Hi!
I just got my xda2 yesterday and I'm having problems sending and recieving MMS messeges. Whenever I try to send them they never go though and it tries 3 times before aborting. Also I don't recieve MMS messeges properly either. If I try to send a MMS messege to my xda2 from another phone then I get a SMS messege from o2 saying to goto their website to view the picture.
I've tried playing around with the options in the Media Messeging program such as changing the Connect Via: option but without any success.
Any help would be much appricated
Contact O2 customer services & ask them to enable MMS support on your SIM card. That is the reason why you are not recieving the actual message & only getting the SMS alert as your SIM isn't on the N.A.P.
Spot on, that's what I had to do when I got my XDAII. It took about 10 mins for mine to be enabled.
If that doesn't work, then get them to replace the device...when I first got mine they tried to give me a reconditioned one in a "mixup"...in the end I kept it til I demanded they give me a new one....they did!
Cheers
Anthony

Hi Everyone
Past two days I am having prob with MMS which used to work well and all of the sudden it stoped working and giving me error message saying...
Unable to send the message and your message will remain in outbox.
Is there anyone else from Dubai having same prob ?
I checked with i-mate support already, they dont have any clue about it, even did the hardreset nothing works, they send me a cab file for Etisalat installed it still no luck.
There seems to be some issue between i-mate and Etisalat, so for now with i-mate MMS wont work...
They are negotiation thats what I got from i-mate support after they asked me to hard reset the device with latest ROM twice.
MMS works with me!!
I have tried the MMS and even sent a Vcard thru. You may first configure the Connection settings.
Rename Work selection and change the setting further by entering the ID and PW as "mms".
Select it to use GPRS and then I reckon it should work.
Good luck...
Did you tried sending MMS in past 2days?...
It used to work fine and all of the sudden it stoped and I went to FONO where we checked with couple of other imate devices to, it didnt work.
I did tried with the settings which you are talking about... If I try to just connect this mms setting without sending MMS message it does get connected to the network tru GPRS but not sending messages.
Hi...Can anyone help. I have a new 1605 from Vodafone and although I have battled through and got most of it working, I just can't send MMS messages. I know my account is correctly set up because vodafone have checked it and, I could send them from my old phone using the same number. When I try to send a MMS I get an icon that looks like a little clock and it just stays there until eventually, after about 3-4 hours, it changes to a red cross and I get a message saying it couldn't be sent. Has anyone got any ideas? Thanks.
Hi everyone , i have a problem with my ipaq 614c i'm using wm 6.1 here is my problem : when i want to send out a sms it takes around 10 mins and then it displays "Your text message cannot be sent.", but the weird situation is that if i make calls in this period not just 1 call if i talk for 10 mins or if i call and hang up and so on for 10 minutes the sms is sent.I'm using Vodafone RO and the sms service center is set ok.Please Help!!
Same problem here.
MMS sending and SMS-receiving works fine, just as all other services do (email, internet, etc.).
Only sending SMS does not work. Messages remain in the outbox for about 10 minutes and the error message appears.
Have you tried my solution ? making calls in those 10 minutes ?
i need to make like 3 of them to successfully send a sms. Ps. And i believe that all sms that i recive are delayed 20 30 minutes.
I had that problem too, the same with Vodafone RO. Try the sim card in a different phone and if it is working try a factory reset.
My topic is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=417783
I believe this problem is caused by having an old SIM card. My Vodafone UK SIM worked fine in my ipaq 6915 (WM5) and in many other phones, but when I got my 614c, it seemed that this model was unable to read the SMSC (short message service delivery centre) number out of the SIM, so SMS messages could not be sent. I found that my SFR (Vodafone France) SIM card worked fine which made me think it must be the Vodafone UK SIM.
When I got a new SIM from Vodafone UK, the problem disappeared.
You can verify whether this is indeed your problem by going to Settings > Phone > Services > Voice Mail and Text Messages > Get Settings. If "Text messages service center" is set to null, or another value that is not correct for your network, you have the same problem as I did. (You will probably find you are unable to set this field manually - it is read from the SIM.)
So i said that if i make calls i can send the sms ..i tried to get the settings i got them and worked but same problems with sending i also tried the factory reset several times nothing as well tnx for suggestions if you have more i will be pleased to try them all.
having a strange problem with my new HP Ipaq 914 (windows mobile 6.1), I am using a O2 payAsyouGo sim (phones sim free)..
Everytime I send a sms mesage I get the message "your text message cannot be sent" appear on the screen and then "message not sent.please try again?" in red writing on the screen. Yet altho its saying message cannot be sent my messages ARE getting through so i,m told ! altough when i send long messages the receiver gets missing text message after afew lines.
The message cannot be sent alert happens in about 6 out of ten messages sent and is very annoyng as i,m never sure if they get thru or not witout ringing to find out.. I,ve got all the settings correct as far as i no with the call center and user password, also got it set as wap2 on the mms settings, altho i,ve tried wap1.2 no differance, the gateway and server addresses are correct otherwised no text's would be send at all.
I,ve been pulling my air over this since i got the phone at Xmas..
Hope someone can shed some light on this ..
Have you checked with your service provider? is it a service issue with the cellphone company?
yea i checked with the provider, all my settings are correct, it does the same with other sims an my sim works in other phones..
Sometimes it says message was sent and other times , (mostly) its says not sent, yet they are all sending ! very annoying
I have had that issue with my old Toshiba G900 and HP 914C.
It is about the your sim providers credit message service.
After a call and after sending a message, you would get a service message about your remaining credit. That pop-up messages are not suitable with some of the wm6.1 builds of some devices.
Also you messages are sent although you get that message.
Hi,
I have a problem with my mms.
I moved over to Three from virgin and now i can no longer receive mms messages. All the settings were setup when i put the new sim in and i rang 3 to confirm they were correct. They got me to send a mms to myself which worked and i received it. The problem is i can't receive anybody else's. 3 say there is not a problem because i can receive my own and all the settings are correct so I'm stuck. I can send mms no problems but not receive.
The only thing which might have affected it is i just finished porting my number today but i can still send so that should affect it.
Phone is a tytn ii on cooked 6.5 rom
Help please I've spent all night on this
update. i have found out that the only network i cannot receive from is tmobile/virgin so i believe i need to contact virgin and get them to delete my old profile from their network.
Does this sound right?

I found my answer in the end, some how the setting between t mobile and 3 had got messed up during the number port. Three and tmobile engineers sorted it for me.
