Hello forum
I want to upgrade my phone HTC Amadeus to WM 6. Now I'm using 2003 SE.
But I read in this forum, 3 music buttons can not work if I upgrade my smartphone to WM 6.
Can anybody tell me how to make music buttons work on WM 6?
Regards,
You can TRY, backup your keyboard/keypad dll and all the shortcut buttons which is Short_AP1, AP2, AP3 and AP4 , then in the end when you flashed WM6, paste back those files there.
Wonder if it will ever work, the reason it doesnt work is because of the dll file
Can you tell me how to do that?
Find that file in your windows folder, backup it, then after you have flashed, copy it back to your phone windows folder
i've found keybddr.dll in amadeus wm5 (with working media buttons), but how can i copy it from /windows folder? it seems to be kinda copy-protected.
just managed to unpack wm5 amadeus firmware, and i've found 'keybddr.dll' folder in /windows. here it goes: http://www.mediafire.com/?1hbtwz1mmvm
Does it work?

i don't know. you tell me.
either we should somehow compile this folder to a single .dll file, or someone gotta tell me how i can extract this file from another htc amadeus device with wm5 rom.
I have the same Problem! - Please Help.
Temporary Solution
You could use this as a temporary solution.
Put the four link files into your (windows\keys) directory and you will get Short press IE button as IE, Long press IE button as backward, Short press backward button as play and Long press backward button as forward.
Now you can try this Rom : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=364399

I used this cab file and speeded up my JAMin tremendously. I learnt it is for the KJAM that has the same processor, it tweaks your registry.
Just install it in your main memory (device) then soft reset.
is it speeding by overclock of the CPU?
can this be use with dopod 818 pro ?
have anyone tested it ?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=38898
erez29,
I don't think it overclock the cpu. It tweaks the WM5 registry.
ec_goh,
It works on the imate KJAM (HTC Wizard) and imate JAMin (HTC Prophet). Which one is yours? I'm not familiar with the dopod names/models.
Lucas0511,
Do you mean this is the same as the link? Does it sort out the WLAN as well?
I don't know why but every time i tried to install the cab file i got an "installation unsuccessfull".
So I extracted the registry settings out of the cab file and put them in a registry file. Here's the file for people that have the same problem as me.
DJVW HTC Wizard Optimizer.cab not install in jamin who to install it
what do you do with the optimize.zip file
tried running the .reg file, but will not work
i have resco registry editor installed. you need an editor to import te reg file
thanks, got it working, seems to be running abit quicker

Connect your ppc to pc and ActivSync, Explore then copy the file from pc and paste it in ppc. (or copy to SD card).
on ppc locate the file using 'file explorer' and click on it to run the installation steps. Select to install in 'Device'. Shut down (press and hold power button), yes. Turn ppc back on.
This does not work on my jamin!!

Better yet, head on over to the Wizard forum section. Grab the registry wizard. It lets you set the settings individually and choose what you want, rather than a single cab.

heya,
i believe its because this installs capnotify.lnk which is already present in your device.
wm5's quite touchy about what it overwrites. you can delete the file in the cab. or delete the lnk in \windows
Where is the link
Hi,
I have gone through your post, but i cant ever see any links. Please advise.
Ahmed
Anyone tried this recently? does this improve something?
I played Game Infinite Dreams Sky Force in O2 Mini and ASUS P525, It's work and smooth. But when I played in HTC Touch Dual (Niki), the graph will not smooth (seems like memory is not enough).
Anybody have idea to handle this problem ??? Thanks
its the driver problem.
read more here:

After porting touch driver from Dopod S600 to touch dual, this problem will be solved. I can play it very well using the touch screen on my touch dual now.
please elaborate on how to do it Id love to solve this problem also!
you need to cook the rom your self.using the oem\oemdrivers\touch from S600 rom that I post here.
have you sent this to htcclaasaction.org? Theyve been trying to solve this problem for a long time.
Is rom the only solution? Cant i just copy the file or instal a cab? Im still a noob at flashinr ROMs :-(
That is a driver issue. I don't think it's a good idea to fix this issue using cab.
I attached the touch driver files here. You can cook and G'reloc your rom using this driver.

