Sounds stopped working completly, i was using mp3`s and now even with everything up full i`m getting no sound, i`ve just had to do a complete reset, as i thought there may be something i`d overlooked so i decided to start afresh, still no joy though.
Anyone shed some light plz.. No reason it should be hardware as it`s not been dropped or anything
Thanks..
ok update
It works ok out of the headphone jack, so i guess the speaker is borked... still cant see why it would be though !
Hi. A friend of mine has the same problem. no sound on the headphones.
Have you already sort the problem?
Thank you
I dropped my magician when i stepped out of my car.
The problem now it that my sound isn't working anymore. The back speaker as well as the ear speaker are both dead. I disassembled the phone, cleaned all the contacts with alcohol and bend the ear speaker contacts a little bit up, but still nothing. When i connect the headset i can hear sound and make a phonecall.
Another thing is that i hear a high frequenty sound coming from the screen. I only hear it when my ear is near the screen. Never had that before.
Maybe you can help me! I want my baby back working again. So if you have any suggestion i can try..

My refurbished MDA does that [t-mobile replacement after my one 'went wrong [see below]']. I dont remember the previous out of box one doing it though.

Since disasembling my phone, cleaning everything and putting it back together not fixed my problem I put the phone on my desk. It just layed there not working. Till this morning... i picked it up again and knowing it is not working but out of frustration I just try again. And to my suprise. It Works again! My sound is back?? How the hell is that possible... I tried shaking the device to see if there was maybe a lose contact. But how hard i shake the damn thing. It keeps working. 8)
Anyway, I'm happy again Only thing left is the strange sound coming from my screen, but I can live with that.
I own an TyTN with Windows 6 (HTC official) installed some months aga and recently I have problems with the speaker.
I can not hear ringtones, music, Tomtom voice, alarms, etc. but I can hear a phone conversation when somebody call me.
I've revised the 'Configuration > Sounds and Notifications' and I have the sounds activated. I did a hard reset and before to touch or install nothing I've checked with no succes.
Could somebody help me please?

Sounds like the loudspeaker is dead. Just double check in the volume control to see if you have the slider set higher than zero - but it may well be a hardware issue.
Could well be the rear speaker connection has slipped off - not uncommon and an easy fix - see here (oh and a search would have produced several results for this problem):

Mike
Thanks a lot!!
It seems it will be a hardware problem
I've seen all the related threats before but I was hoping that somebody could give me a clue to fix some software bug.
Mike, I've been last summer in Scotland (and I visited Aberdeen too) It is a wonderfull land. I was surprised and delighted with the beautifull landscapes.
Thanks and regards,
Jordi (from Barcelona)
my sound had turned off today too.. ive tried to get inside my hermes and the connector was disconnected from themainboard (my tytn was droped down seriosuly many times ) after conecting everything is ok it takes around 3 minutes to fix that
wish u luck

Please help.
I have an issue with people can not hear me ... If I plug in a headset, and talk through a plugged in Mic then they can hear me. I can hear them very well.
Any help is appreciated.
i have Abusalza's RBSN.V27 ROM/ Radio 1.47.30.10, protocol VER 32.80.7020.20H
I am technically very challenged, but have searched your site and can't find the answer so if I've missed something then I apologise ....!
I have a treo 750 on vodafone, who are not helping as they upgraded me to another model but I went back to using the palm instead of the new upgrade phone.
Suddenly the sounds gone during calls. I can use it on loudspeaker, but not without. Apparently I can be heard, but I can't hear anything except the odd crackle in and out of conversation.
If you can help please I'd be so grateful. I can't believe flippin Vodafone know NOTHING about these phones. All they would say is why am I still using it!
This is the Palm Pro section, not the 750
Did you try a hard reset? If the internal speaker is not working after a hard reset than your speaker might be broken!
thats funny...
my sounds for incoming calls are not working too on my pro.
Have no idea but I do have a wild guess.. ..older HTC devices had a problem that the headset switch inside the device would get stuck. As a result the internal speaker stopt working. Solution was to blow in the headphone hole..
hi there
i have a Hermes, exactly the T-Mobile version..
anyway it worked fine till one day i got no sound at all, no mp3 no notifications, nothing....
except the boot up sound... checked the forums, seems it's a common problem, and i figured that the rear speaker works (since the boot up sound comes from it), the speaker cable is connected so i have no clue... if it would be broken, than the boot-up sound wouldn't come at all from the rear speaker, riight?
changed like 5-6 ROMs so far, from 6 to 6.5, no changes with sound...
any clue guys what to do?
I'd need to solve this asap...
thx for any solution
can please someone at least confirm me if my rear speaker is dead or not?
cos i hear the boot up sound from it but no other sounds...
please ,its urgent, thx
Well, the first thing that i would consider doing is backup my important data and do a hard reset....why don't you try that too....?
okay
got from ebay a new speaker... changed it and it doesnt work either...
hard reset and changing the ROM (6-7 of them) didn't help...
at beginning the sound could be heard at boot only while playing music, ringing and that stuff was mute... after 2 days the sound at boot disappeared too...
so, does anyone have a solution? when i plug the microUSB to 3.5mm adapter i can hear the sound on my earphones, but there is no sound when played normally on the ppc itself...
can anyone help me to solve this? where could be the problem?
thanks
okay...
going mad really... now i flashed an original AT&T US rom (although i have a tmobile EU) and guess what.... i hear the sound back again, but only at boot up... other sounds in winmo (ring, mp3, music, programs) are dead... can't hear anything although the volume is set at max...
so... i assume this can't be a hardware issue..
before this ATT i changed like 6 more different roms and all with same problems... now i have sound only at bootup... does anyone know where is the problem and a possible solution?
thanks
cmon guys... don't tell me no one has no idea what to do.....
i've been flashing and reflashing the roms but so far i can get only the boot up sound... any other sound is not available.. why? how to repair it?
thx
it's funny to see you can ask sometimes questions no one knows to answer
you've tried it by using the head set...?
whether the results were the same as well (no sound)..?
when using a headset (extUSB) there is sound and everything is normal...

you'd better check the speakers on your device , may be the connecting cable is damaged and if necessary you replace ....
I have the same problem here!!!Have you fixed that??Can you suggest me something, please???
Hi all... new here
I also have the same problem on my AT&T 8525. The Telephone speaker works but the phone doesn't ring or give audio notifications any longer. I've done a hard reboot 3 times. Bluetooth audio works fine. But no speakerphone. If anyone has a solution we'd appreciate it!
Thanks!!!

you see in the WIKI, because there is described several ways to increase the BT A2DP sound quality and sound notification by Changing the Registry
