herald uspl-beta3 and jumpspl both can make us flash any roms.
as we know htc 4350 and dopod c800 or c858 are the same devices.but them have different cid info.
if ....if I use jumpspl to load a bootloader which jump the cid lock, and flash the whole htc 4350 rom into dopod c800,
maybe I am not crazy, but I think the cid info in dopod will be changed into htc4350's cid info.and after this, this devices can flash herald's rom the same with herald.(right?)
my biggest question is will it work? will it safe for those people with dopod?

Hello ya'all. This is my first post so first of all I'd like to congratulate you for the excellent site and forum !
There is a lot of resource info around here ! Great Job !!!
But unfortunately for some new people getting into this new world of WMobile even what it looks simple to you might be slightly blurred to us.
I bought in France a HTC P3300
IPL 1.12.0001
SPL1.12.0000
GSM 02.67.90
OS 1.12.00
ROM 1.12.406.1.FRE
RADIO 02.67.90
PROTOCOL 4.1.13.28
ROM EXT V.1.12.406.101
ARTE 100
Of course the WM came in French. Well I am willing to change it to WWEnglish and I've been doing my homework researching and reading, reading, reading through this website. Found the steps to do it thanks to Kleinemeus at this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=290241 and found the DOPODAU and LOVE ROMS as well the Extended Rom in the ftp site. As well as I found my P3300 is the same as MDA compact III, XDA Orbit, P800W, Dopod P800 ....
But I still a couple of silly doubts that I gonna ask for you MASTERS your mercy to clarify me with your wisdoom and expertise.
1) After flashing my P3300 with a English ROM will it have all same basic features/programs I have in French like, the radio, tomtom gps, etc ? In other words, doing this is like getting a desktop that came with windows in french and installing a windows in english ?
2) After being successful of flashing the Rom following the steps described in the link above by Kleinmeus how can I upgrade the Extended Rom found at the ftp ?
I really appreciate if someone could help me with these 2 questions.
Thanks in advance !!!
It should work
Be careful when flashing becos many ppl cant get it right.
If you manage to flash it successfully you should have almost the same functionality.
I dnt know abt the ROM.
Is ur phone CID unlocked? If not do it before u change the ROMS.It will be a big disaster if u get stuck in between and u cant do anything.
Yups, you'll have all the basic apps that are part of WM5.
Regarding TomTom or other Commercial GPS applications, these are not part of WM5 package and are installed by supplier, so you'll have to confirm whether the ROM that you are planning to flash has that specific GPS app.
Regardinf Extended ROM, these come as part of ROM that you will plan to flash. Usually people only take some specific apps/patches from other Extended ROM that wasn't part of supplied/flashed ROM (i guess I am right about this)
This is a patched SPL for HTC Artemis devices (HTC P3300 / T-Mobile MDA compact III / O2 XDA Orbit / Dopod P800W / Dopod P800 / Dopod M700 / Orange SPV M650).
This SPL is based on original Artemis 1.11 SPL but includes 3 patches:
SuperCID / SecLevel=0 (set 32)
Does not check Model ID
Does not check signature*
(*) code must be formally signed i.e. contain properly-formated signatures on their places, however no checking are performed against them.
This means you can flash ANY ROM to your Artemis after flashing USPL on it, no need to pay for CID unlock anymore!

Thanks again pof, you make all Artemis users very happy! you are the best!
Has anyone tried this method yet. Don't really want to be the first one with a "BRICK" if it all goes wrong...........but oh what a stylish brick it would be!

honestly mate... if its released by pof then he has tested it... as he is a moderator and his cred is one of the highest here... jesus... just try it...
Thank you for those kind words. I do not doubt pof's credibility. I also do not doubt that he has tested this program. I am just the unlucky person who would try this and get the thing all wrong and end up with a brick. I am quite good this way.
Please, it would appear my last message was doubting pof's abilities. That is definately not the case.
POF, I apologize to you, please though understand where I am coming from. Thank you.

i do understand where you come from... but as you can see 4 other people have downloaded the program and tested it... if there was an issue im sure they would have voiced it...
Possible any changes in start_uspl.exe?
As first many thanks for your help and for the many time that you invest in the development some tools.
Now my question:
It is possible that you make a update for your developed tool "start_uspl" so that the updater function even if the phone are connected in bootloader modus?
I think that is the solution for some bricked phones after updates with locked CID.