You don`t need to cook enything, and you dont`t need to flash your device.
Here my instrutions. If you will follow them it will be 100% safe for your p5500.
1. Make Backup of your system. I recomend you to use spb backup v2.0.
2. Install Resco File Explorer. (Not all versions can overwrite rom files, i used v6.10)
3. Go to the options and make all files visible. Also make Resco File Explorer to remember last folder (you will need these if something will go wrong)
4. Copy files from archive in any place on your device.
5. Install install_cert.cab
6. Install SDKSamplePrivDeveloper.cer like CAB file.
7. Copy touch.dll over ROM file to \windows\ folder .
8. Browse to \windows\ folder and close Resco Explorer.
9. Make Softreset
10. Be Happy!
if somting will go wrong, your touch screen will not response. In these case you need run Resco Explorer using a hard keys. It will open \windows\ folder for you. Find Touch.dll and remove it! It will restore original file! Make Softreset.
PS: Sorry for my English Good Luck!
Wonderful
Just tried to install the new driver with your instructions. Works great. I tested it with NFS, with the original driver it was unplayable because steering is made via touchscreen and so graphics went very slow. But now, simply great. Much thanks!
I found you~
Thanks dude! previously the screen would lag if i keep on touching the screen, i.e. playing SkyForce. But after the fix, seems that now the screen is smooth.

Ok, I installed everything sucessfuly. But, It's not supposed the driver improves the system performance? It seems everything the same to me...
Great!! I'm a noob on cooking and gave up trying cook me a swedish rom months ago, this worked great. It's a joy using internet explorer and opera now, I'm truly fuzzed!
The whole device seems nippier also, but I dunno, might be the buzz from the smooth scrolling in IE that makes me see stuff that isn't there

Don’t do that to me.. Because I do contribute when I can.. and I actually have a fix.......
If you didn’t know you could have posted that.. Well here it is..
You need to do two things..
1. Save and zip the file called “PowerOffWarning.exe” from the windows directory
2. Go to the directory that has your psshutxp executable in it and rename the psshutxp.exe to PowerOffWarning.exe.
3. Zip the new “PowerOffWarning.exe” and skin files into a zip file.
4. Execute the zip file and overwrite the “PowerOffWarning.exe” file in the windows directory.
5. Press and hold your power button and enjoy your new shutdown/reset/screen off options.
NOTE: the only reason I choose to do it on long press is because I sometimes quickly want to turn off my screen when putting the phone back into the case. I don’t want to worry or wait for the app to come up and choose an option.
I have attached the two files and they came from a Mogul running WM6.1. If you use these files please backup your device first.

maybe someone can create a cab for me please ;-)
mm with diamond don't go.. any ideas?
Great idea Eazy. I'll be waiting for a cab too...
On my hermes, there is no poweroffwarning.exe, so your solution will not work on all devices.
Just had a quick look at the running tasks, and the warning comes from gwes.exe, which is the 'Graphics, Windowing and Events Subsystem'

Works fine on my Touch Pro.
And, if you use program like Resco Explorer, you can pass the ZIP routine, and go directly to overwriting the .exe .
works on my Trinity 6.1
very nice thank you!!!

I'm sorry, I certainly didn't intend to imply any criticism of your work.
For anyone else in my situation, unfortunately the gwes.exe is a vital process, which is always running, and does more than just the power off warning. As there is no standalone app for this warning in my rom, there is no exe which can be replaced.
I made a cab for the method stated.
PsShutXP_Replace.cab is just an automated way of Eazys method on the first page so check that first.
PsShutXP_Diamond.cab is the same method but with the VGA version and a diamond skin from lesteryh
Can this be undone if it doesn't work?
I think there's still the issue where it doesn't work right if you also use S2U2. not sure which ones at fault there.
Works fine on my Vogue running NSFAN's 6.1 Rom. I'm also running S2U2.
I dought the uninstall will work. If you want to go back then read Eazys post on page one and backup the file first.

