You may use any ROM Updgrade, you may even want to cook your own ROM, but please do not think of performing a radio stack upgrade if your present radio is working well and giving you a trouble free service.
Hi guys,
I 'm in same situation but with higher versions, and can hardly wait to get a new 2003 ROM.
I can't just play with my XDA as I use it all the time for work and it's pretty stable so far. I just also can't tell that the ROM is 'totally' separate from the RUU in WM2003.
So the question is: is there any one here who has gone through a 2003 upgrade for Qtek 1010 to tell us his thoughts after the upgrade ?
I read a lot about the stability of 4.00.16 ENG, but all been written was for O2 R4.21 or T-Mobile R6.xx. Did any one in this region (Mid East) with R 3.2x went into this upgrade ? and what is the current status ?
Thanx all ....
Latest ...
I tried upgrading to 4.00.11 ENG from the kitchen ... no matter how many trys it just restarts and gives the same error message "Can't open USB/com port ..." ...
Do I miss anything ??
more update ...
Tried to cook the new ROM as .nb1 file and used Xdatools from the kitchen to flash my device .... same result :?
Is it possible that there is a ROM protection on my XDA ???

Hi Biso007,
Look at the IDIOTS GUIDE at:
http://www.xda-developers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3171
and follow the instructions thoroughly one by one and you can't go wrong, it did work for me, I was in the same situation.
Samohile - Thanks. It is good advice to not mess with the radio if you can help it.
My only problem is that my device periodically shuts off. Then pressing the power button soft boots it. I cant tell for sure but it seems that this happens after an incoming or missed call. It seems that other friends using ROM 3.18.04 and Radio 3.25.01 (like our friend biso007 here) seem to have very stable systems.
I can try upgrading the ROM only and see what happens but the information at www.carrierdevices.com seems to imply that both ought to be upgraded at the same time. I notice it is an Australian site. Does that matter? Also, the version of the radio upgrade is a bit confusing, at least from its name. (Radio Upgrade File : RSUv1.15_(GPRS_T32500_ENG).exe] ). I wonder what this RSUv1.15 translates into since the name of the exe file for the ROM is nicely descriptive of the version (3.18.04).
Any advice in this would be very welcome..
Well i am using WM2003 4.00.11 and its working fine for me no problem i cooked in the kitchen you just need to read arround this great forum for a whgile on topics such as upgrades and ROM to know exactly what you are dealing with and then you will able to upgrade smoothly.
Hi ARZLEB
I read lots and lots about upgrade lessons but none of them worked for me .... I got an advice to use SD card with bootloader as it's the only working way. Now I wonder why the EXE method was created!!
I see that u got the 4.00.11 working. Did u upgrade it using EXE or SD card. Any help would be so appreciated ... thnx
Well i used the EXE methode the file i cooked in the Kitchen but i didnt change the version i left as 3 at the bottom of the page it works fine i upgraded from 3.XX to 4.XX then i downgraded from 4.00.11 to 4.00.05 then upgraded again all using EXE format so far working great.
i will be honest with you i know about the SD methode very well but never tried it so u have to make more search on this issue.
If you need anything more plz message me anytime and i will be more then whilling to help you step by step...

Faisal sorry for very late reply.
I have flashed my Qtek (bought in Abu Dhabi) with several versions of roms cooked in kitchens (Jeff's and Stefans's), but I have finally settled with ATT release wm2003 Siemens SX56 upgrade. It comes with most of the bugs fixed (except multiple reset bug) and is quite stable. I almost never have to reset it. You can flash the ROM only by SD card method though. You can try it. It's always a good idea to flash using SD card method. USB method using ProgramA is not very safe. I guess the network in Pakistan is compatible with the one in the UAE, so you can safely use it, if you don't mess up with the Radio Stack. My Radio is 3.23.01 and I have no problems with that.

