I have a not so amusing proplem with my phone. A birthday reminder for one of my contact don´t stop. It just keeps adding more and more reminders and keeps on doing it until I have like a 1000 and locks the phone. It is impossible to do anything with the phone because it is popping up new reminders all the tim. I am using wm6, spb diary, and the pocket cm 0.6. I think the combination of these is causing the problem. Anyone ever had similar problems.
Best regards
Anders
Birthday reminders still mad
I have not used my Trinity in many months, but made another try at it now and changed the rom and radio. But still the same problem.
I am using the Schap´s WM6 Pro 4.30 ROMs [WWE/FRA] rom with radio 1.46.30.11 I have a problem with that when the reminder starts for someones birthday at 23:45(11:45 pm) i pops up one more than every second until it hangs the phone completely. The only way to sole it is with a hard reset, but if I put my contacts back it will behave the same way on the next persons birthday.
Schap´s rom isn´t the problem and I don´t think the radio either, because I had the same problem on another rom and using 1.46.00.11 radio.
But I wonder what could be the problem, could my contacts be corrupted somehow???
I have tried to search this formum and google myself to death but cant find a single one with the same problem.
Please help, what could be wrong.....

Hi everyone,
Here is the problem:
Every now and then, my XDA II cannot send an SMS
(nothing happens when click on SEND).
Settings-Phone also cannot be accessed.
To remedy this, I have to either
- Turn OFF and ON the flight mode
- or soft reset
My ROM is 1.66.00WWE
Radio 1.08.00
I cannot find the cause of this.
I have NO other software installed.
Once I tried to click on many places to try to get out of this problem
but it just went into HARD reset.
Anyone has a fix to this? Much appreciated
I had the same problem. That sometimes I had to softreset to get SMS to work.
Now I have recently upgraded to ROM 1.72 and I haven't had the problem since, BUT it is not so long ago that I upgraded, so I cannot say that the problem absolutly has gone away.
I have the same problem on 1.72 ROM on a clean device (after HR, no progs installed). But this happens rather infrequently.
I have the same problem your sms is kept in the Draft folder and after a soft reset you can go into Drafts and resend. inconvenient yes, but not much trouble.
hi, also had that problem! But it's working now!

Bummer, just got the same error state. So an upgrade to 1.72 does not work. Sorry.
Cannot send sms bug fix
I think the problem is Ia_caller_id.exe notification
This bug is described in
http://www.scarybearsoftware.com/ppc_cn_overview.html
I have installed their free fix yesteday and I have not
had the problem yet.
If anyone has similar success with it, let me know
Now that the honeymoon period is over I have started noticing a few problems with the JJ. The most serious I noted is that when the JJ has gone through some use after its last soft reset it tends to freeze when a new text message arrives in the in-box. This does not happen when the JJ has been freshly soft reset and only when some time has passed since it was last soft reset. Since I have set the unit to vibrating alert on receipt of a new message the vibrator continuously starts operating and the phone freezes. To stop the vibrator you need to do a soft reset again.
Anybody had this problem??? I am planning to do a hard reset and see what happens.
Regards
Definitely related to some software that you have installed. I use sms everyday and havent faced any such problem.
Yes it does freezes your device when you receive new SMS, some time even I lost the SMS which was coming tru,..
Once I lost the MMS Account itself, then had to go for softreset and got it back again...
I've had the same thing happening. Very annoying. That's just Microsoft as we know it. We can't get out of the habbit of frequent softresets.
I did a complete ROM upgrade today and I replaced the Arabic ROM which came preinstalled on my JJ with the english version as available at the clubimate site. Without installing any 3rd party software I tested the SMS freezing problem and unfortunately it is very much there. This at least proves that no 3rd party software is to blame for this.
Now I am thinking that maybe I will have to dispose of the JJ as I so much depend on text messaging. The worst part is that as the JJ freezes on arrival of a new SMS the message itself is also lost and after doing the soft reset you can never tell from whom the message was.
I will really appreciate if anyone can help
Kind Regards

If you have an SD card inserted try removing it and see if the problem persist.
What i dont get is why this problem is unique to a very small percentage of devices. Many of use the device for SMS quite frequently and dont face this problem. I wonder what the triggering factor is.

