Sorry not sure how to use the tools on Vijay's site, i've installed the VJPhone tools, which creates a few shortcuts in a folder, now do i edit these shortcuts or what? if so how, and how do i put these shortcuts on my Today screen.
thanks.
ump, have a look here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=26972&highlight=vjsms
Basically, you first need an explorer that will edit shortcuts.
I highly recommend GSFinder+.
Install that and navigate to \windows\start menu\programs\vijay555\vjphonetools
Then, choose the program you want, select the shortcut, choose copy and then choose paste. It will make a copy of that shortcut.
Edit that 2nd shortcut (so that you preserve the original shortcut as an example. Reinstall the cab if you foobar that one up by accident).
Edit the shortcut according to the description on my page, www.vijay555.com.
Just double clicking on any of the original files in \program files\vijay555\ will bring up a message box describing basically how to use each app.
I've got a forum on my webpage. You can post there, pm or email me, or always catch me here if you need help.

thanks, i'll give that a go.
cool, seems to be working, how do i change the shortcut icon and add a name on it.
thanks for your help.
What launcher app are you using?

VJ,
Where can I find GSFinder? I tried google and it keep giving me a site that leads to a Japanese site. I can't read Japanese. Can you please direct me on the right link?
Another question, can I install GSFinder on my SD Card and run it from there?
http://page.freett.com/todamitsu/GSFinderE.htm
GreenSoftware is great! yes, AFAIK you can stick gsfinder anywhere. I recommend a copy in Extended Rom just in case you screw everything and/or lose your SD card (which I've done), and need some way to explore around.

Thanks very much Vijay!
VJVolubilis
Dear Vijay,
I'm useing your tool, VJVolubilis and it does not work as I hoped.
When I use VJVolubilis -agon (or -agcon) I hear the sound over my bluetooth headset briefly. It also starts Voice Speed Dialer and as soon as that ends, the sound no longer goes over my headset, but through my phone again. Hope you can help me out.
I have a HTC Universal, Original T-mobile MDA Pro (dutch)
Rom: Imate 1.13.52 WWE, radio: 1.03.01.
Bluetooth Headset: I-Tech Arrow 1
Download VJVolubilis versio 0.21
Thnx in advance ....
sharky48: you need to post this in the VJVolubilis thread.
There is a registry hack in that thread to fix this issue (temporarily). I will make this feature automatic in VJVolubilis quite soon... when I get some time to update it.

Hey all.
New owner of the X1 and so far loving the phone.
I've currently got the following on startup on my X1 and I was wondering if someone could be kind enough to explain what it loads and if it's ok to delete:
AutoShortcut
PanelDefault
Panelmanager
poutlook
cheers
I would hazard a guess that poutlook is Pocket Outlook, and PanelDefault / Panelmanager run the Panels interface for Xperia phones.
I don't mean to be nasty or rude, but if you didn't know what Panelmanager is then that suggests that you should perhaps spend some time learning more about your device before you start deleting stuff.
For now I suggest you leave things be and just enjoy playing with it.

You could create a backup of your settings and try it out for yourself, if you do not want to heed other people's warnings.
1) Panel Manager would not load (so no panel when u restart the phone).
For the other files you have the description here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=410139&page=16
Also you should (have) post(ed) in a section that's designed just for you guys...

Thanks for the bad attitude reply. If you don't have anything nice to say, ignore post.
I believe I posted in the right section, if i didn't I apologies but let the admins worry about that.
Hey, come on...play fair. There's no bad attitude here, stormlv is trying to be helpful, as am I.
Another option you have is to RENAME the files with a different extension so they are no longer recognised and the OS won't know what to do with them so they won't run.
That way you can discover what the behaviour of the device is, and if it doesn't please you then you just rename them back again.
if you are not using outlook then you could try deleting that and for panel manager i am not sure because sometime before i have had panel manager crash but the panel interface still works so maybe it restarts its self when you press the panel button - as Mr Anderson said renaming the files would be a good way to test which ones you do and dont want
one should avoid deleting anything beyond the Windows folder unless you know what you are doing.
any files to delete would be stored in ur device documents folder, like pics, vids, and other stuff that i call demo files
hi all
Im new to here but also just purchased a HTC Diamond Touch. I previously had a P3600i.
Im really liking the new TF3D program however there are a couple of things that are driving me mental. EG - calender not showing upcoming events...
Now im not to good at the understanding of tweaking programs etc however is there a way I can have this?
Also I have SPB Mobile Shell and I used this for a while. I love this program however find that the battery life is drained within a day of using this (something TF3D doesnt do). I tried to add a new skin last night but it didnt work and now im wondering whether im doing something wrong.
Is someone able to give me step by step instructions on either how i can tweak TF3D to give me upcoming calender dates or how I can add different skins....
Man i really do sound new!!
Hi Noobie!
See this thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=497197. It should tell you everything you need to know/have. I use it & it's great. I currently have an appointment on my today screen for 2 July.....
for themes.... some come in cab files and you should copy these to your internal storage and open it via file explorer
for .theme files.....
download TF3D configurator, download themes and put the .theme file into a folder somewhere on your internal storage..
when you open TF3D configurator, go to the second tab, and there's a drop down menu on the top right to select the folder where you're themes are, once you've selected a theme it'll give you the option to install it.... hey presto .... a new theme!
hope it helps
thanks so much! ill have a look at the other page and will have a go at the themes!!

