I recently uninstalled wisbar advance and desktop.
It must not have uninstalled correctly, because after i deleted the remaining files, i recieve a notification every time that i unlock/turn on my phone that says
"Cannot Execute \Program Files\Lakeridge\Wisbar Advance Desktop\wakeup.exe"
How do i solve this problem?

I think it would be better to ask for help in the forums of lakerigdesoftware!
But maybe someone here can help you as well!

i just got an idea. Would it be possible to write a dummy program that does nothing but DOES resolve the requirements?
From what i understand, the program is triggered, and then the program directs the next action, no?
it would probably cause more problems than it solves.
I suspect its hidden in the registry somewhere and its probably trying to call it to do "theme" stuff on wake up. If its not there any more and the phone operates fine once youve cancled the error then i would recommend taking a registry backup and trying to fish it out of the registry.
out of interest what version wisbar was it, im running v3 here i could try and see if i can find anything in the reg
using file explorer go into windows/startup and see if you still have w.a in there, if you do delete it.
no w.a in startup, i've already deleted references in the registry
This app is cursed for real, I have the same issue. At least (for me) is just that little pop screen when I unlock the phone.
yeah thats the same problem i have.
annoying.

I think my phone needs an exorcism.

sadly, they've yet to find a solution. i've made another thread here asking for somebody to program me a dummy exe.

Hi all,
My Vario II kepps telling me that it's trying to run a programme when it switches back on to the today screen from standby.
I can't find this application (I'm pretty sure its from a previously removed programme) in windows/start menu/ or, windows/startup
It also doesn't appear in the today screen anywhere.
Anyone any ideas where it might be located, or how to remove it?
Thanks
Ratzz
Notifications
Try using MemMaid or some similar software to look in the notification queue, there are events that can happen when the PPC come out of standby - maybe there is one in there for the app that is being called.
You never mentioned what the app was....
Charlie Grillo
Hi Charlie,
Boy, that was a quick reply!
I will give MemMaid a go - the application was part of TomTom which I removed.
Ratzz
The file is called 'services' and is located in the windows directory.
Has anyone else got this file in their directory? Do I need it?
Thanks
Ratzz

BTW, I used 'Mobile TaskManager v1.4.5' for what it's worth - a good little freeware tool.
hi everybody!
I have a problem...
Everytime, i wakeup my hermes, there is a message (i have to translate it into english
"Canot execute \Program Files\Liakeridge\Wisbar advance desktop\wakeup.exe"
thats funny, becaus i tryed wisbar desktop and deleted it directly... so i havn't installed it so far...
I tryed to rename an other app to "wakeup.exe" and put it there...
It works, but its not the best way when you wakeup your hermes and an useless app starts directly.
can you help me, how to fix this?
Sorry for my bad english
u said u deleted it? it seems to me that you installed wisbar advance and wakeup.exe was one of the parts to it that started up when you woke it up.
did you uninstall/remove wisbar properly? or just delete it? because that seems that there are still links to it in the registry.
UNINSTALL through 'remove programs' (or install it and then uninstall. see if that works.)
hey.
Thank you for your fast help, but i deinstalled the programm properly...
I only use the normal wisbar advance, and i tryed the desktopversion for 5 min and removed it than with the activsync tool.
Do someone has an other idea?
It sounds like de-installing the Wisbar Advance Desktop app might've messed something up with Wisbar Advance 2.
There are several things you might do to correct the situation, but without direct knowledge regarding what WAD needs installed vs what WA2 needs, I think it would probably be best to bring this question to the programs' author, Chris McKay.
Try reaching him on one of the forums he keeps at http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=23

Yes, SKTools Cleaning wizard will remove broken shortcuts, and that is the problem that you described. The question comes to mind, though, as to whether WA2 needed the app that the particular shortcut pointed to.
I guess in your case, it did not, and as such, WA2 is still working satisfactorily.

should be a bunch of files. delete the ones you don't want (or the ones that have systray icons)

awesome, so intsall the cab 1st then do that?
nah. you can install the cab OR do that
or you can do both. it doesn't really matter. Cleaning out the startup folder increases your ram too, though

Has anyone removed these from the programme? I would love to keep my X1 as clean as possible, and i am just wondering would anything happen if i remove these programme since i will not be using them at all.
YES, u can no problem.
Yep no problem.
When I did it through remove programs the handango left some file or reg entry behind though, and everytime I started the device it would give a warning.
I used a reg editor to delete a single reference in the registry and a few files in program files I believe and now handango is truly gone

ive tried removing that stupid handangoinhand twice and both times after soft reset i get a warning too. had to hard reset twice bcos of this.
what reg editor did u use? so now u dont get that warning anymore?
I did so but everytime I turn on the x1 the nagging screen saying something like this "one of the component of the Handango in hand is missing, try install it again..,"
well, just press ok and it will go away
it may be good to leave the program in the x1
you need to manualy remove it from the start up folder to get rid of the notification of missing file

there was no need to hard reset. simply delete handango component from-
windows/stratup.
You should not have had to do a hard reset … after uninstalling the handango applications using the add/remove programs control panel, using File Explorer go into /windows/startup items and delete the handango shortcut. What is happening is the shortcut which executes on start up doesn't find the app and registers the error.
Haven't worked out how to delete the Getting Started app yet??
tnx guys. will try that. still fairly new to ppc.
though i would hv figured this out myself if i had this problem on my pc. lol.
hmm, i just removed this program and after soft reset i got no warnings.. Did not remove anything from startup folder either.
Swedish phone, might be the difference?
.. im not saying that this is NOT a good thing
Thanks for the tips guys, got the Handago out in seconds. Still, any idea on how to remove "getting started", msn and all that other junk?
Hi all,
I've got an app that includes a send/receive using MessagingApplication.Synchronize(). It works fine, but shows the inbox and this has to be closed manually. Ideally I'd rather just not have anything visible.
Does anyone know any way to do this?
Thanks in advance
You could use Mortscript. I have Blackberry Connect on my TD2. Every time I soft reset, I get a new email in the System folder. I don't want to bother to delete this manually, so I use Mortscript to delete it. To do this, I run send/receive (from Mortscript) and then exit the email again using Mortscript. Here is the words you will need to add to your mortscript. If you are not familiar with this program, please google mortscript.
Run("Program Files\SendRecieveAll.exe")
Sleep ( 3000 )
MouseClick 455,27
I have put it in a mortscript file for ease. If you download mortscript and then use file explorer to click on the attached file, it should work. I have tested it.
Edit - this is assuming you have put the SendReceiveAll.exe in your Program folder on your device, if not then do that. By the way, unzip the attachment. By the way, where in England is "Twatt"? I think I'd like that place, but is it wet there??

Oh how ironic! Lol
Thanks a lot for the suggestion mate. I was actually looking for a way of doing a send/receive for all email accounts. I'd got that far, but it insisted on showing the inbox while it was doing it, and I wanted it to be invisible, hence this thread.
From your post though, I noticed that you were pointing at an application that does exactly that!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=501254
Thanks mate - you've pointed me in the right direction and stopped me inventing the wheel.... AGAIN!
Oh yeah.... here's Twatt. It's usually wet, but the weather's really terrible for a week every month

Oh, how funny (where you live)!
The SendReceiveAll program is very good. It's not invisible though and it does not exit the email after running hence the mortscript.... Just close your eyes after running it and you will never know it ran at all, except you will have new emails.....