I have this problem since I updated my ROM.
I posted this a few days back that the Jasjar tends to hang not all the time but most of the time when a new SMS arrives and in fact the SMS is also lost when you recover after a soft reset.
I thought that I will re-post this question because now more users would have had more experience with their Jasjars. For me this problem does not seem to go. I have tried even a hard reset and the problem keeps coming back even with no third party software installed.
I shall be obliged if anyone else who has had this problem may kindly post his views because this may put some pressure on the people at i-mate to come up with a fix. I fear that since this problem is being faced by a very small minority of JJ users a fix may never see the light of the day.
Kind Regards
I have a himalaya device with WM5 and have the exact same 'sms-lockup' problem.
Also, somethimes all the incoming calls are forwarded to my voicemail, even when my phone ison and the signal is strong and im not using my device. This can only be solved by a reset or after i made a call myself. Till that time no-one could call me!
The problems started when i installed another WM5-rom and a new radio-rom( 1.18 ). This was the first time a upgraded the radio-rom, so i think this could be the problem.
Im going to install the older radio-rom ver1.08 (recommanded in combi with WM5 by buzzdef.net). I hope this solves it!
I to have the same problem... Every time you open a new text message or even after sending message and when you get delivery report it freezes and you will have to reset.. but if you are in the middle of a call the phone still works fine but not able to use the PDA part because its freeze...
Have installed another, older, radio-rom( 1.08 ) and used it for almost a week... no freezes sofar!! I dont know if this rom can be used for a Universal device...
Just uncheck the "turn off device after..." option in battery settings and this problem will go away.
This was pointed out by user Khaled in another thread.
im also experiencing this after i upgraded to Second Edition. my Himalaya tends to freeze when receiving SMS. applications starts to slow down but will eventually recover after the SMS receipt notification, no need for softresets. i also noticed that currently, it would take about 10 seconds before SMS notification appears in the screen. im sure about this because i would know that an SMS is coming because my computer monitor, adjacent to my XDA, would flicker. so the turn-around time from the flickering of the monitor to the SMS notification would last around 10-12 seconds. is this normal?
I was so fed up with the SMS freezing problem that I sold my Jasjar, albeit at a much loss and exchanged it for a new one.
Just my bad luck the problem is also there on my 2nd Jasjar. It is exactly the same as the one I have sold. When I get a new SMS the unit freezes and has to be soft reset. Please note that this does not happen every time but say 1 in 10 times. Anyways this makes the whole system very unreliable. When your phone is in your pocket and an SMS causes it to freeze you will never know if now somebody tries to make an urgent call because your unit is not responding.
I have also tried the remedy / fix mentioned in this fourm to to Uncheck Turn Off Device but does not work.
My only hope is that this problem is fixed in the next ROM upgrade.
In the meantime I am evaluating prospects of leaving the WM platform altogether and going for a Nokia 9500
a friend just adviced me that it was my Radio version that is causing the problem. 1.18 has a lot of bugs including this freezing issue. so he suggested that i reflash my ROM and go back to Radio version 1.17. could somebody point me where the bug issues of 1.18 are listed here in the forum? thanks
Hey guys,
I'm new here!
After years of reading this site (ever since my orange SPV-1 days) a have now stumbled across a problem I just can't seem to fix by myself.
My MDA pro (Dutch T-Mobile, original ROM) has an appointment in it that has somehow made itself invisible. I know this probably sounds weird, but it's the only way I can describe it.
On every soft-reset my MDA starts buzzing and plays the appointment notification sound. It's not a big deal, just very annoying when the device has to be reset. I tried removing all my appointments, but unfortunately that didn't help.
I really don't want to hard-reset my device over this.
Anybody here even experienced (and maybe even solved 8)) the same problem?
I had the same issue and though i was the only one.. I actually had it twice on my O2Exec.. Drove me nuts. the annoying sound starts on boot and it takes time till you can stop it.
Install Memaid app or some other application that lets you edit the notification queue. I think I used Memaid, saw the problematic alarms (mine where from the clock alarm) and deleted the entries there.
hope this helps.
Thanx man! Worked like a charm
Hello, i bought HTC HD2 and there is one problem with it:
Sometimes it starts to call the last called Person automatically!
The Device also starts opening the Windows-Mediaplayer and Active Sync in the Background.
So how can i stop autonomous Programm-Starts and make the ****ing Thing shutup and work what i ordered it to terminate?
It is my Capacitys, my Time, my Electricity where i have payed for, my Internet, my Device - i own it to all Eternity, so my Personal Data Slave has to do what i ****ing want!
How to "help" it to "its Self" to return to the Right Way by Working correct? THX,
Manuel
Had similar problem until I upgraded to 1.48 ROM
same problem
I had the same problem.
I noted after installing the program Global Navigator 5.5 I had this same problem.
I tried locking the hd2 n thereafter switching it off however it still intermittenly recurs again.
Guess I may have to either hard reset or flash a newer rom and hopefully this problem can be eliminated.
Has anyone suffered this problem? Phone rings, I pick up the call, the screen shows connected and starts the call timer but you cant hear anyone the other end. hang up the call and the phone freezes with only a soft reset (taking battery out) works. I have a T-Mobile contract handset and was running the 1.43 rom. I thought maybe flashing to another rom might help so tried the 1.48 update but still having problems. I have hard reset and installed no software but still have the problem. Any ideas guys.....
Since I cant see this problem on the forum I'm guessing its hardware related. I guess I'm going to have to find the original T-Mobile rom and flash it back before returning.
hey, I had the same problem and had even started a thread today. I went for broke and did a hard reset and this has solved it. Back up all your info and hard reset and pronto good to go!!
I wish it was that easy for me. I have hard reset 3 times, the last time I didnt install any software just in case one of my apps was causing the problem.
Everything seemed fine for a day or so then someone called me and it crashed again.

