problems with Activ Sync - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Hello Guys
I am having a problem with Activ Sync I have searched the forum and tried all the advice, unistalled activ sync, made sure that it is not ticked in settings, tried different leads and even a different computer but no joy.
When I connect the phone to the computer the light comes on and it charges but the phone does not connect to Activ Sync. If I change the tick in the settings the computer tries to connect.
Any help would be appreciated as can not load any programmes or sync to outlook.

problem with connection to laptop by ActiveSync, need help!!

hello all,
After the installation of ActiveSync, i insert the usb cable to laptop and put the Xda II on cradle, the ActiveSync in computer couldn't find any device (Xda II) and i can't setup the partnership, however, my Xda II display the "connected" only for 2 seconds and then interrupt for ever, i have installed the ActiveSync many times and hardreset the XdaII, but it is still not connected, what's wrong with this? :?: :?: :?:
When the xda 2 is first plugged into usb you should get a message on your laptop screen saying device found htc etc, once this is done activesync should see it. Which version of activesync are you using?
I tried the ActiveSync 3.7 and ActiveSync 3.8, the results are same. The laptop can find the USB, but the ActiveSync can't find the XdaII.
Idea
I am assuming Active Sync works on other computers?
If you are using XP,
Make sure the device is plugged in.
Open up task manager, (Ctr + Alt + Del), go to processes and end task on WCESMgr.exe and or wcescomm.exe.
Right click on My Computer, select Manage. Expand Device manager, Windows CE USB Devices, right click on PocketPC USB Sync and Uninstall, click Yes.
If you see any devices with an explanation point or marked Red, Uninstall them too.
Unplug your device.
Open up Active Sync, under the settings, make sure USB is checked.
Plug in your device.
I have seen this happen if windows did not configure the device properly at first.
As a thank you for my time, send me naked photos of your wife!!! KIDDING!!!!
Thanks for your help, i have done this by following what you said, but it is still not connected. When the laptop find the Device USB first time, the XDAII just display the "connected" for 1&2 seconds. I click the "Error" on XDAII, which is Synchronize with Server, then it displays:
The connection failed due to mising server information or user credentials. Tap Options, and then the Server tab to verify that your server name is correct. Then, tap'Optaions..." to verrify that your user credentials are correct and try again.
I haven't changed ther Server Synchronization in "Option", and my laptop doesn't need any user name and password to logon.
What's wrong with this? How to set up the "Option" in XDAII?
DUDE!!!
It is hella confusing.. BUT... You do not use the Server setting.
I use the Server setting but I have my own Exchange server 2003 and using Exchange Server 2003 Mobile Services, I have my Contacts, Calendar and Inbox always up to date via the Internet, (I have unlimited Internet through T-Mobile for $19 a month).
You need only to use the PC synchronization. Open Active sync, Tools, Options, Options again and check to make sure it is checked and USB is selected, OK, make sure the other two are "Ticked" as well, OK.. Then try.
This Time I only want naked photos of your DOG!!!
There should be some problems with laptop, because everthing is ok when i connect my XDA with other PCs. I can't find what problem is with my laptop. It is running Windows XP professional edition.
Darge, this isnt going to sound very logical, but if you have more than one usb port, please try the other port, I have had similar problems with activesync whic have been resolved by doing this, dont ask me why because i dont know.
May be should try othe type of connection other than USB. Try using either bluetooth or wifi. May be you should search in the forum regarding connection using bluetooth or wifi.
My Xda and laptop are connected and working very well after i reinstalled the Windows XP for my laptop. It was the stupid and only way what i could do, because i have tried all kinds of solutions which were not useful.
Thanks a lot for your advice and help anyway. 8)

Activesync - "Disconnect when done" not working

Wonder if anyone can help here. I never use my Jam with the USB, and I have Activesync setup for Bluetooth. When I connect via Bluetooth, everything works great and phone syncs. But it won't disconnect when done syncing and I sometimes forget to, which eats battery life.
There is an option in Activesync on the phone..Tools, Options, Options, Disconnect when done, which I have checked of course, but still no joy.
Anybody got a solution?
( I just want it to Connect via Bluetooth, synchronise with Activesync, and then disconnect)
Thanks

ActiveSync on Dopod D810

I have had no success syncing my Dopod D810 with my Vista Home Premium computer. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling WMDC, changing the USB-PC connection option, USB points of connection ~ all to no avail. Although my Dopod is recognised as a HTC USB Sync in device manager, WMDC will not show it connected (though the 'more connections' option reveals device connected)and i cannot see it in explorer etc.
One thing I have noticed is that on the Dopod an advice page occasionly (generally after installing WMDC and reconnecting) appears from ActiveSync saying that i need to install activesync on the computer to sync this device. Then occasionly ActiveSync remains active after i have disconnected the device.
Could someone please assist me with this problem
I had a similiar problem, not sure if this will help but I had to manually disable ActiveSync and make sure it was disabled when I plugged in my phone.
If it's detecting as HTC USB Sync in device manager, I think it might be connecting in the wrong mode. You sure you have the "allow advanced connections" box ticked in the usb / pc section in settings?
RaindancerAU, thx for the reply,
Tried the 'Enable advanced network functionality' check box, but no better, no connected icon on Dopod, and no recognition of connection from computer. Uncheck box, and HTC USB sync starts, but WMDC not connected. Dopod also shows error that 'to connect you must install Activesync 4.1 or higher on the desktop computer.
As an aside, I have been able to sync this Dopod perfectly with a Windows XP machine elsewhere in the house.
Frustrates the h*ll out of me!
Did this tip helps

Activesync 4.5 Auto sync

Hi, I have been searching around for this and most of what I have read is that it is not possible to stop Activesync from automatically syncing when connected. Is this still the case or has someone figured out a workaround?
Thanks!
swicth off synch from the mobile
Just go to File -> Connection Settings and uncheck open activesync when device connects

Can't connect with active sync

I just downloaded Active Sync 4.5;
My Nikki100 just can't connect to the PC. I already tried most of the troubleshooting purposed by windows with no sucess.
What is your sugestion?
P.S. Sync symbol (green) is active for a few moments but then goes off. It has USB connection all set in both sides, no firewall, etc.
