I have a mayor problem. I just fu*ked up my phone by installing WM6.
Now the screen freezes when the QTEK "Keep the world in one" logo is visible with the OS Version information. Hard reset wont work.
How can I restore the original rom ?
Please help me!

To go in the boot loader screen you have to:
press & hold camera and commmanager button
press the softreset hole
release the commmanager button and keep hold the camera button until the 3 colours display appear

don't worry, your device isn't bricked as long as you can run it in bootloader
check in WIKI if you have G3 or G4 Prophet

And wiki didn't help so far...
Take it easy and flash the ROM as described. Use any WM5 ROM compatible with your device, but preferrably one with no vendor ID. In case you cannot update normally use the RUU-No-Vendor-ID application found in the FTP.
As said above the device is not dead, it can be recovered.

Thank you for your help. I installed the rom dezzer advised (post 7 of this thread) and it worked fine. Does that mean tha NOW i can flash smart1 1.3's?
Yep. Turn off the phone, make it sync with activesync and run UPDATE_ROM.bat.
Then cross your fingers Kidding. It will surely work. Remember to hard-reset after the upgrade.
If anything goes wrong just reflash WM5 and hard-reset. Always hard-reset after ANY OS upgrade.
hello everyone. i just bought a g3 wich remains stuck in the ipl/spl screen. i tried VIPPIE 's tutorial (many thanks man for ur work) and flash button rom 1.05 to revive the phone. it flashed without any error , but same result. phone doesnt pass the ipl/spl screen. next i tried to flash Xda_MiniS_LaunchROM_v154102, flashed ok but nothing happend. i m just stuck on the ipl/spl screen. the phone isnt bricked but i can not start it to do a soft spl and flash it. any ideas ?
because it s an o2 xda mini s , i thought an original o2 rom would do the trick (start the phone) but i couldnt find an original rom (tried the xda dev ftp page and the o2 one).

Is it the Bootloaders screen(Tricolor) with IPL/SPL or initial loading screen with ipl/spl ?
What ipl/spl...? it displays at the moment ?
You can try to get into Bootloaders mode (tricolor screen) by pressing and holding down the camera button and press the Soft Reset button at the same time with the stylus or turn off the phone and while pressing and keeping holding down the camera button,Power On the phone,it'll wake up and go into Bootloaders (tricolor screen).if it goes into bootloaders,connect your phone to the pc via usb and check if small usb appears at the bottom of the bootloaders screen,if its there run the Ruu to flash,But first post your present ipl/spl..? here.

well, in my case , after button rom flashes wizard displays IPL 1.01 SPL 1.03 and after i flash the xda_mini_launch_rom it displays IPL 1.03 SPL 1.05 . NOT SPL 2.xx as mentioned in the tutorial . why ?

i get it into bootloader with the camera + on button , bot the active sync on the systray , doesnt activate, it remains grey (like no device is connected). weird stuff.
yesterday i just upgraded a g4 wizard to wm6 and everything went smooth , an now

ok,after flashing button's rom or xda_mini you'll certainly have an ipl/spl 1.xx,cuz these roms have actually ipl/spl 1.xx,they are aku 1.xx roms,it's required to have ipl/spl 1.xx to use lokiwiz02b tool to SIM/CID unlock the phone,only then it can be upgraded to any wm6 roms.But to upgrade to wm6 its essential to have ipl/spl 2.xx,so to get to ipl/spl 2.xx,you have to flash your phone with T-mobile 2.26,then it'll show an ipl/spl 2.xx as required,ok

thanks mate , but in order to do the lokiwiz soft spl i need to have a working phone (i need to write the cab into my phone and execute). by doing so , my phone needs to work after flashing the button rom or the xda mini launch rom (right?). but mine , after flashing, remains in the ipl/spl screen (not the bootloader).
if i flash an o2 xda mini original rom , do i have a chance to revive the phone and to start it in order to apply the lokiwiz soft spl ?
Activesync will not work in bootloaders mode,bootloaders cut off the activesync,you can only verify the connectivity between your phone and pc,if in bootloaders,connect the phone to the pc via usb cable and check if small usb appears at the bottom of the bootloaders,if its there then just flash the rom,there's no need to establish connection through activesync,ok

YES ! first of all you got to have a working OS on the phone to activesync,only the you can perform with lokiwiz02b,ok
ok , so what should i do in order to start it succesfully and use lokiwiz. i cant find an original o2 rom and button rom or launch rom doesnt start my phone. what can i do ?
the o2 roms were deleted from xda dev ftp

after a lot of searching and digging, i found the missing xda dev ftp O2 original roms . i flashed Xda_MiniS_LaunchROM_v154102 , everything went ok , same result. doesnt pass the ipl spl screen. tried RUU_Wizard_1050402_101_11210_O2_ENG and same thing. im getting really confused. my pc responses when i connect the wizard, it flashes with no errors , but it wont start. what can i try more ?
ohh, i have made a new nasty descovery: when i keep pressed down the comm button and the voice button and press the reset with stylus, the phone turns off and restarts in spl/ipl screen instead of hard resseting. is it really messed up ?
I'm afraid m8,it has most probably some hardware issues,better get it checked by some techy or mobile repair shop.

