Hi there! I just wonder what good CAB INSTALL MAKERS are out there in this days? Searching via Google and MSN does not really help because of I find almost nothing!
Any recommendations?
Personally I'm using MS CAB Wizard from Mobile SDK. There's one good 3rd party tool (can't remember its name), but it's not free.

WinCE Cabmanager is gr8, but not free. You can use it a few times (it counts the numer of program starts, so try not to close it!) to try however. For a lot of users that will do.
And if you're using it semi-professional you should buy he license....

I use Magic Button. Nice prog to view open apps in the background and is freeware. Allows quick swithing to today screen.
Also nice is Task Manager. Shows all processes and is also freeware.

a hack to move around installed programs
Anyone know a way to organise installed programs so that you can decide what folders they appear in ?
Using the File Explorer, open Windows, then Start Menu.
You will see a list of shortcuts of the same programs that you get when you click on Start.
Open the folder named Programs.
Here, you have the shortcuts to all your programs
Now, you can create new folders, cut and paste shortcuts from one folder to another...
The fastest way is to access all this through your PC via ActiveSync. It is faster to move the icons, and you can create shortcuts to programs that you had to copy directly to your XDA, and put the shortcut in the Programs menu...

Another program that I find essential for internet browsing, is PIEPlus:

I have not tried this on the Wizard (currently waiting for one) but I have used SOTI Pocket Controller extensively on many PocketPCs over the years. I find it much better than the MS tool. Not free but not expensive.

I use the attached tool for quite a while now, on wm2003, 2003se and wm5 devices, it works great.
I got it somewhere overhere i believe, so the credits go someone else..
copy the 2577 folder to the root of your storage card,
then eject, and insert the card, the first time the device will
ask if you want to run autorun, and you do, so, accept it.
from now on every time you insert your storage card, it will make a
screenshot in that folder 2577, no matter what screen you are in or app.
you are running (for as far as i know then)

Hi, someone here wrote that it is impossible to create office 2007 cab file. I tried it and here is a result... Download the cab file and install it, then reset the device. It works only on WM6 for now, but I'll try to make it for WM5 too.
Tested on Wizard WM6 (5.2.318 Build 15342.0.0.0).

on my wm5 device i can install it with onenote 2007 on my pc.
what is new in this app? the normal notes application seems to be more useful.

I used cabwiz.exe for ppc and the *.inf file, because I think that it's the best way of making cabs...

Works on a SDK-image too, but only on the English ones. I tried it on a Dutch SDK, but that won't work.
Installation worked flawless on my German WM6 ROM with my Herald. No Problems opening a .docx file, but Excel won't start at all.

How did it only take 5 - 6 MB of Storage Memory. Mine dropped from 20.11mb down to 6.91mb. . . WAAAYYY too much for me. Too bad, too. . . it was working flawlessly . . . and I really wanted the OneNote app, too.
Disregard that. . . DOH!! After I deleted the .cab file, I gained back almost 7MB of Storage Space. . . a little more "liveable" now.

that why anyone use on rom...if you dont have office 2007 on your pc...is beter keep the old
Running WM6 Business Edition.
Took about 6mb of space on my phone.
All 4 apps ran fine.
I could not remove it using the remove programs control panel app.

I am looking for Baniaczek's Pocket MSN which I installed in my Windows 6 Pocket PC and now I want to install it in my Tornado Windows 6 smart phone. I know I found it some where here on either Hermes or Tornado Forums. But I can't find it. Please help.
I don't like Live Messenger I just want Pocket MSN and the reason I want Baniaczek's is cause the other pocketmsn.cab files I found here for some reason install but don't work. and I get errors like Instmsgr can not be found. And even if I do find and run it I get the same error. Also it is not appearing in ADD/REMOVE programs. Only Baniaczek's version works fine in my pocket pc so now I need it for my Smart Phone

is this Baniaczek's pocket msn and will it work in my Tornado Smart phone?
I managed to install it. And now this version is added in the Remove programs. But Instant messenger has error "Can't find Instmsg" or one of it's components. The other options work. I guess pocket msn is only compatible with PPC and not smartphones.
Is it possible to run Phone Suite with the TouchFlow system on a Jade? I used Phone Suite on my last device and really liked it, as it was just a standard Artimis with WM6 on it. Overall I much prefer the TF on my Jade but miss a couple of the options like Profiles, Black/White lists for callers and Repeat Alerts.

Yes , i have it too and work very fine..
I've tried to install it TWICE! The first time using the .exe file Activesync and the senond time copying the .cab file and opening it on the device. Each time I did a sofet-reset after and I've yet to see it on my list of programs. I've chosen to install to the Card rather than the Device as that was how I had it on my Artimis. Any ideas?
