Hey Guys,
Check this out: http://www.box.net/public/jytpxq47nk#main
Follow this to the "T" and it works like a charm! I did it and it I finally am able to connect!!! Here are what I am running:
ATT 8525 Downgraded to Rom 1.34
Radio 140
BB Connect 2.1.2.54 transport=2.1.0.91
I have the BB unlimited plan
NO LAPTOP Connect
I get about 138k with GPRS and about 600k with 3G in Vegas. I hope this helps..
Use mobile 6 and you don't need to do all of that. You can use internet connection sharing.
Running WM 6 as well. Is there a way to tether with AT&T without looking suspicious and get charged without the tethering data package? Any success with this?
Thanks

Can this be done? I used to use my Razor for this and would like to be able to use the 8125.
Tethering your 8125
it looks like you can but you may want to read this first...

PDA plan vs Data/Laptop connect plan
Got the tethering figured out. Works fine, but to be sure that Cingular does not charge for mb used, you have to sign up for data connect....not PDA connect. The main difference being that Cingular can tell when you use the phone as a modem for another device like a laptop or desktop.
PDA plan is for using the phone as your internet device.....39.95 unlimited.
Data connect is either for PDA or usage as a modem.....59.95 unlimited.
Hi I have the Verizon xv6800 and have the unlimited data plan.. I was wondering if it was possible to use my phone as a dial up connection using VZAccess.. if someone who knows how to do this .. please post step by tep instructions for setting up the connection...
thanx
Step 1: Call Verizon
Step 2: Purchase the Tether Connection Plan, $15/mo
It's alright I used to use it but I hated the fact that once connected online, active sync is disabled.
Now, "Off the record"... is there a way (Potentially) that I could (Potentially) connect my (hypothetical) laptop to my (Hypothetical) cellular plan if I just (hypothetically)have the AT&T PDA Data plan?
Yes, I would basically circumventing AT&T services and probably violating the EULA or whatever... but I just don't need the bandwidth of a full data plan on an EEE (all this ownership and service being hypothetical of course... okay, I'll stop)
Better yet, can I put my Sim card in one of those USB dongles and have it access the 3G network... even though I only have the PDA plan?
Any input would be nice.
thanks,

[EDIT: Oh yeah, it's in an HTC Hermes/8525/Tytn 1 right now, and that has a wifi antenna... I can plug it in via usb, but haven't found a program or Firmware that would let me share internet on it. I've tried WMWifiRouter with the registry changes (Wifi instead of BT for ICS...) but hasn't worked for meh ]
You can use internet connection sharing. The original at&t roms have it hidden in the windows folder. I not sure what roms are available for your phone but I know when I flash to wm6.1 with my tytn II (not an official ATT Rom), Internet connection sharing was readily available at under my programs list.
Best program for tethering ever http://www.junefabrics.com/pdanet/index.php
PDANET FTW
I have Cincinnati Bell...and I have a Unlocked Wing
I have the Wing Flashed to OS 6.1...like a custom rom....and for some reason my internet does not work.
it connects via wifi, but when I try to access it without...it always comes back with Page cannot be found.
Yes, the internet settings are configured.
Yes, I have a internet package on my plan.
Any ideas why and how to fix this issue?
nevermind fixed it myself.
Hey guys, I recently downgraded to R29, did the root thing, upgraded to TMO OTA DRC83 - US with the expansion (basically donut 1.6) and then loaded the HTC Hero Theme (all found on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=538456)
Now I've successfully tethered my phone's 3G using it as a wifi and I've did some searching on these forums on setting up a PAN via BT, which doesnt seem like the current build allows for it yet am i right?
Well my problem is that Tmobile 3G is pretty terribad compared to the other 2 companies (Verizon + ATT). I have the 24.99 data plan and I've heard that it allows your phone free access to T-mobile HOTSPOTs at places like Starbucks.
I recently tried to connect the MT3G to one of my wireless networks and successfuly used internet on it. Now when I tether it as a wifi and access the MT3G on my computer and still have the MT3G connected to my home wireless network (note: tethering resets the wireless so you have to reconnect), the MT3G accesses internet fine. However, my computer isn't able to go on the internet at all even though it says it's connected to the MT3G.
Is it becuase you can only have one wireless "instance" @ a time--- aka tether + wireless network = no no on MT3G?
I know the USB tethering is an option, but i'd like my girlfriend and I to both be able to use it too.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
This answer might seem vague and very minimalistic...however; the T-Mobile HotSpot Era has come to and end. You're not very likely to have "usable" service from a "HotSpot" anymore.