Is it an HTC Touch Diamond? If so, then it should have enough space.
yeh its definately a diamond...hmmmm may have to try again. I found it wouldnt remove either so had to do a hard reset...
These are my requests that I have which would actually "complete" my perfect HD2... if any members here would like to contribute some info as to how I may go about and fulfill them, then I would have much gratitude. Thanks
-Aside from the volume control that MysticGenious posted along with his taskbar, is there any other cab or registry change that will allow me to change my volume in increments of 1 as opposed to 3 bars each time? I am familiar with the paid app, but I do not want to go that route.. If mysticGenious created something that works when you use his taskbar, then I'm sure someone else has created something.
-Take the application "FootPrints" for example... Unless I have that activated on my tab screens, I am unable to create a shortcut so that I can save it on as a quicklink. This is the same with the HTC Calender App and any other tab application. If its not active in the Tab menu then the shortcuts doesn't exist. Is there a workaround? I would like to use Foot Prints, but I only want it as a quicklink, NOT as a Tab folder. I have already tried activating the tab and creating the shortcut to the quicklinks, but as soon as i removed it from the Tab Menus, it disappeared. There has got to be a way for this to happen. Cause I mean the program is there, but for some reason it only works if its active in Tabs.
-Transformers... I have tried reinstalling the Transformers cab but that didn't work. I just want to be able to click the Transformers shortcut and be able to select either 1 or 2 and then the movie instantly pops up. I have the movies saved on my sd card now, but because i moved them out of the SD card and onto my computer at one point in time, the link that connected them is no longer there. Basically I have all the components, I just need some guidance on how to make the shortcut link and work again... I'm assuming that i have to direct the file via registry editor "Total Commander" or something, I am just confused when it comes to that stuff on my HD2
and believe it or not, thats actually the only issues I have left with the phone, I'm sure that someone has a suggestion, or knows an answer... thanks a lot guys
i haven't given up hope on the members here....
anyone know any information about any of the 3 that i have listed??
*Update*
I have solved my transformers issue...

cause this is a active hd2 forum, with many users willing to help out each other right???
one can dream.....
wrt links to footprints etc
you should be able to create your own shortcuts to the applications using File Explorer. footprints.exe exists in the Windows directory, you just need to copy it and past as short cut in the windows-start menu-programs directory. These short cuts shouldn't disappear when you disable the tab.

yea you would think so right?? but unfortunately this is the case... and i'm wondering how would we be able to remedy this.. cause yea.. footprinks.lnk does not exist... until it is activated in tabs.. and even if i decide to make a shortcut of the footprints.lnk when it shows up.. the shortcuts becomes inactive one you deactivate the tab...
its WEIRD... i think what it is.. is that HTC put a lock on that application, since its one of their own.. so that it can only work if its activated under sense UI... which sucks..
but yea.. so i've already tried all the "doable" attempts... i'm basically asking someone who is more skilled to tell me whats going on... cause the developers can do amazing things.. this would be a walk in the park...

The second post will help with general info about your new HD2!
LED notifications don't seem to operate in the same way as all the other HTC devices for some reason! I only ever get a blinking green LED when I have a missed SMS, but nothing else. I have been unable to find anything the reproduces this... but a search will take you to a thread detailing a mod which will make the lights around the buttons blink on missed call/SMS/mail etc..
Delivery reports can be switched on - try using something like BSB Tweaks to toggle reports
Another search should let you find something called QuickMenu - which serves a number of purposes, amongst which is a simple task manager, which allows you to "kill" unwanted tasks from running - it also gives you a "classic" style Start button!
Hope these help!
Remember, MOST things can be found on here, so don't be afraid to search - you can almost guarantee you won't be the first person to ask!!!
Enjoy your new phone!!
LOL! By the time I had posted, someone else had beat me to it!! Plenty of ppl wanna help!!

