Connectivity problems - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

I have a Cingular 8525, running the factory rom with WM5. During the last couple of days it's said it has had service, and then when I try to make a call it goes "doo dooo doooo" and doesn't connect. It hasn't synched for e-mail when I have active push enabled either, even when I click send recieve, and it has been able to intermittently recieve text messages. It rings when you're calling (instead of going to voicemail) but the device itself doesn't ring, or show any missed calls....
I've restarted it a bunch, and I've pulled the sim and put it back in with no luck....
Cingular told me they would let me get a refurb for free or I can upgrade to a tilt for $400 dollars (after I spent 300 on this one 4 months ago).

*bump*
Anyone???

Cannot Recieve or Send MMS

Hi!
I just got my xda2 yesterday and I'm having problems sending and recieving MMS messeges. Whenever I try to send them they never go though and it tries 3 times before aborting. Also I don't recieve MMS messeges properly either. If I try to send a MMS messege to my xda2 from another phone then I get a SMS messege from o2 saying to goto their website to view the picture.
I've tried playing around with the options in the Media Messeging program such as changing the Connect Via: option but without any success.
Any help would be much appricated
Contact O2 customer services & ask them to enable MMS support on your SIM card. That is the reason why you are not recieving the actual message & only getting the SMS alert as your SIM isn't on the N.A.P.
Spot on, that's what I had to do when I got my XDAII. It took about 10 mins for mine to be enabled.
If that doesn't work, then get them to replace the device...when I first got mine they tried to give me a reconditioned one in a "mixup"...in the end I kept it til I demanded they give me a new one....they did!
Cheers

O2 curse on Debitel/Vodafone sim cards...

At the begining of October last year my boss was selling off his XDAII as he was upgrading to a XDA mini. So I thought great the price is right so I bought it off him. So far so good.
Now my Debitel/vodaphone sim card (Not directly from Vodaphone) worked straight away. No problemo. However I started to get Info SMSs at a rate of one every 10 seconds - 5 minutes. So I rang up the Debitel hotline and they told me how to block them although they couldn't tell me where they were coming from. However there seemed to be no problems with my account. This helped briefly but every time I had to restart it, wether because I had used the flight mode function or it had crashed (happens ofter when using Acrobat reader) or even after a cold restart, those damned Info SMSs were back and I had to block them again. About a week Later the touch screen gave up the ghost, and as it was still under garantee, O2 changed it straight away. The exchange one lasted about a week however it had the same Info SMS problem. Now these Info SMSs never affected any of my other phones and when I recieved my third XDAII, guess what? Yes those Info SMS were back again. Debitel told me during my numerous calls to there hotline that I obviously had ordered the news services myself, which I denied as I had not ordered them. They gave me a number to cancel any Jamba (Debitel service) Info SMSs which didn't work as I hadn't ordered from them. Then the Hammer. End of November, I recieved a phone bill from debitel for €216,88  (my usual bill is €90 - €115) It seems that all three phones had rerouted all those Info SMSs and any missed calls to a O2 service number  Debitel naturally told me that I had rerouted all those calls and still insisted that I had somehow ordered the Info SMSs and of course the were not willing to negotiate on my bill.
Eventually I found out that they were comming from Vodaphones Vlive portal, however on calling the much loved Debitel hotline. I was informed that there was nothing that they could do as they came from Vodaphone. Now Vodaphone said that as I had a Debitel/Vodaphone contract they could do nothing as they have no accsess to my account. Debitel did however say that thier technical department could and would stop the Info SMSs but that was 3 weeks ago. Well now I've written to Debitel to canncel my contract and ask them to stop all Info SMSs going through my account however I've had no confermation on either account so I guess I'll just have to wait... Now the next interesting thing I installed a Vodaphone Sim in the XDAII and guess what even with a new number the Info SMSs kept comming and yes all my calls were being rerouted... Damn this XDAII is becomming expensive. How the hell am I supposed to stop the Info SMSs from being sent? Because blocking them is obviously not enough... Any ideas? I'm at my wits end HELP!

