Anyone here knows if HTC P4350 has UMA support or not?
If by UMA you mean like [email protected] by tmobile, the simple answer is no.
No, not the HTC P4350, but there are rumors that T-Mobile USA will be getting the phone with UMA.
Im thinking at some point they will issue a patch that will allow it on at least the wing if not the dash as well and of course will start reissuing phones witht he support already in it.

Forgive me if this is blatently ovbious or under my nose, but what is the name of the CDMA flavor of the HTC Hermes?
I currently own a Verizon Wireless XV6600 which is known as the "HTC Harrier" because it is the CDMA version of the "HTC BlueAngel" which is the GSM version. Great phone! Love it to death!
I've been waiting patiently for Verizon to come out with the XV6800 because from what I can see about it, it is simply awesome over the 6600/6700. Additionally, my New-Every-Two promotion kicks in during this June. I'd love to take home a XV6800 at that time. I want to know what this phone is really called so if I have the urge to buy it branded as an HTC or other carrier, I will know it will work with the Verizon network.
Thanks in advance!
its called the titan ... not to be confused with tytn...
Thanks for that clarification.
If that's the case, then what is the difference between the HTC Hermes and the HTC TyTN?

None, Hermes is the internal name, TyTN is the sales name
Does anybody know when the HTC Titan is going to be released under any carrier?

It is NOT the same it is called the HTC p4000 or Titan, has a different chip (400mhz Qualcomm) a bigger memory, and the keyboard opens to the right, it is already out with Telus. See the link below which states it comes with WM6 but it does not, it has WM5 installed.

I've heard some rumors that HTC will be releasing some devices soon that will support UMA. Our T-Mobile Rep said that they were told they would have a Windows Mobile 6 device soon that supported it. (this is after she gave us a pre-release UMA BB Curve, which is pretty slick) I'm wondering why we wouldn't be able to upgrade any HTC WM6 device with software to support UMA? Can anybody enlighten me, or point me to more information?
Thanks

hey vonne thats cool but i never heard of them are they a wireless company? i much rather buy an unlock or do some of the things i said in the original message
you can buy unlocked phones off ebay. i sell some there. if you buy the Sprint I don't think it will work on Tmobile even if you unlock it because Sprint uses CDMA and Tmobile is GSM. If you buy an unlocked GSM phone it should work on Tmobile. I had a different unlocked GSM phone while i was in the US this summer and it worked fine.
ok csasek but im talking bout the hero/ G2 touch not any other phone i jus want that one there so many smart people that hav info on this phone an none can help me?
the only place you can get it unlocked is on ebay for about $550, and yes it will work in the US...any other specific questions
You are aware that the G2 Touch will not work with 3G in the US? If you buy one, you will be restricted to EDGE at best. As has been already stated, the Sprint Hero can never work with T-Mobile US at all.

Dave

why doesn't the Hero work with US 3G? what frequencies/technology do ATT & Tmobile us for 3G? I thought that Tmobile was using WCDMA/ HSDPA which should be compatible and that ATT uses HSDPA too.
I honestly don't know what all these things mean so if you could provide some insight I would really appreciate it. Since I sell these on ebay I like to be able to answer these types of questions.

Yes they do, but the important thing here is that these services can be offered over several different frequencies.
The "worldwide" Hero (as opposed to the Sprint one) only supports 3G (HSPA/WCDMA) at 900Mhz and 2100Mhz.
http://www.htc.com/www/product/hero/specification.html
T-Mobile US's 3G network runs at 1700MHz, and ATT's 3G at 1900MHz. Neither of these 3G bands are supported by the radio in the GSM Hero, so you are stuck with 2G/EDGE speeds.
Regards,
Dave
Thank you very much for the explanation
im sure there is a radio update in the development section somewhere???
this would alow US users to have 3G but they would require root in order to flash the new radio
There is no radio ROM update at present which will make US 3G bands available, and there is no evidence as yet that this is a ROM and not a hardware restriction.
If I were interested in pursuing this further, I'd probably enquire in the Magic forums if it possible to flash a MyTouch 3G radio onto a European Magic to get 3G working with T-Mobile US.
Regards,
Dave

Since I don't know of the Jade being carried by any provider in the United States. How many have been shipped over here for American use and what provider do you use?
Any American Jades out there?
Are there any at all? Come on, am I really the only one out there?
Have one
I hace one as well, put wm 6.5.3 on it and works great.

What carrier are you using?
T-Mobile
T-Mobile and used it in the Phillipines and Europe as well as the Domminican Republic....
I was beginning to think that I was the only one around here.
Got UMA?
Anybody in America using T-Mobile UMA service successfuly? I bought the phone from Ebay from someone in Australia, so i never had UMA software installed like the ones from Orange UK. I thought about flashing Orange software thinking it should get UMA access using my T-Mobile SIM.
Me 2... on AT&T
Hi all,
I've successfully flashed my genuine T-Mobile HTC SP5m in the past and now I'm about to buy this "china made" version of the HTC Touch and I'd like to know if I'll be able of flashing this "fake" HTC Touch to the most recent ROM available, e.g. WM6.5 instead of the pre-loaded WM6.1?
Here's the "fake" HTC Touch I'm about to buy: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.21069
In the Discussions section of the DX website, a user is asking if this phone is ROM/firmware upgradeable and here's the answer provided, is it true??

Without a new ROM image from the manufacturer - forget it.
Simonetti2010 Tuesday, July 20, 2010 8:58 AM
You might want to try http://forum.xda-developers.com/
The guys at XDA Developers have up-to-date ROMs for almost every WM phones released.
CosmoVitelli Tuesday, July 20, 2010 1:26 PM
Wrong. XDA Dev is focussed on genuine HTC phones, and trying to install a HTC ROM will make any of the chinese copies become a useless brick.

CosmoVitelli is right. I would never by a clone, nor try flashing one. Just spend the extra to buy a ligit phone and have the ability to use XDA!
Thanks for your reply. That's what I finally did, I bought an official HTC XV6900 at half the DX price off eBay, it's new Verizon phone in an opened box. Can't wait to receive it.
I'll have to flash it cause my provider here in Quebec is Fido and not Verizon.
Which firmware with WM6.5 would you guys suggest me?
Thanks all,
highmighty
Thats a vogue, so CDMA, you'll need to head there. They do have FroYo android roms running on it. 6.5 - not sure what roms exist for it.
Are you sure that phone will work for you. It is CDMA, from what I understand, Fido (Rogers) are GSM? I only ask as the DX link was a GSM phone.
Damnit... true, Verizon uses CDMA and my Fido carrier is using GSM, what's next? Reselling the phone as soon as I receive it? I've read somewhere that it is possible to use a CDMA phone on a GSM network, that there are some agreements made between the 2 now, that it will connect to at least the EDGE network but not 3G, etc? Is that true, are you aware of such a thing?
Thank you for your time,
highmighty
I'm not aware of such a thing, we don't seem to have any CDMA here in england, everything is Sim Card GSM Based.
In my honest opinion though, I don't think it will even connect to the GPRS network as there would be nothing telling it teh details (your sim card is not present)
EOF then I guess
Anyone interested by a new HTC CDMA Touch XV6900 currently locked to Verizon??
I'd recommend going to the xda marketplace section in general, you make have some luck there
Could always try to sweet talk the seller into taking a return?
Sorry that I ruined your hopes
