has anybody come across a one button close all application for WM5.0? Spb 3.0.1 is too slow on WM5 and Wisbar Advance 2.4.....is also too much for what is needed. Something like Magicbutton but written for WM5.0 would br nice, nothing that requires much memory, but something that enables the closing of running apps without having to go into start/settings/system/memory...etc.
Wouldn't it be nice if Microsoft had just written in that piece of code, as they are well aware that since PPC2000, that every application opened, remains so unless you manually close it down in memory (therefore hogging memory resources!)
Well if anyone knows of a WM specific solution, please do share.

I added couple files which they are usefull for you and they include the closeall app.
Install the cab files you'll see the close all, Reset and Running programs, which they can be clicked from the systray directly, after the installation they require a soft reset or else you go to Start>Programs>System open TrayLaunch and press Enable
GSPocketMagic++ is the most stable program I've tried. You need to put some amended bitmaps in to get it to integrate with WM5 but it works well...

Thanks guys. I'll try them both and let you know how I get on.
Damn!! My Jasjar is a Rocket!!

sub69: I don't know what kind of coding they used in that software you recommended, but it has boosted refresh rates and performance in general by at least 30%!! I know this sounds crazy but it's true! My opinion has completely changed about the speed of the Jasjar. It seriously Rocks! I couldn't care less if it doesn't stay this way, because it shows me conclusively, that future ROMs' will probably address the issues I have had thus far.
I needed this. Thanks a bunch sub69; best link I've had with regards to Universal software.
OK 1 gripe only: I've lost my two soft buttons on the bottom bar (any ideas?). It comes back and stays operational after a soft reset, but as soon as I use the 'close all' option of the program, I loose the soft keys! Damn..there's always a hitch!
Another positive though, the speed boost remains even after I have exited the program and revert to standard WM5.0 launcher!
P.S. I had at least 12 programs running simultaneously with no slow downs at all and 15 megs of Memory still available (tried to run out of memory, But couldn't). Very pleased at the moment, this is what I was expecting from the HTC Universal!! I'll test extensively before I comment further.
Thanks again sub69, u da Man!!
Mental...I didn't realise it was that good!?!
Not sure about the soft buttons, although come to think of it I have noticed they've disappeared a couple of times. Must've been when I hit "Close All" too?
Glad I could help, anyway. Do let us know how things go...

Still cannot believe it!! It's still going strong. Sussed the soft button thingy:Under start (GSPocket)/options/settings...uncheck the 2 tabs for'use exten task close' & 'Use Today skin'. That's it. It runs absolutely perfectly for me & with no need for amended bitmaps too! It fits right in wih my red or blue border themes (I only use my own jpegs now instead of themes - in the hope that I get no performance issues.....so far so good). Under menu settind tab I only select close all & setting (which gives me quick access to all settings in WM5.0..personal & system) and under 'click' tab I leave it as default 'Menu'. I'm so impressed with this software, I didn't think non-specific WM5 software coul be this good!
That site you recommended is also tops!
This software is so good that I must put up a new thread to inform all of your wonder find. I just hope all who try it get the same experience I'm getting. Thanks again sub69....I don't even feel the need for the next ROM update/grade...though I won't be turning it away.
Hmmm, not sure why you're that stunned. I'm finding it just fine - but certainly no faster than my JJ runs under PocketPlus 3.01, and the non-VGA graphics are a real step backwards. Anyone know how to solve this?
You mention a speed improvement; can you clarify: Before this, how long did it take to rotate the screen, and how long does it take now?

Hi All,
I installed MagicButton (freeware) om my K-Jam. It works so far!

pocketpcfreewares.com is great! They do an RSSfeed showing all new and updated software, too, so its a permanent fixture as a "Live Bookmark" on my Firefox bookmarks toolbar.

That's the file you need to download for the Jasjar, then if you have an SD card reader, you can transfer it directly to it and install the .cab file by selecting it! If you don't have a card reader, let's hope you have a bluetooth dongle, as it's a small file then you can bluetooth it over. However if you have no problems with your activesync connection, just use that to dump the .cab file on your storage card somewhere or into 'My Documents' on the jasjar.
It's not complicated.