How can I restore my system to the original states

Hello,
I know that I should'nt have do that, but I need your help.
I upgrade my MDA on the following state :
Rom : 4.01.16 Eng
RSU : 4.21.00
For buisness reson I have to go back to the original state.
Rom : 3.18.01 ENG
RSU : 3.23.00
Unfortunatly I didn't do a Backup
I have acces to some MDA with the originale rom and rsu
My question is how to go back to the originale state, without destroying the other mda with the originale rom? via bootloader?
Thanks in advance
The ROM part is easy, you can get the original 3.18 ENG from the carrier devices site http://www.carrierdevices.com.au/downloads.php?region=Asia Pacific
The RSU might be your nightmare especially that you have 4.21 which showed to be the pain for most people here ... anyway, in the same site you will find RSU 3.25 for Qtek ... it's almost the same as 3.23.
Good luck
Biso007 Thanks for you answer,
I look at your link but it seems to be the Qteck version, I really need the officiale t-mobile version.
Is there any way to save the originale one in one of the other phone that I have access and restore to my one?
Biso: Is the rom found in http://www.carrierdevices.com.au/downloads.php?region=Asia Pacific WM2003? What radio version it contain? Is it compatible with PW10B1 device?
I'm now running T-Mobile ROM 4.01.16 ENG, Radio 6.25.02. I'm plannning to change the Radio to be compatible with Asia-Pacific and in the US (I've been going to Asia and back to the States for business, so I want a device compatible with both Asia-Pacific and US). Thanks
ok I Download the old version on a new phone via OSimagetool to my sd card and put it on my device. working perfectly.
So now I just have to downgrade the radio stack to 3.23.00, where I can find it and how to downgrade?
I download the file here
http://www.t-mobile.at/business/mobiles_arbeiten/MDA/SWupdates/
Looks like it's working, (at least I have the right number at startup)
the only problems that I had it's that rhe rsupgrade was lauch every time I startup, I had to delete the file rsupgrade on startup folder. now it's working like before.
Thanks a lot.
By the way, does it exist a solution in mda to copy contact name to the sim card?

No, it's PPC2002 and the RSU is 3.25 for PW10A devices (900/1800). I know it coz it was on my device before I replace the mother board with a B-type one.
If you are going to use 900 MHs network in Asia you can keep your current RSU ... I have it on my device and my network is 900/1800 ... other than this you better use 2 phones or get a new XDA II

Dealing with the SIM book is a matter of s/w and the device type (XDA or MDA or ... ) has nothing to do with it. You can find many freeware s/w to deal with the SIM entries.
ok thanks a lot, do you just have the name of one of this freeware?
try this http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=7496
don't work for me

PM10A No GSM on bootup :(

Hi people.
I have an ImateJam PM10A that i require help with.
On boot up i notice it says "no GSM" D.1.12.00 WWE
The sys info i get from device information is:
ROM Version 1.12.00 WWE
ROM Date 05/28/05
Radio version BLANK
Ext rom version 1.12.119 WWE
As a result no GSM whatsoever.
Hope you guys can help me ?
Kind regards,
Mitch.
did you do anything to your jam before this happened? i dont know too much about this stuff but i would say reinstall the rom, heres what clubimate has to say about pm10a rom upgrades:
If the model number indicates PM10A, then the customer should upgrade with the Generic Worldwide English ROM Build. You will not be able to install the North American JAM (850) ROM. This WWE build does not include the connection settings for the US operators found in the North American build, though these are all available to download separately from club i-mate™.
Hi..
Ur r seeing no GSM on boot because radio is missing, meaning no phone, just the PDA...
U just have to reflash radio, and for doing that:
go to the ftp from here, download MAupgradeUt_noID.exe,and a radio ROM of ur liking(1.12 is preferable,it is radio_.nbf file),put the 2 files in 1 folder, remember to also put RUU.dll in it,enter ur phone in bootloader mode by pressing power button, camera and reset(i guess,it's been a while since I have'nt reflashed a Magician ,anyway make sure by reading the wiki page from here),then run MAupgradeUt_noID.exe,and follow on screen procedures...
Good luck...
RAGO
Tried an upgrade to the latest UK wwe full image using MAupgradeUt_noID.exe and also the latest radio rom.
whilst the upgrades complete ok the radio version and protocol version still remain blank??
any ideas on what the generic world wide flash file is called and i will give it a go.

