Changing picture/video filenames? - Wing, P4350 General

Whenever I take a picture or a video, I set it to save the file with the prefix "Date and Time". Unfortunately, I don't like the way the prefix is set up. It pushes the entire date and time into one huge prefix (very annoying, might I add). By default, it would take a picture/video and name it "20071010071730_001" (yyyymmddHmm_#) and I want it to read something like "10-10-07_1730:001" (mm-dd-yy_Hmm:#). Simple, easier to read, and less fuss.
I was wondering if there was a way to change the format of the Date and Time prefix? I can't seem to find the registry key to change it.

photographer's app?

I am looking for an app to assist with medium/large format photography. Currently I use a spreadsheet to note the various settings for each frame, however there was an app (photoassist) I used on my old WM5 device that had drop down menus, though it doesn't work on the TP2.
Something that can also use the phone's camera as a lightmeter would be great too.

I second that I would love to not buy another Gossen Digipro F I would even through a $100 bounty on this. That will still save me $170.
Resco Photo Viewer can handle .raw, .tiff, .png, etc... files. Spb Imageer can do the same.
However, large format photos are going to cause extreme issues. The OS has a memory limitation of 32MB, so anything approaching that size will cause your device to crash...
Could you perhaps elaborate on a feature set you're looking for in this application? If I understand correctly you're wanting a way to record information about your individual frame settings, not a way to view or arrange these images on your device, correct?
I'm not promising anything, but depending on your requirements I might be able to assist you in creating an application that suits your needs.

Yes, it would be a pretty simple app. Basically there would be multiple drop down fields that are prepopulated with different values based the prior selection, some thing like-
Film size- 120/220/4x5/8x10, then presuming 120 is selected, brings up the next field,
Image format- 6x6/6x7/6x9/6x17, then presuming 6x6 is selected, brings up
Film type- Negative/Color Reversal/B&W, then
ISO- 50/100/160/200/etc, and so forth.
The above would be "master fields" that are global to the film I select, and subfields would then include the frame #, aperture, shutter speed, EV, etc.
All the info would then be recorded into a spreadsheet or database for later viewing.
The side app to turn the phone's camera into a lightmeter would be as simply as providing a live output of EV (exposure value) based on what the camera is seeing. A plus would be if it could output ISO/shutter speed/aperture values too, but we'll take things one at a time.

Camera- image filename???

Ive been looking for an option to set what the filename of photos are but i cant seem to see it. I pretty sure there isnt one, which is kinda disapointing. It woiuld be nice to be able to set it so pictures area easier to find when backed up.
I have t in the park coming uip (working) and it would be good to be able to set the filename to t in the park day 1, and so on for easy uploading to our webnsite and facebook.
when i had the g1 i could do this no problem.
IM starting to regret not waiting on the desire coming back in stock. the large screen just isnt making up for all the things its lacking in software.
ok i found that you can enable prefix for storage card, but i dont want date prefixing, i want custom one
Do you just want to change the file name? Open the image in the album, bring up the controls for the picture, hit the right most icon, Properties, and Rename is located on the right softkey.
No i want to set a prefix so that my photos can be orginised better. isnteam of imagennn i want for instance, t in the parknnn.
So i can basically set it, take pictures, then change it to something else etc

strange ringtone question...

I have a lot of ringtones on my phone, and for whatever reason I change them all the time, am constantly adding new ones, etc. etc.
Everytime I do so having to scroll through the whole horrible list of sounds I would never allow to come out of my phone is a bit annoying, so I was trying to think of a way to get them to all at least stack at the top.
Apparently the Android OS attempts to outsmart dumb people by removing underscores, and ignoring periods for the purposes of ringtones. Fortunately starting all filenames with a zero still works.
This, however is a bit obnoxious, and I was just wondering if anybody had suggestions as to characters I can prefix the filenames with that the phone will not filter out, and display at the top of the ringtones list
OR
any other ideas on "solving" the matter
so sure enough, a simple hyphen works.
Hopefully someone else will find this helpful, because for the time being, I just feel stupid.

Remove time stamp from taking a picture

Usually on any other phone I had I was able to have it show photo 1, 2,3 and so on but with my SGS its the date and time, I was wondering if any of you could help me with a fix to have it disable the time and date stamp, its the time I don't want really, i can live with the date, yes I know I can rename after taking the picture but if i can make it name the picture to something different without me renaming it, then that would be excellent
many thanks

NST Screen Saver Frequency Setting?

I've successfully rooter my Nook Simple Touch and explored all of its files and databases that I can find. But I cannot locate the setting to change that will update the frequency at which the screen saver changes images.
My goal is to have a folder of image files that change every 30 seconds or so. Unfortunately, the stock screen saver's change timer is much longer than that.
As a workaround, I set the screen saver activation time to 500 hours and installed Perfect Viewer to run its slideshow function, but this is less than ideal. I'd rather just do it the right way.
Does anyone know where this setting is located?
Thanks!

That would seem to be a poor decision as far as battery life is concerned. Are you sure you really want to do that?

Battery life is not a concern in my application.

OK, so I have to admit I didn't even know this happened. It's been a long time since I used a folder of images for a screensaver. What I seem to recall from that time was the images changing each time the NST went to sleep, but not during sleep.
Let me take a look. I guess one possible approach would be to consult a logcat after an image change and see if there are clues there.
I've come up empty on a search through the various B&N app databases and settings files.
Just to see this actually happen, I changed my screensaver from a static book cover image to one of the packages of images I installed years back. That was nearly 24 hours ago and there is still no change, which is what my memory told me to expect. So without an automatic change, there is nothing to look at in the logcat.
Are you sure your images actually change by themselves during the standby/sleep process? I know they change when you wake up the device and then let it fall asleep again.
You've already tried the slideshow idea or I would suggest that, but did you know there is a built-in slideshow (probably associated with the demo mode)? I don't know what the parameters of that are or whether you could replace the images with your own without breaking it.
Maybe a better question to help me understand what you'd like to do is: will the NST be used for something other than the slideshow display (either running in the background or running on demand when the device is awakened)? If all you want is the slideshow then any number of apps (like the PerfectViewer you mention) would work. Maybe something simple if you just need the slideshow. But if you really are using the device for other things and just want the sleep screen to change periodically, that's either got to be supported in the settings in an accessible way (which I'm doubtful about) or it has to be a custom alteration of the OS.