it has happen to me 2 times in one month, first time i was listening some musique some one call and as soon the call ended it Freeze.
Another time the phone was on stand by and some one call, and could not answer the phone just freeze.
Why why why Is HTC brilliant
I have the same problem with my WWE HD2. It seems to be linked to music playback off a slow microSD card. I used to get the bug with a Class 2 16GB card if I happened to be listening to music while I received the phone. After tha call ended the playback would resume normally but after a while it would start to stutter (reminds me of a similar bug in the original Diamond, infact) and eventually stop. After that, the phone would just stop responding to any inputs.
After popping in a Class 6 8GB card the issue is gone.

Interesting you mention listening to music but for me the crash happens when the phone is in standby, caller id shows, then I hit the answer button and the call timer starts but I cant hear the caller. From then on, I can hang up and then a complete freeze. I wasnt listening to any music, the ring tone is on the phones memory not sd card, so not sure about the sd card connection. After my last HR I didnt install any software except resco file explorer and microsoft my phone. I still get a crash.
I was going to return the phone back to tmobile for repair but it sounds like its software related rather than hardware.
Flash,
Have a look at this thread...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=468284 , act on it and see if it helps. Phone lockup in the way you described happened to me a couple of times when I first had the phone; no problems now.

Me too. i didn't had this problem with Rom 1.43
Found solution guys! It was me not closing down the radio before pulling the headset out. I have not experienced the issue anymore.

What do you mean by "not closing down the radio" ?
Daniel
Sorry, I forgot the FM bit. In the past I used to listen to the FM Radio and pull the headphones out and the handset I thought automatically closed the FM app down. Any calls recieved on the handset after this would hang the HD2 after picking up the call. Up until the phone rang the HD2 would perform as normal, it was just an incomming call that triggered a crash. You could even make an outgoing call without a problem!
Now I close the FM app (by using the standbye icon on the app) first, then pull the headphones out. Not had the issue again.
Not solved for us that this happens to everytime... i can reset myphone and try to call right after the reset and it still happens.... I cant make a call or recieve a call at all lol
I had the same problem with radio rom 2.06.50.04 and 2.07.50.27 and miri's rom 6.5 v4.0.
Flashing to dutty's HG v0.8 rom with radio rom 2.07.50.27 solved it.
I had the problem with Dutty's v.06 and now have it with RoMEoS Rom....Don't think it is the Rom, and thought it was an app I isntalled until the OP said that he still had the problem with it even with no apps installed...

You might wanna try some different radio roms. Not really sure if it helps, but I guess the radio rom deals with calls etc.
Hmmm alright I will try that, I didn't think the radio rom's would freeze the phone...but I will try that as soon as I can get home.