HTC P3600, T-Mobile USA, bad SMS delivery

I've had this phone for over 10 days, the problem has been evident for at least the last 6 (maybe longer). I am having horrible SMS delivery problems -- the phone will lose network connectivity a few times a day, usually after I have sent 2 or 3 SMS messages in a row. When this happens, SMS outbound messages stay in the Outbox for about 3 minutes, then error out as unsendable and end up in drafts. The phone will drop the network totally for 30 seconds, then come back up and I can't physically resend the SMS for another 30 seconds. Eventually it will send fine, but 1 or 2 SMSes later, failure again.
I am using an ancient T-Mobile "Voicestream" branded SIM that I've had forever. SMS messages send fine from any other T-Mobile phone in the same location. Phone works fine otherwise, although it is a bit sluggish many times so I cold-reset a few times a day.
This is my 6th PDA phone, so I'm aware of Microsoft's shortcomings -- but for a $600 phone I am expecting better SMS performance. I send 100-150 SMS messages a day so this is really a killer.
Try upgrading your SIM. I was having network problem as well till I upgraded to the newer SIM and It work much better now.

Your on T-mobile USA? How did you get the new-er SIM? Any noticeable physical difference between the old ones? Did it cost you anything?
I am on the Cingular netwrok but both are similar. I had the 32k sim and was having network connection issues. Cingular upgraded to the 64k sim and all is well now. Something to do with the 3g network if I am remembering corectly.

Just read the rest of your message. Cingular upgraded for free because I was having issues. I think replacement sims are $24 or $26. Both look basicly the same sept one says 32k and is blue and the new is 64k and is orange.
I went to my local T-Mobile corporate store and received a new SIM (free of charge). Everything is perfect now on the T-Mobile network! My SMS messages send fine, and I have even better reception. Crazy that a new SIM would make a difference.

MDA Vario 2 not calling or texting but doing everything else

I purchased an MDA Vario 2 off a 3rd party seller on Amazon just before christmas, when i put my T Mobile PAYG sim in it did everything except call and text, it can still connect to internet through wifi and gprs/3g and do everything else, just no calls or texts, when I try to call it from my landline I get 'calls to this number are currently not being connected'. When i try to call out, I get 'call ended' on 0:00 time when i try to text, it just wont send. I've done a hard reset, called T Mobile to check if it's blacklisted which it isn't, tried a different T Mobile sim and attempted to flash a ROM, I don't really know if it worked or not and when I've been trying to do it recently, i connect via activesync, run the program downloaded from the T mobile website, the phone goes into the 3 colour screen with USB at the bottom and then the computer tells me it's not connected. The seller has been very cooperative, and I can see it was working when she had it because there were call times to her old numbers.
I don't seem to be able to access call barring, caller id, call forwarding or call waiting settings, it tells me the setting couldn't be read from the network, if that helps at all?
Anyone suggest where I turn next?
My ROM version is 1.22.110.3
My radio version is 1.47.30.10
I'm trying on T Mobile PAYG UK
Edit: I've just tried swapping both my sims to my old phone (moto v535) to try and make some calls and they both now give me 'call failed' (including the brand new one, i've just activated and has only been in the MDA for a few hours tryna get it to work) yet still show 3-4 bars of signal. does this make any difference to diagnosing the problem?

Galaxy A3 No incoming calls

hi,
I have a intermittent problem with incoming calls.
I takes my son a least 3 times to get though.
Its either engaged
rings twice and goes to answer phone
rings once then enaged
or says 'this number is unavailable'
I'm with virgin,
phoned them numerous times and they have altered the voice mail ring times and things, then decided it was the sim card.
New sim card came but was exactly the same, so more codes entered for virgin, then decide it was the phone.
Phone came back after 2 weeks saying its fix and updated but was exactly the same.
Phoned virgin again they said its not the phone or the network? so I dont know what to do.
While my phone was away being "repaired" I bought a cheap £15 phone from tesco and put my sim in it and it worked fine. Maybe its because its a simpler technology.
Any help would be appreciated
