Hi,
I busted my LCD screen on the P3600 playing golf today. A couple of ebay shops are proposing replacement screens. My questions are:
1. One of the shop suggests that there are 2 generations of LCD screens for P3600, and you have to open yours first to find out which one you have; the wrong generation version will not work. Is this true?
2. Does anyone have instructions on how to open and replace the screen?
3. Now that I'm going to replace the screen, why not put a better one in there? Which screen is the best one?
Please post replacement instructions if you have any
thanks
There is no "best one", you gotta use the one right for your device (yap, the "generation thing"). You gotta open it to check it. Do a search on the forum, that topic as been talked about several times

There was a post on here at some point from someone needing a new glass screen for their HD.
Since I'm not sure if it's against the rules, I won't put a link on this forum but I will say it was on ebay.
There was a glass screen replacement and some other brand new replacement hard parts.
Anyway, hope that helps.

Hi there, im new & loving this place & my tytn.
My stylus has just developed a loose problem so bad that it can easily fall out?
I see lots of solutions around for the wizard, is it not common with the hermes?
One solution was the paper in the holes near the battery but unlike the wizard, the hernes are filled. Apologies if this has been answered but all i really got with the search related to the wizard. I dont want to dismantle.
Thank you for any suggestions you may have.
Pete.

You only need remove the back cover. Be careful replacing the back cover to align the macro arm of the camera.

Once again Mike thank you. Im amazed at this phone & was lucky to spot grade B stock on ebay selling for only 65 pounds, only thing missing was the box & extras but phone condition is almost new.
Well, I'm about to buy a HTC HD2 (the t-mobile version) to repair it, (like a hobby thing), anyway, the phone seems to have the LCD broken, the digitizer seems ok (but as far as I know they aren't expensives, like U$S 15), So here are the questions:
I want to buy the LCD replacement, but I'm not sure which one (I know I have to buy the T-mobile version) but some seems to require soldering a connector, and others don't, also do I need special tools for opening the cellphone? Is there any guide on the internet that you could recommend me? and how much should I paid for the Lcd? any other advice? Thanks!
edit: I forgot the [Q] on the title.. can't edit it, sry I'm new
you can probably open it without using special tools, altough you will need T9 screw drive if im correct, here's a video of official assembly/disassembly video leaked by HTC. pocketnow[dot]com/hardware-1/official-htc-hd2-disassembly-assembly-training-videos-leaked
LCD and digitizer is glued together, theres a video there showing how to take it apart i think.
Good Luck!

Yeah sorry about that. I just spent like at least twenty minutes to get that link to work and for some reason it just would not so I just copied and pasted the URL. I have never had that problem....... Aghhhhhhh. Anyway sorry again.
Well, thanks for the warm welcome! and about the price to pay for the screen + digitalizer? 80 U$S is alright? (if, it can be told) and thanks again for the info, in a few months I'll post some before and after screens
Oh, and by the way, I don't have a T-Mobile Sim card, Will I be able to unlock the phone? thanks.

Yeah I noticed after I added that that it was your first post just never did bother adding that to my post. I meant no harm or disrespect by it though. Thanks for trying to help out here as all should do when they can.

If this is the wrong place to post this I apologize and please let me know where to post or kindly move the post.
Long and short no device protection plan at all. Looking for someone experienced from the community to replace the display. Looks like the glass isn't broken. It looks like the LCD/digitizer died. Phone fell (in case). Doesn't light up at all except for the flashlight but appears to turn on etc. power button is a bit mangle as well. If someone can give me an idea where to look or a ball park price I'd be grateful.
I've looked online and I do not have the skill to try this one myself.

Thanks for the tip. I'm not in the U.K. and I'm looking for someone who's done this kind of repair before. From what I've read and seen it's not an "easy" job.

Well, to start with you may get more helpful replies if you put your location and carrier in your profile, making them visible so people know where you're from rather than saying "thanks, but I'm not from the UK".
I meant no disrespect to anyone. I'm in the us (Pennsylvania). Phone was direct from Google/Huawei and was being used on att.
Thanks for suggesting I add that info. I didn't think about it.

It's cool.. none taken! There's no harm in putting your home town in your profile. There are a LOT of ppl on XDA and someone may know a good local repair shop in your immediate area. Best of luck.
Order the lcd and try the repair yourself, the hardest part is opening the thing, when mine broke, i ordered the lcd and a new housing which came with everything i needed, once it is opened the swapping of stuff over was the easy part, but as i was replacing the the lcd and housing, i didnt mind damaging the existing housing to get the thing apart, and when i was finished i had a brand new looking phone and only took around an hour or so to do it, youtube has some good videos on it. A new housing isnt expensive and you can learn a bit about your phone aswell. i made mine into a black and silver version. lol
