Trinity not charging...

Hy,
I have a Trinity that doesn't charge the battery.
The board conector is OK, and the AC charger is also OK.
Does anyone know or have a circuit diagram for this phone, or can give me a hint regarding the charging circuit ways?
Thanks in advance.

Did you have change settings or the OS before you got the problem?
how you will charge the Battery? => USB or power supply/Charger
If no USB charging but only charge with the charger: Check out the registry if there can be an entry for (USB) charging. It can be called like as "EnableUsbCarging" and must be set to 1 for charging on USB.
Hy,
Sorry to answer you only now.
I've tried it both ways... I believe it has to be a hardware problem.
This is why I asked for a tech-diagram of this model.

No one has e tech spec or board diagram for this HTC?
Need one too!

Hi, I just reactivated my Trinity after waiting for a battery (direct) charger to arrive from the states, so I'm not in a hurry, though having to turn it off every few days...
Anyway, My Trinity stopped charging and isn't detected via USB, I'm guessing HW fault.
To make a short story long, I saw that the price for "fixing charging circuit" is the same as changing a connector (very high, both of them), and I figured I can do it myself, BTW 5VDC is found on the MB.
Where can I find the circuit schematics please?

Atom gets external power (backlight changes) but doesn't charge (DIY charger)

hi guys, I soldered a 5v charger's +5v & ground wires to a female USB port, then connected to the mini-usb port of the Atom, external power was detected but it doesn't charge, what else do I have to do to trigger charging? thanks!

Interesting. I've noted similar issues, I first thought it was to do with the power current capacity however I'm not so sure now. What I did find was that if I plugged in the usb plug first and then turned the charger power on (e.g. car charger 850mA) then it would charge. However the original charger worked any which way. Also turning off the screen would result in slow charging even when it said not! Does this help?
There is some problem in oem battry driver, you can google to find the driver hotfix.
sorry for my BAD english..
You must give two other pins short with resistor as i remember. This is in order to simulate USB connectivity, which original charger do.
This is for HP Ipaq rw6815 I have..
more info you can find in below links it's for other devices, but the workaround is the same:

I don't think below method i safe enough, I think it's not a wise decision to shorten your data pins, but obviously work with iphone

HTC Wizard (Qtek A9100) Charging Problem.

Hello there,
I was charging my Qtek normally with it's original charger. My sister umplugged it a couple of times to charge up her notebook.
My Qtek won't charge anymore. It's working fine. It turns on, I can use it normally. But It won't charge.
My guess is that something happend to the mini usb plug or circuit, because it won't charge with it's charger, neither with USB cable plugged in the computer. And it can't communicate with the computer trought the cable too. Bluettoh works fine with Actve sync.
Someone have any clue about what happened?
Same thing happens to me today...
I'll show in the Qtek...
But I think that "usb plug" is "unplugged" from motherboard...
Visualy no problem with my usb plug... Welds are well...
So, the problem is IN the USB PLUG ????
I have found some on Ebay :

Is there some doc about ?
Thanks,
I Haven't opened it yet. I'm travelling, and I don't have the proper tools. But tomorrow I'll be back home and I can say if something physical happened.
So rocksull ? USB Plug is dead ?
I bought the connector and and external charger too (5$) with a battery (6$) on EBAY...
But usb plug is sent from USA, so I'll receive it in two weeks...
Bye,
Well.
I opened up my Qtek. The welds were messed up (Cold Solder). I'm just waiting a friend that has a soldering station to see if we can re-solder the plug. I'll post results soon.
Hello Rocksull,
So, It's good for you ?
I tried soldering USB plug, but welds are too small...
So actually I'm using an external battery charger... ((((((
Bye,
I was able to solder the plug back, because I work with that.
It charged again, but the battery didn't last 1 minute. I opened again and saw that the circuit is also messed up. There's one or two transistors burnt, a little capacitor.
Anyway... I gave up. I was about to buy a new cell phone anyway, and I can use the other componentes (LCD screen, camera, etc) to build some projects. =D.
I was able to solder woth a hot air soldering station (I don't know of that's the name) and some liquid weld. We have this stuff because we work with SMD components.

Can I charge a phone through the testing points ?

Hi folks,
I'm trying to fix my old Nubia with a broken USB port by bypassing the port.
Since it's soldered to the motherboard, it's almost impossible to solder right on the usb pins.
But I've noticed testpoints, and found the VCC one, on which I soldered a wire. another being soldered to the outside of the port for grounding.
I thought I would be able to charge it that way, but it's not showing any signs of life (with or without the battery)
So I have 2 questions:
-can I charge through the testpoints ?
-do I need to send a signal to the ID pin ? (I guess not, I opened up a charge only cable and it had only 2 wires)
Pic of the connector
I tried charging it with a lab psu and an Aukey Quickcharge 2 charger
Thanks for your help
