radio 1.47.00.10
thanks nebula28
just flashed radio to 1.56.70.11 with CRC's 13.3, still no luck. will try some other roms and report here.
Thanks. Seems that Hermes is more difficult.
apparently,
just tested with TAI's Golden Globe V10 (radio 1.56.70.11), still the same. i am going to try some of the stock roms.
You won't have much luck with them either and they're crammed with bloatware. I don't believe theres been much success with recording both parties in a phone call.

A guy reported positive results with earphone. It's weird that he claimed negative without earphone.
His environment:
WM6 WWE 5.2.1620(Build 18125.0.4.2) English ROM
RADIO : 1.47.00.10
Audio Notes Touch v1.02
it worked with earphones for me once as well i had one of them in my ear and the other one was hanging loose. it turned out that it was so close to the mic that the sound was recorded perfectly
ok, so just to report back, i've tried few different roms and all failed. here is what i've tested:
- TAI's v10 with 1.54.30.10 radio
- Official Telstra 3.62.305.5 with radio 1.54.30.10
- HTC official 3.54.255.3 with 1.48.00.10 radio
- latest Orange SPV3100 WM5 (yes, 5) 2.11.61.3 with 1.38.00.01 radio
all of them with Vito 1.37.
I am going to give up. Maybe someone else will find the cause of this? Maybe you have some ideas what to try next?
Hi there to all of you from Italy.
since some months a strange thing happens to my qtek9000. what happens is that when I receive a call I hear nothing and to hear I have to put the call on speaker. After that, I can go back to the call turning off the speakers.
I really don't know what to do here.
I don't know if this issue was covered before. if so, please excuse me for it.
here's some of my qtek info:
rom 1.30.89 ITA
radio 1.09.00
protocol version 42.42.P8
extrom 1.30.177 ITA
let me know if you need some more info about this.
all the bests
Michael