Hey.. Can I ask you to change up how your cab works.. Just to make things easy.. I have not ventured into how to make cab's yet but will soon..
User:
Install PsShutXP (QVGA/VGA)then run the (not yet created) cab
Your cab:
create a directory under \program files\PsShutXP called Backup
create a directory under \program files\PsShutXP called modfile
copy \Windows\PowerOffWarning.exe to \program files\PsShutXP\backup
copy \program files\PsShutXP\PsShutXP.exe to \program files\PsShutXP\modfile\PowerOffWarning.exe
copy program files\PsShutXP\modfile\PowerOffWarning.exe to Windows\PowerOffWarning.exe and overwrite the file.
copy \program files\PsShutXP\*.gif to \Windows\
and on your uninstall
copy \program files\PsShutXP\Backup\PowerOffWarning.exe to \Windows
This will allow the user to uninstall the program if needed.
I am also using that skin on My Touch pro but removed the text up top that says Touch Diamond.
If you could create that cab it would be greatly appreciated. Until then everyone can just follow the manual process..
Working Devices so far:
Mogul 6.1
Touch 6.1
Touch Pro 6.1
Touch Diamond 6.1
Vogue 6.1
Trinity 6.1

I'll help you out.. I don’t think gwes.exe is the right file for you to be looking at.. How about this.. It seems that when you hold down your power button you get the same type of power off warning box that we do.. How about you go into your windows directors and sort by exe. Then start clicking on each exe until you see the warning box pop up and then you will know which file shuts down your phone. That’s how I found the PowerOffWarning.exe file. Please report back...
There's a thread over at ppcgeeks that I can't find right now, but it said to just copy the psshutxp.exe and paste a .lnk in \Windows\. Then you rename the "psshutxp.lnk" to "Long_Power.lnk". This method doesn't overwrite any exe's and works like a charm on my Touch Pro.
at the time that did not work on my mogul.. if it is working for you then your good.. if it works for anyone else then they dont need to use this process.. i have not tested that on my diamond pro since this worked for me.
Hi
For whatever reason, my device doesn't have the wifiinit.exe file. I've been trying to figure out what is wrong with the wifi on the device for days now.
I've hard reset and flashed the rom a million times, but for some reason, the wifi initiation file is never present.
Could someone please download their wifiinit.exe file and upload it here?
Thanks
Which device?
My Touch Pro shows no file of that name.
thanks for the reply
Htc ppc6800 (Titan) (mogul)
Well, I'm trying to get the wifiinit.ink file to run, but I understand that it's a shortcut file.
So I need whatever exe file that is launched by the wifiinit.ink
No such file on my Polaris either. You running Windows 6 or 6.1?
my X1 also does not seem to have this file. what are you trying to do with this file anyway
if you want to simply start wifi from a shortcut simply install AKTogglewifi and put the shortcut anyware
I used to have a Wizard and still have the kitchen I used for it. In this kitchen in the \OEM\OEMAPPS folder are two files 'wifiinit.exe' and a shortcut to it 'wifiinit.lnk'. These files aren't in my Kaiser so I assume it isn't needed on all devices. I have attached it but I am not sure whether it will work for you or not?
Andy
can anyone tell me how i can install .dll files with resco?
please tell me
have you tried renaming the old one, dropping the new one into the windows folder, and soft reset?
Are you really asking the right question?
Do you mean, how do you use Resco explorer to add .dll files to the windows directory when the original .dll is still in use by Windows?
Or do you mean, How do I convert a .dll file into a .cab so I can run it to install files?
Surely you can just copy the .dll's into the place you want them? then restart?
