File Explorer - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Is there a better alternative to the bundled File Explorer with WM6. It seems like since WM2003, there is no improvement. Also, would like the option to access registry as well. Any free or developed in xda-developers like those of Resco.
Sorry if I posted in the wrong thread.

Total Commander for WM is free. It at least as good as Resco if not better.
One of my favorite options is the virtual 2 windows - you have a small button at the top that lets you switch between two open directories without splitting the already small screen in 2.
It also has LAN FTP and reg editor built in.

..and, with latest beta icons may be SMALLER AT LAST!
(also, there's toolbar, which you can configure).
and you may add fast access to folders AND registry branches.

Ghisler rocks.

Delete/Reset Program Histoty in startmenu

I'm now searching this board and google about this topic for several hours but still couldn't find the answer I needed.
I want to delete/remove/reset the Program history of the last used programs which is displayed in the startmenu below the userdefined icons.
See the image:

Where is the list saved? in the registry? I mean, it HAS to be saved somewhere :shock:. Othwerwise it would be some kind of magic :wink:
Thank you for any answer!
its under
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TaskSwitch
I use Resco Registry Editor to delete them, after you have to do a soft-reset
I use the utlity called Tweaks2k2 Net ..its a nice program and also it has more tweaks like changing the layout of the keyboard etc....
Thank you very much!
I normally use Total Commander to edit the registry, but I will have a look at the tools you mentioned.
Thanks again.

App for Sub-folder icons in start menu?

With all the apps and software utilities for different versions of WM, it's a bit much to navigate. I've looked far and wide for the following but haven't found anything yet. So...
Is there an app that shows sub-folders in the start menu like in WinXP (http://www.coolnerds.com/XP/StartMenu/xpStartMenu02.gif)? I organize my Program links and would like quicker access to sub-folders.
Casemon,
You can do this by going to the \windows\Start Menu\Programs\ folder and creating folders and moving the shortcuts that live here into them.
When I do it, I use activesync and go to Mobile device, and go to the windows folder there and do it. Its much easier to cut and paste the icons where you want them doing it from your Computer.
Casemon, if you want to replace the startmenu with a cascasing menu, like in your link, check out SmallMenu

V
VJ, SmallMenu worked a treat and cheap too! Thanks!

Looking for a cab..

I know it exists cause I have seen it on some screenshots.
I'm looking for a cab that adds more icons to the bottom of the today page, where the activsync and battery usually are.
By more icons I mean blue tooth and wifi buttons at the bottom with the activesync icon.
Can anyone tell me the name of the tool or point me to it?
Thanks.
im not sure but i think HTweakC is capable of putting them down there. I havent used that since I upgraded to a version of WM6 that actually has something like that cooked into it. but i remember seeing something in HTweakC that would allow you to put them down there i believe. i could be wrong tho but it was a nice lil program to have for other features
BatteryStatus or TrayLaunch ?
Maybe you're searching for BatteryStatus (Screenshots at the end of the page) or PHM TrayLaunch ? I personally prefer BatteryStatus....

a nice menu size for hp 614 - 6.5 roms - 4 icons across at 45x45 - just fits - see i

thought id share my menu gridview files with anyone who wants to change their start menu to 4 icons across with 45x45 icons ?
just about fits ... see what you think.
(just replace the attached files in windows directory - dnt forget to back up your original ones 1st)
think i need to make the txt lightly smaller
Out of interest do people prefer 3 icons across or 4 ? ( purely because I am nosey hehe)
could you post a screen shot of the arrangement?
dont have wm6.5 yet, so would like to just have a look for now

[APP] Virtual Desktop Manager

I wrote a little program that will show you what virtual desktop you are currently on with a tray icon, adds another hotkey (Ctrl-Alt-Left/Right), and will let you 'cycle' through your desktops (so if you are on your last virtual desktop #6, you don't have to Ctrl-Win-LEFT 5 times to get back to your first desktop. Just hit Ctrl-Alt-Right and you'll be there).
Here's a little gif of it in action:

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
My repo is here, PRs are more than welcome since there are a few little issues to wrangle out still.
Obviously only works on Windows 10.
Looks good! Is there any chance to implement scroll on icon to cycle desktop? I'm not sure about Win32 limitation tho.
I'll look into that. That would be a cool idea.
Cool ! i'll loking for that
can you make it so the normal hotkey will allow you to round-robin? i have 2 buttons on my mouse that i have set to move between the desktops. would be nice to have that ability through the default.