As to the Delivery Reports im pretty sure as im with 02 i dont get them, just wondered if there was anything i could download. Thankyou for you answers though

ill do a search for that quick menu and have a look into. Thanks for the help though

A .cab is basically a "cabinet" for the software/file - you download it, or drag and drop it onto your sd card (through your pc) then click it in file explorer (on the phone) and it will extract and you can select where to install the program.
Look in the themes and apps section of this forum for lots of useful things and use the search bar

Hmmm, good point about Delivery reports on O2 - I had heard that the network doesn't offer them, but I could be wrong on that count. If I'm not, that does pose a problem because if the network doesn't send anything, there is no way of the phone knowing the result of a sent text. :-(
A .CAB file is an installation file. (Short for CABinet - an old Windows term) You would transfer the CAB to your phone and run it from there to install the relevant software contained within the CAB onto your phone.
BSB Tweaks is a program which has LOADS of tweaks and mods which can be easily selected by a simple ON/OFF interface - and makes making these small mods MUCH easier than trawling through the registry for new users!

Cd78 - Thanks for the help, ill do a search in the themes and apps and see what i can come up with. With the .Cab files if i download one and put it onto my device via the windows mobile device center then do the extraction on the phone. Will that work?
namwollem - I know thats the problem im hoping if i can get the BSB tweaks the SMS sent notification will work.
As with the BSB Tweak Thread, i cant seem to find a link to download the programme. Where can i find this? And for the installation on my HD2 is it practically the same as download a .cab file? Sorry for all the questions :/ but one last one do i need to download anything to be able to install the BSB tweaks? Its just i saw on the important note at the top of the thread that .NetCF 3.5 is required. Is this true?
Apologies for all the questions, im really not too sure how to do most of these tech things on my HD2 and i dont want to do it wrong and have an expensive brick lol
Thanks for all your help though guys you'v ebeen great

bsb tweaks can be very helpful, but do not turn on the screen sensitivity or tap time tweaks or your phone screen will be inoperable while in call....
nrfitchett4 - Thanks for the advice. And the attachment of BSB Tweaks.
So to install on my phone i would need to download the attachment and transfer the .cab file to my phone via the Windows mobile device centre and then find the .cab file through the file explorer and extract it, then follow installation. Is that right? or is there an easier way?
Sorry for the really basic questions.

If you have a PC/laptop with Bluetooth, that is probably the easiest way - its the way I move files to and fro. Or if you have a card reader on your PC/laptop, you can copy all the CABs and other files you want onto your memory card, and then transfer the card into your phone, and off you go!
As for whether BSB will enable delivery reports, thats a "No" I'm afraid, it will only react to what you network send out. I do recall reading that if you prefix your text message on O2, you could get a delivery report, how true that is I don't know, but I am sure I have read it in a couple of places. I'll have a look into it for you, and come back to you!
O2 Delivery Reports
As I am not on O2 myself, I cannot check this, but apparently, the following will allow you to receive a delivery report from the O2 network.
Start a new text message and before you begin typing your message, enter
*0# followed by a space and then your message, the other person does not see the code but you will get a message back saying when it has been delivered.

I assume by Windows Mobile Device Centre, you have either Vista or Se7en installed on your PC. I am an XP man myself, but I assume that it is essentially the same as ActiveSync (which XP uses to connect to Windows Mobile devices). Once your phone is connected, you can use the explorer to navigate "into" your device, and copy the CABs of your choice into your phone, so you can run them at your leisure.
If I have missed anything I apologise as I don't know WMDC myself, but I'm sure someone on the forum would be able to help you out on that one!

Seeing as the .NET 3.5 for Windows Mobile is freeware, hopefully posting the two CABs here will not be a problem (needless to say they are COPYRIGHT MICROSOFT).
View attachment dotnet3.5.zip <<< Download here!!
unZIP this file on your PC and transfer the two CABs to your phone, and run them. One will install the actual .NET framework itself, and the other is for error debugging and diagnosis etc..
If posting this causes a problem and a MOD removes them, a search on google should point you to another download location!

Sorry for slow reply, I've been tied up with work for the last couple of days! I don't actually use the Manila clock myself, but I have read that many people don't like the excessive flipping it does when you first goto the home screen. If this is what you mean, there is a modification which will stop it from doing that....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=583161
Otherwise, another option is to install the Cookies Home Tab, which allows you many customisations of the Manila home screen (which includes clock faces etc).!

Hope that this will help you!