Yep, using it myself now - but no speed change over PocketPlus (even after hard reset to remove PP). Using it cos I like menu and PP didn;t offer all that much more that other apps don;t give me.
Hi !
All the times i´m sure, that the same Turbo-Modus from WM 2003SE exist deep in the WM5 too.
People call me, Jay, you are crazy!
Since one Week ago i find the Turbo-Modus !
We tested it on the German-Forum http://www.ppc-welt.info/community/showthread.php?t=81949
It´s the same Speed-Up Feeling like on the XDAIIi or other Devices with the Turbo-Modus On.
No 50% or 1000%- Booster, but you can feel a better "Easy-Going".
It works on some other WM5-Devices too !
First, you only take a "new" Key to the Registry, copy the Power-Programm from WM2003 SE, start the Power-Programm,
go on new Processor-page and:
The Turbo-Modus exist and can be activated !
Here is the key:
HKEY_Local_Machine\ SOFTWARE\HTC\Power
Put a D-String with Name "ProcessorPageFlag" 1 Dec.
I made a reg.-File who write the key, and i put it with all needed files in one .zip-File.
Password: Agent Jay
First try the reg.-File, than copie the Files, if you want, you can overwrite the files in the Windows-Directory, but backup the originals !
Put the power.lnk File in the autostart/startup Directory, and now, after every Softreset, you can activ the Turbo-Mode.
It works perfectly, you can only feel the Speed-Up on really full Memory Pro´s, not really on empty Pro´s. Don´t know why.
Problems: After a Softreset it goes on "Standard-Mode", it must be activated again manual by Hand.
But these five Seconds for restaring Turbo-Modus during a startup are OK for me.
Anyone can it handle or find a way, to save the turbo-modus forever ?
I hope you like it !
Greetings from Germany,
Agent Jay
???
Is it workin or just eating up my alredy bad battery? :/
RE
I just installed yesterday on my QTEK9000 and I 'think' its smoother in operation.
Not very sure about it
As I''m running XCPUScalar and some other speed up registry tweaks if there's any speed increase its definitely not noticeable
Thanks
It´s not possible to detect the faster speed, because it don´t push up the megaherz-rate !
But you can feel the faster performance.
No more power using from your battery !
So it speeds it up without speeding up the processor or using any more battery power? Hmmm. Surely if that were possible then the "Turbo" mode would be the default mode and no other mode (like "slowmo" mode) would exist?!
Could it be that the Turbo page is something that is built in to WM5 but which was disabled on the Universal since it does not support it?
Seems to work on my Magician
Can anyone pinpoint the actual benefit of this tool?
Exactly what difference is experienced??
The benefits are a faster and a feeling of "liquid" working.
Thats it.
Menus open faster, Windows open faster, the handling is therefore better.
No longer hickups, ...
It´s like Aspirin for a guy with headache.
After the Aspirin he don´t run faster, but he have no longer headache  and make a better work.
I think, every little speed up of our device- help us !
Try it or leave it.
Regards,
Jay
It really wont make a difference on the HTC Universal because it already has a 520 MHz processor. With the PDA2, the processor was underclocked to 416 Mhz and the power-up option was useful there.
UD.
Thats not correct. It works on the Universal too !
First users here and some more users on german forum had tested and feel
more Speed. You can´t test it with benchmark-apps, because you don´t speed up the processor. Don´t know exactly, what it is, but it works.
Test it yourself and than reply !
Greetings,
Jay
Alright Jay, will keep you updated
Cheers.
Uhm... it *seems* to do something to the general responsiveness of the Universal, the hourglass appears for less time now.
I'll keep testing it... thanks for the clue.
Are you sure with this password. It is not working to unzip it !!!!!!!!!

I've got a few problems with my t-mobile mda vario.
1. This thing is sloooooow. I've got an ipaq h1940 which is a similar spec but has half the ram and it runs twice as fast :? I've run the registry tweaks which seem to have improved things a bit but after startup and active syncing im getting up to 10 second delays before the start menu opens
2. The blutooth manager seems a bit sparse, and theres no option to change the serial ports from 6 or 7 :?
You lot seem infinately more knowledgeable than me on these things so hope you can help me.
Thanks in advance

do you have a taskmanager installed like SPB Pocket Plus or Magic Button? If not do so!
When you close a program with the above leftcross-button, WM5 only minimizes the program but does not close it. All program will just be running in the background. Use a taskmanager to close them for real.
If you have installed one and your device is still slow, i suggest overclocking it to 240 or 264 Mhz using Ompaclock, which is reasonably save to your device.
Install the latest Qtek rom, and your MDA will be much faster
thanks for the advice guys.
didnt realise you could overclock pdas
where do i find the qtek rom?
is it pretty easy to do this as ive heard horror stories about people making their devices unbootable and unable to claim on their warranties.
will try the software and the overclocking for now and report back
thanks for your help

ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Wizard/Roms/
For MDA, most people are using:
ftp://xda:[email protected]_RUU_Prodigy_2170702_217_20710_TMO_US.exe
This also includes some useful tweaks and keeps the TMobile settings.
Do it now, before you get too far into customizing, because you'll have to do it all over again after the upgrade!

A copy of the "stock" TMo ROM is in the same directory, so if things go bad, you can hopefully restore it.
Or you can back up your ROM yourself using aWizard -- http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=37386
The only tell-tale of the upgrade is that it is CID-unlocked, but not SIM-unlocked. WM5 is still there, but there a number of improvements.
I installed the touchflo, it gets installed , but doesn't start etc. it needs somebody to get it working ,it doesn't seem all that far fetched like wm5 or wm6.it needs somebody from this forum to get it going . like they have done it on prophet, wizard, artemis, with some tweaking and alteration of biotouch file etc.cmon give some respect to the forgotten hero who started this transition from window mobile of being brick sized pda's to mainstream phone

There is one posted by Xplode in the WM6 BlueAngel forums if you are interested. But it wont work, not even on a WM5 much less a 2003SE.
Hi,
I overclocked my Prophet about a week ago to 301MHz and have it seems to be very stable - i've had no freezing the whole time whilst browsing the web, send emails and watch streaming video via orb. I just wanted to know if anyone has been able to push the Prophet any further to get an idea about its overclock capability. I know the phone in most cases remains working if you clock it to high but my Tornado seems to have slowed down after I overclocked it too much and I don't want that to happen with this one aswell.
Thanks
The highest speed I can OC my prophet to stably is 286. The chips all behave slightly differently so one may clock higher than others...
cool thanks!!
I advise you not to overclock it that much. At least not in a regular basis. It is a good idea tu use the scalar mode. You can find that setting on BatteryStatus plugin.
someone can tell me the name of a overcloker ?
id proved 2 types of programs (turbotry, other) with no results.

Hi,
The program your looking for is omapclock, however this only temporarily overclocks the cpu. To overclock over a longer period of time you will need tornado power control (which comes with omapclock) - I have attached a file