HTC P3300-unplug when updating PDAMobiz ROM-dead phone-need help

It might be a duplicated topic but I do search on the forum and need some or your kindly help, xda-developers members.
I bought my HTC P3300 from ebay and it was already in English. A strange thing that it had French Extended ROM : 1.12.406.101. The rest is exact to the ART_HTCWWE_11240501_026790_WWE_Ship ROM (ROM : 1.12.405.1 9/12/06, Bootloader : 1.12.0000, Radio : 02.67.90)
Yesterday, when upgrading to PDAMobiz lite version, I accidentally unplug the device then now it turns to brick. No futher going except HTC boot screen with IPL 1.12.0001, SPL 1.12.0000, GSM 02.67.90, OS 1.28.0.0.
I try to put my phone into bootloader mode (triple color screen) and update with the Ship ROM downloaded from xda FTP. Unfortunately, all these ROMs result in "Invalid Model ID" or "Invalid Vendor ID" after 2% of progress then automatically reboot.
I understand that my phone is not unlocked, that procedure I have to do beforehand with the help of IMEICHECK. But now it is no use because my phone is a brick. That supprise me is why can not I go back with the WWE Ship ROM version that I already seen on my phone.
So I suspect that
1. My phone is HTC P3300 French version then the ebay buyer change to English UI before selling it to me
2. Because of unplug the phone while upgrading, part of bootloader of my phone was corrupted.
My solution can be
1. Send the phone to IMEICHECK because they have ability to open the hardware and re-flash the ROM directly. But it costs a lot of money and time because I have to pay for the fee, tax, and shipping.
2. Waiting for some kind people to share their French ROM of HTC P3300 so I can give a try on this. So please, if anyone owe a HTC P3300 French version please send me your dumped ROM ([email protected]) or let me know where can I get it. I will be appriciated that.
And to the xda-developers members, could you give me some more advices in this case, I was strugling with that for nearly 2 days. Thanks very much.
Duc
During the flash your security area on a device, including CID has been corrupted.
Actually none of image will flash on this device.
CID area must be restored in order to flash device. Yes, IMEI-CHECK recalculate all security area and flash it to device with help of modified spl loaded in a memory. But this is done from windows. In your case, you are in bootloader and you can not load modified spl.
Only one solution I see is to use jtag interface, but not sure that pins are known on artemis motherbord for jtag interface. With jtag you can load modified spl.
Simple way is just to send device to service center.
best regards,
Hic no choice. I am unable to open this device to access through jtag interface. Do you have any ideas ?

Send it cervice centre or Imecheck
@victoradjei: that's good idea. Could you please tell me which one is better ? Imeicheck or HTC service center ?
I live in Australia and I bought this phone from ebay, which service center (Europe, Taiwan ..) should I sent my device to?
I have talked with the guy in Imeicheck and he asure that this problem can be solved. However, have any one in xda-developers had experience with Imeicheck? Are they good at this kind of repair? How about their reputation?
Thanks very much

HTC Hd2 from HK

Good morning,
I'm here in HK for a long period and I'd like to buy a HTC HD2 here that is cheaper than in Italy.
My only concern is that if I can flash it without problem in order to use a new cooked ROM in italian .
What does it mean WWE ? I read WWE in some ROM but I don't known what it means
Thanks
Hi friend, WWE stands for world wide English....I also bought my HD2 from Hongkong, and the original ROM installed is also the WWE version, means everything is in English, not in Hongkong's native language...Flashing to another ROM is not a problem, just make sure you follow the procedure correctly (HSPL, etc..etc...)
Thanks...but can you tell me about correct procedure to flash ? I want to avoid any kind of serious problem
all in the stickies at the top of this forum, with videos
OK thanks...but the right steps are : flash with new spl or hpsl and then fals new rom (if I want to use Artemis rom wich SPL/HSPL flash have I to use ?
Thanks
Soon, I would be in Uk too. Which is the carrier who offers the mobile at a lower price -and which is the lower price-??Many thanks!!