I went to a store this evening in order to unlock my Polaris. The owner of the store has got a HTC herald with a problem that he wanted me to solve.
He tried to install another rom on his herald but, due to an unsuccessfull rom upgrading, the HTC is locked on a RGB screen (red green blue) with the only following indications:
RUU
IPL 1.08.0001
SPL 1.08.0001
USB (or nothing when not plugged)
Would you mind helping me? I tried several Roms, and there was only one that seemed to work (ROM HERALD_ smiley sWWE.gif _6.1.405.13_BUILD 20764.1.4.3): It gave me a progress bar on the HTC frozen at 0% while the upgrading tool on the pc told me that I needed a more recent upgrading tool.
What can I do?

Before installing cooked ROMs I believe the phone must be HardSPL'ed, and this can only be done if the SPL/IPL is 4 or above - any lower/not HardSPL'ed and the device will be bricked. The screen you are describing is the bootloader, and since you only have an IPL/SPL of 1.x I'm pretty sure you can't install custom ROMs. To unbrick the device, turn it onto the bootloader and then load the original HTC ROM that came with the device.

I tried several times to enter in bootloader, but it's impossible as it starts with the bootloader menu! I can't change anything about that, even by soft resets, reset+camera, reset+buttons...

As I am stucked with 1.08.0001 SPL, There is nothing to do. All the users who tried to unbrick their phone didn't got it working, except one who changed the motherboard for... 200$ ! The price of a used HTC Herald in very good conditions!

sorry to say sir but your ipl and spl should have been 4.0 or higher and also HardSPL'ed. i'm pretty sure your device is bricked. GL on finding a way to fix it or buying a new one. =D
Nounou7701, though you cannot flash a cooked ROM with IPL/SPL 1.x you can definitely flash the official ROM from HTC.

He didn't head the warning of the SPL requirements. You can easily revive it using the GoldCard method. (Search for the term "goldcard herald".)
HTC P4350 do not switch on after a bad SPL
I've tried to flash my Hera 100 P4350 with HardSPL Herald, but I got an error message it has switched off and I can't get my mobile switched on again.
It looks like completly dead (kaput).
Can anyone help me ? Or explain why that happened ?

SPL 1.08.0001 screen but with no USB on the lower left corner of the screen
After arrived here what shoul I do to reinstall my P4350 ?

but the stupidity that i did was.... i installed a charmer version in the wizard and now its stuck in the logo screen. :S

can u see the bootlload mode??
is a coloured screen (varoius colors in horizontal bars)
if is possible then, flash again, with a wizard ROM now...

bro... its not the 4coloured screen...
its the screen written "IMATE" and its only blue...
and to flash with a new rom i need to sync my wizard with the PC... but my wizard is stuck in the one color (blue with the imate logo) screen...
To sync with your pc you must be at bootloader (tricolor) screen.
I took the following from the Wizard Wiki.

I try to answer... (sorry for my bad english)
1. Make sure your battery up to 50%, 100% is recommended...
2. turn off u'r PPC
3. press camera,talk, and power button at the same time for a second until your display show 3 colour....
4. plug your cable data from PPC to desktopPC, and make sure your display show "USB", and try to re-flash with other ROMS.....

I have a Wizard G4 and I tried to install a WM6.5 ROM (TechTeamup Mega Wizard rom) from the default WM5. I did not put in the hard-spl (as I now read) before I tried to flash. Now when it boots, I go strait to the flash screen (tri-color) screen. I tried ot run the hard-spl-G4 and it says it cannot find a device. I have tried to re-flash back to WM5 ROMs that I have found, however it says it cannont complete "ERROR 296: UPGRADE ONLY, which makes me belive I need a G4 Wizard ROM that is a full (not upgrade). What steps should I take now to revert back to a WM5 so I can re-try the "unlock" hard-spl proceedure to make the phone WM6 compatible?
Anyone have any suggestions?

Download the original ship ROM for your phone.
Turn the phone off.
Press and hold the Camera key, now insert the USB cable, Keep holding the camera key until you get the boot loader screen.
Now run the ROM update to flash back to WM5.

I brick my wizard too... What happened was I flashed my own cook of m6r5 it say successful but on reboot, it shows htc logo then stays ay tricolor screen:

Bootloader wont work..tried many times but I cannot connect to PC...
Tried ricozy post above, can access 3 color... but still cannot connect to PC...

IF u can enter bootloader...connect to pc...u shud c "USB" written in the left bottom corner ...then flash a rom as usual
