I'm going to upgrade my Trinity to WM6 but I'd like to retain the original device branding splash screens of HTC and Vodafone.
Is it possible to extract these images from my installed ROM before upgrade.

Yes it is possible.
The tool you will need is Olipro's Custom RUU Updater, which can be found here: ftp://xda:[email protected]/Trinity/Tools_and_Programs/ModifiedRUUUpdater-V2-TRIN.rar
You can extract the splashes with either ROMBaker or NBHExtract.
Also check in DEVICE\Windows for a file called welcomehead.96.jpg or welcomehead.96.png. You might want to save that too.
In case you want to dump your actual ROM, use the guide described here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_HowtoDumpRom
For flashing a custom splash, check here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Trinity_SplashScreen
For other splash related issues, check here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=341817
Good luck!
Great...great help there.
Thankyou.

How do I change the boot screen image? The first one that comes on as you boot your Wizard?
I have the Wizard Love image... and I don't really enjoy its presence on my masculine phone.
haha yeah i had that and got rid of it using a WM6 splash screen it looks alot better than the wizard love rom lol
heres the link:
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/WIZARD/Roms_Bootscreens/WM6_Splash_Wizard_NOID.rar
You have to flash your wizard with it just like a normal rom upgrade if you have WM6 you need to download the AKU3.3 updater which is avaliable with this radio rom. Just copy the nk.nbf file from the wm6_splash to the radio rom folder and overwrite the radio rom (which also is called nk.nbf).

You can flash an original firmware without removing HardSPL. But beware of the fact, that you can't use an original ROM (RUU) without modifiyng the image!
The easiest way would be to use an original RUU and extract the parts of it with nbhtool. Then build a new ROM with the extracted OS.nb and then use the HTC Tool with the new OS.nb and the extracted ExtendedROM.nb and Splashscreen.nb to build a new .nbh.
After that you can flash this .nbh-File (Image).
I hoped it helped a little bit.
step 1. download the software from t-mobile
step 2. remove battery
step 3. hold down the cam button and put battery in. turn on phone.
step 4. you will then see the USB mode on your wing, connect it
to PC
step 5. install software and follow instructions...
thats it.

Hi every one
I flashed a Pdamobiz rom and i didnot like it much so i flashed my touch again with other manilla based rom(s).
The problem is : PDAMOBIZ rom replaced the smartmobility screen that apper after soft/hard reset with a green screen with a sord(i guess) in the middle with with Pdamobiz.com on it and i hate this screen .
Can any one of XDA experts guide me how to remove it and restore smart mobility screen again
You'll need to flash the 'smart mobility' RUU_signed.nbh file onto your phone. Make sure it is CID unlocked first. Refer to this thread....it has the entire solution as well as the file you need:

thank you for your response but i cant download the file attached in this link it says that my account doesnot have this previleage (may be because i am a junior member) any ideas
Hmmm...sorry bout that. Yeah...you cant download from that thread because its closed. Well...if you cant get the main splash screen from there...you can refer to dsixda's posts on how to restore your elf or elfin's rom. Its in the wiki. There's a detailed breakup. I think you need to extract Mainsplash.nb out of the original shipped rom. It's all there on the wiki......a little bit of reading required. Make sure you flash the correct version of the splash screen....i.e there's different ones for the elf and the elfin.
Good Luck.
thank you you were a great help
have a nice day

Hi
I have real problems using the exe files from my pc to flash a rom.
I'm trying to remove the t-mobile pink cirle branding and been advised the only way to do this is flashing an unbranded stock rom.
I have hpsl installed, can anyone advise if this is possible and also whether stock roms are available in LEOIMG.nbh format?
THanks
possible. but pls be cautious about stock SPL version. It will overwrite HSPL & make sure it is downgradeable to bepe HSPL. it is better to rip splashscreen only & rebuild LEOIMG.nbh.

You can get rid of the first bootscreen on another way, by just flashing a seperate nbh file (on the same way you can change the radio). Search the 2.09 rom thread in this forum for a way to do this (really simple).
Perfect, thanks, i was worried flashing another .nbh would restrict which rom i could use but sounds like it flashes a different part of the rom
for more info look in here and you can find video to how to doit

I have flashed back to the stock SPL and ROM, but I only have one question. My HD2 is a t-mobile version, and I noticed that it originally had a t-mobile splash screen instead of the HTC splash screen. Since I have a t-mobile version HD2, will I need to flash back to the t-mobile splash screen before I send it in for warranty so they won't suspect that it has been flashed? Let me know ASAP. Thanks!
Yes you will need the stock splash screen or they will know you messed with it. Search "stock splash screen"

most branded roms also contain the very first splashscreen
know this for a fact regarding the latest O2 UK rom
my advice would be to check the HTC website and use the serial # of your actual phone to download the ROM. If the site throws the error (not suitable for your device) you can safely assume that it will give problems at the warranty desk
on the other hand, if the site accepts your serial and offers a download in the drop-down menu below (try the T-mobile roms for your country first) you should flash that ROM first.
then check if the boot screen has been reverted as well, if not search for it and flash.
make sure to remove hspl first. Original ROMs with matching branding will flash without hspl. if it doesn't work or sticks at 0%, you can try to revert from SPL3 (2.08.000) to a lower original spl using the SPL2 tool