Sorry but not possible, it first transfers patched SPL through activesync and places it on phone memory, and needs WinCE for that. If you already have a brick that tool will not help you.
THANKS

Yes, does not depend on anything. Will work as long as you can set up a guest partnership on activesync with your device.
THank you.
It works great. I just flashed a HTC rom to my O2 Orbit with no problems.
how to name the file with rom ?
USPL vs. other methods.
USPL vs. other methods.
One of the key benefit of USPL compared to other methods, is that USPL enables you to flash any ROM version, regardless of your device model ID.
To minimise a risk it is recommended to have USPL installed before flashing device with modified WM6 ROM or any other constructed ROMs.
In case of failure, you will be able to re-flash your device with any desired ROM version for ARTEMIS.

Before my playing, i backuped the original os.nb by using awizard.
My question is:

2) I search for the web for the long time and now RUU packet available. I need a Dopod C800 Hong Kong Chinese Traditional. Is anyone available?

Welcome in CLub - and please be so kind to read, read, read.
There is NO possibility to falsh a bricked device without the official RUU in your language.
So please....
Sorry - no luck for you.

Thanks for Papamopps's advice. Yup, i did read numbers of posts, but seemed that only herald have no CID unlocker. Do you think because number of users of herald are limited...??
I phoned CS of dopod HK , but they claimed they no RUU ROM available publicly and asked me to send it to them...
bad luck...

lol
Not the number of user is the problem. BUT the newer device. For Hermes they got a prefactured Bootloader - becuase they were triying some new ones.
For herlad they took the newest bootloader and that can only be passed by original signed nbh files or with the original language OS.
So they only learned how to saves their devices.
The only way is to crack the imei-check way of unlocking. But they won´t take 30$ when it is such easy to unlock.
lol. SO we have to wait for official updates and then start cooking and flashing by asergs way.
Just seen a post on Mobility which link to htc where they are offering WM6 upgrade at htc web site as stated below in Mobility.:
If you own a TyTN, you have great news … there is an upgrade for your device at the HTC site. If you have not already setup your eClub account there, you will need to do so to get the upgrade (BTW, it is a fast, easy process that provides you with a slew of benefits … so do it if you have not already).
Of course you need to remember that a ROM upgrade will erase ALL information so if you need something make sure you back up that data!!
You can get your TyTN WM6 upgrade here at the HTC website
http://member.htc.com/member/login.aspx?fm=eu&ln=en
One point it is for htc badged only. I have a v1605 variant so it does not show it for me yet and Vodafone do not know when they will release. I even told Vf that O2 had just announced their variant on the same Mobility site for their version of the Hermes.........
You missed to check the ............trillions............ posts about Official WM6 TyTN Upgrade from HTC here ON XDA-DEVS before posting..!!!!!!!!!!
For more info about your situation check Wiki and devs/hermes/hermes Mobile 6 thread....
Have FUN
I read this forum every day and have not seen "trillions" of posts on this yet.
And in this particular forum I've seen a grand total of zero posts on it.
Chill out.
sure man - try the search...

You can flash these ROMs on any version of the Hermes.
And if you don't like rapidshare:

Guys, first of all, thanks for the forums, this is great.
I got my hands on a pre-production herald unit and I have a couple of questions. First of all, here is what I see when I soft-reset:
IPL 3.80.001
SPL 3.80.001
GSM 02.69.90
OS 3.80.0.0
It's unbranded and the serial number starts with TY so HTC's e-club doesn't want to accept it ... here are my questions:
1. Can I CID unlock it and use the latest WM6 roms?
2. I put a 6GB microSD card in there and it'll only see 1.7GB. If I use the sdhc.77 cab file, it works for a while, and eventually stops workings (files disapear). I soft reset, and everything comes back to normal for a couple of minutes.
Can someone help me out?
Well id HTC e-club does not accept your serial number, is because your herald is branded with a phone provider's rom! I had that problem too.
When you start up your phone, doyou see your phone provider's company name?
That's a giveaway that it is cid locked!
Upgrading to wm6 does not cid UNlock your device! Everyone is waiting for the HARD-SPL to really work.
But untill then, the easiest way to free yourse;f from wm5, is to install touch-it 1.1 and then you have a nice wm6 rom on your herald.
thanks for the reply. No, it's not branded at all ... like I said, it's preproduction unit.
Is my radio version new enough for me to upgrade? Will the phone still work afterwards?
yes, it is!
