Since I don't know of the Jade being carried by any provider in the United States. How many have been shipped over here for American use and what provider do you use?
Any American Jades out there?
Are there any at all? Come on, am I really the only one out there?
Have one
I hace one as well, put wm 6.5.3 on it and works great.

What carrier are you using?
T-Mobile
T-Mobile and used it in the Phillipines and Europe as well as the Domminican Republic....
I was beginning to think that I was the only one around here.
Got UMA?
Anybody in America using T-Mobile UMA service successfuly? I bought the phone from Ebay from someone in Australia, so i never had UMA software installed like the ones from Orange UK. I thought about flashing Orange software thinking it should get UMA access using my T-Mobile SIM.
Me 2... on AT&T

If you have gsm network with 900/1800 or 900/1900 you will get the device working in israel.

Yes, absolutly, you can get it from Orange (Partner), they have the iMate.
http://www.orange.co.il/corporate/imate/index.html
I bought mine on eBay from a guy in the Philippines, and it is an O2 XDA II, I asked him to write PDA on the shipping manifest, so I wouldn't have to go through Minestry of communication.
Now I work with Orange, GPRS, Cooked ROM, I love it, great phone.

Ok, how about 240 pounds for everything? Remember, it works as a phone perfectly if your carrier supports UMTS (such as T-mobile Uk).

could you be a little more specific on its handicap? are you saying it works on a different cell phone service provider? or the gsm just doesnt work? i'm in a different country, so should it work or should it not?
thanks, looking forward...

Hey everyone quick question. If a T-mobile customer in the U.S. were to order an unlocked magic branded with the Vodafone logo, could they still update the phone and such when the U.S. version hits in July. Say that U.S. T-mobile has sent out an update for their phone, could the person who has the Vodafone version update as well? I am debating about ordering an unlocked magic from Timtechs.com to use here in the U.S. and was wondering what were the possible drawbacks, besides 3G, that I may face.
For the same price (or less actually) as the vodaphone imports you can get one of the Google ION phones off of ebay if you're looking for something a little more interesting.
It supports the american 3G bands as well. I paid 589 for mine.
I have debated on ordering one, but am afraid of possibly receiving just a box lol. Actually the area of texas i live at doesn't have 3G yet, I am always running the E - EDGE network so it really doesn't bother me.

Got one for $400 practically new. Camera is decent but no AF and flash suck ball.
or get the one of the ones Rogers is releasing tomorrow in Canada..
Well, would it be the same version that the U.S. should be getting? if i could find a good canadian website that would ship to the U.S. I may be looking into this lol.
I just received a Vodaphone HTC Magic version and I got the phone to work nicely on AT&T with the APN info. But, 3G does not work. It only shows EDGE. Does anyone know how to get the 3G to work? Or, is there a ROM that I can flash to?
Let me know -

No since it has different 3G radio.
Rogers version will work since it has the same 3G bands as AT&T (850 and 1900).
Hey, wait....so since it has the same bands as AT&T...would that be the same as T-Mobile? Any one know a good canadian retailer who ships to the U.S.?
Hello,
I'm looking for an HTC HD2 without a contract. I've found two different types. One of them are without a branding others have one. My question is, if it is possible to use a simyo (this is eplus, a german provider) SIM on an HTC HD2 with a t-mobile branding?
thx

It's very unlikely. Normally, you can only use SIMs supplied by the company that branded the device, but I'm not 100% sure in this case, only 99% sure
hi johncmolyneux,
thank you. I think this is the reason, why the unbranded phones about 80 Euros more expensiv.

Yeah, they generally are. I buy unbranded models myself, so I can chop and change providers as and when I want to, rather than being stuck in a long-term contract.

Really?
Because in my experience if you purchase branded devices "outright", you can use any SIM you want in them.
That's the way it works in Canada with Telus, and in Australia with Telstra...
Hi,
Ive got so many conflicting reports but I would just like to know whether a Motorola Atrix imported from America (unlocked) would work on T-Mobile 3G in the UK.
thanks
I just got back from UK and GER, and at least for Voice and SMS, the Atrix worked just fine in O2 UK, Vodafone UK and T-Mobile networks. Did not try data roaming. I'm using AT&T Atrix with AT&T SIM; USA based.
It's a quad band phone, so you'll be fine importing one and using it in the UK (assuming it isn't locked to a US carrier).

I have one, just imported it, works just fine and I'm on T-Mobile also.
I imported an atrix and currently in germany using tmob...calling on 3g doesnt work as it reboots the phone when i do this. Users from belgium are reporting the same thing. Changing the radio to gsm only is a work around thou

I bought it off ebay with laptop dock for $650, got stung at customs with £124 charge but still well worth it.
