Universal rom flash problems - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

Would it be possible to re-flash a universal on a different computer if it failed on a pc with vista on it? i got error 101 on the pc with vista.
I'll be attempting the same rom-flash on pc with xp on it. The problem is that activesync doe not find the xda. The xda just shows usb v1.00 and serial when i disconnect the usb.
Any help would be appricated

Open your device in Bootloader mode,
Connect it via USB,
Open the ROM uploader exe,
Click next....
It won't be a problem, i think. It should work anywhere, not on just vista or xp..

I'm not sure if I understand correctly, but do you run the ROM file while it is still on the USB stick? Maybe it helps when you copy the files to a tempdir anywhere on the harddrive. Other points to take into consideration: did you run the USPL first, and do you use ActiveSync version 4.5? Since the XP pc is not connected to the net I presume it doesn't have a firewall installed, otherwise disable that too.
yes i put the rom firt on the harddisk.
then i connect the phone with activesync 4.5.
i always run the uspl first to be sure it go's okey.
then i wan't to run the ruu but it stil says corrupt.
i think i try to format the usb stick and try again.
other wise try to connect the pc upstairs and download the rom again.

I cannot see the option USB when executing mtty (USING WINDOWS VISTA)

Hi,
I am trying to upgrade the firmware to the latest one but USB option doesn't appear.
- I put it in bootloader mode properly pushing cam button and connecting the cable, then 0. USB appears in the 3 coloured screen.
- I disabled USB conection in Windows Mobile Device Center. I use windows Vista.
Any suggestion?

If you know someone with WinXP, you're better off putting the files you're working with on a USB stick and using their machine for a little while. I tried on Vista 64bit and tried to make it work in a Virtual Machine with XP running and got stuck at the MTTY/TeraTermPro part.
I was working on someone's WinXP pc recently and when done, I popped in my USB key with all the cellphone tools I was using and completed the process using the PC. I had to load ActiveSync, but that uninstalls really easily.
Good luck!
I wonder how these tools would work in Windows 7 using the XP mode compatibility addon...
how about win7 plz ,
whatever i do , no USB port at mtty

cant connect with pc

evertime i plug my device in my pc comes up with unknown device
how can i flash a new rom if my pc cant see the orbit? cant use active sync either
What's your operating system?
o2 version of windows mobile 6
i read breifly about a dll but i cant find it on the site or cant remember where i read about it
its basically like the orbit is not sending the driver information to the pc, yet the it still charges the orbit when plugged in
Try connecting the Orbit to another PC, or at least to another USB port on your PC. And don't use USB hubs, plug the device directly into PC's USB.

[Q] Help! Can't conect to pc!

Hi, i have a big problem when i connect my qtek to pc activesync 4.5 doesn't find the mobile, and pc doesnt recognize device on usb. please help me
i use windows xp sp3
If computer is coming up with 'device unrecognised' I usually found that a reboot (of both PC and Uni) was the only way to solve this. Once PC had not recognised the Uni it would not be persuaded!
