Turn off "Text Message Sent Acknowlegement" - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

DownLoad It here
Run it on ur PPC, and NO more anoying messege sent notifaktion

Why would we bother - it's a one-line registry hack and it's a tick box option in the Fit4Cat Hermes tweaker and in JJ's Pimp My Black Utility.....
Here it is, in case anyone wondered....
Code:
Disable SMS Sent Notification
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]
"SMSNoSentMsg"=dword:00000001 ->0 to enable, 1 to disable.
Mark.

Well, I appreciate it. Even tho, it's already available many other ways. I didn't have this way.

hiya
Got an Hermes 300, uncooked, brand new out of the box
got this from hermes regit
SMS Notification Always On
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Setting s]
"SMSDeliveryNotify"=dword:00000001 ->0 to disable, 1 to enable.
Disable SMS Sent Notification
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settin gs]
"SMSNoSentMsg"=dword:00000001 ->0 to enable, 1 to disable.
but i cant find this on my Hermes 300
can only find this on my Resco Register Edit
SMSAvailable
SMSClass0MsgTitle
SMSUnicode
any ideas how i disable the notification
try using HTweakC, its on this forum.
make a new key and DWORD in it.
thanks for that
but since i'm a newbie
can you give be an idoits guide to making a DWORD pls
i think u can find [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\]from ur registry, then make a KEY "Settings" in inbox. going to settings n make a new DWORD "SMSDeliveryNotify" or "SMSNoSentMsg" value set to 00000001 or 00000000, 1=enable,0=disable.
@rickyjune
Afternoon boss, I would highly recommend reading up on registry editting before continuing on this path. If you are unsure how to make a Dword value etc... then it is probably best you use HTweakC. Its a great program anyways and will save you ALOT of time?!
P.S: Its great you are looking to tweak your device but reading reading and more reading is essential so you dont accidently brick your device (temporarily or permenantly), plenty of posts are made daily from people who have royally stuffed thier devices because they havent quite read all the info correctly.
Welcome to XDA-Devs boss.
thank you for the advice
BTW im a MADAM
There are female bosses. I would do as mrvanx suggests. There are other utilites like SKTools and Tweaks2K which will do the same thing and lots of other little registry changes that will save you the hassle of editing them yourself.

Disable vibration alert when phone call is being connected

Whenever a call is being made and answered, my TC will have a vibration alert, how can I disable such alert?
Disable Vibration
Same problem here... looking forward for a solution
I got this thread in this site :
But this doesnt work for me ..
.............................................................
You need to go into Start - Settings - Personal - Sounds and Notifications - Notifications.
Select the "Connection Established" event from the dropdown list and untick the "Vibrate" option.
Have to admit, I didn't realise Vibrate was an option under connect until I just took a look, but I can only assume you managed to set this to on at some point.
The option is in the registry under:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\{8ddf 46e7-56ed-4750-9e58-afc6ce486d03}]
Options under this key can be set to change the notification settings, but I am not sure of the various numbers. It is much easier to set through the method above. Also, I would not guarantee the last part of the registry location as this may be a generated location. The "(Default)" entry in this key on my device is set to "Connection Established" however, which is a dead giveaway.
Hope this helps,
Graham.

Solved. It's caused by the installed 3rd party call manager.

A program named "Callerloc", but it's in Chinese!
I'd like to enable this in my Pharos, but not the registry editinig, nor the 3rd party device installing solved this problem. Plz somebody help.
The vibrate on connect feature exist in the S2U2 third party programs....

Disable auto-complete

This "auto complete" feature in the text messages is driving me crazy
I did disable it in the Input settings but it does not do any difference, when I type something it suggest me some words in grey and when I press space it adds those words in the message.
Is there something else I should disable?
Thanks
Anyone????
yeah dude just go to Settings --> Input--> Word Completion and uncheck it. thats all you need to do. are you using a SMS app?

Thanks but as I have said in the OP, that DID NOT make any difference, it still auto completes everything.
I am not using any SMS app.
I'm using my own a cooked ROM with the same stuff I used to use in my old Apache.
Seems it was just the HTC Diamond SIP that I included in the cooked ROM.
just wondering how to disable word completion without installing htc ezinput, because at input settings by disabling it, doesn't work at all.

notification led

does anyone know how to make the notification led stay on for more than 5 mins for example when receiving an sms? I've looked in settings but the option is grayed out.
Yes go to your settings icon, then go down to the right and press and hold the quickmenu at the bottom right, it's called ""menu" all settings" , there's a bunch of legacy settings to be found there including all the notification settings you and I were used too.
Reply greatly appreciated
You need to edit the registry in order to get access to the settings for LED notification. Look in the thread "hints and tips" for the reg settings. Once applied, you can then change the LED notification time under windows settings.
Is there also a way to make the LED flash when you receive emails?
Did you guys read my post at all, there is no need for registry hacks, the menus are already there. You can do everything you used to do in 6.1 or 6.5
lucid yes we read it but the option for how long the led runs for is grayed out so you can't change it in the legacy settings.
anyone know the registry hack needed?
post by mistake
My sincerest excuses. I went to that screen to verify it existed, not to verify it
was customizable.. my bad..
So... where is that registry hack ?

Sometimes I can't receive SMS!

I don't know if it's ROM related or not but I've got problems with SMS.
1. Sometimes SMS is not received but on the sender phone it says delivered. If it's my carrier's fault surely it won't say delivered?
2. Often, if my phone is on standby SMS will only be received when I wake it up.
I'm using Topix 3.5.5. Any guess of why it's like that? thanks.

same here!!
i read somewhere that i have to delete all of my messages, but i don't know even how to do this
When your phone is on standby mode, which means u trigger the power button to put it on black screen, any sms your sender deliver to you will not sound off but just the blinking green light at top left corner. This make it very irritating as you will not realised until you use your phone.
BUT!!! Its just a simple and easy way to solve this:
1) Download this Registry Editor:
freewareppc.com/utilities/phmregistryeditor.shtml
2) Follow the steps accordingly,
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL : DisableSMSWakeUpEvent <-- set to "1" by default. Change value to "0"
HKLM = HKEY_Local_Machine
And its done!!! Enjoy guys!!!

yup, been using this method for a while. the only problem is that it makes the phone vulnerable to touch. so if you receive sms while the phone is in your pocket, unwanted call could be made.
i suggest further.....
keeping your phone from making unwanted calls (in your case, when phone wakes up,upon receiving sms ) and keeping it locked...
take a look at...
LOCKDEVICE 1.6 ....by DANIEL HERRERO REY (..here on xda...)
if you want to ....here is the link ....(read it..)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=542482
i have been using this application, for months, and it works , according to me very ,very well ! )
just to add, i had same problem as you ..not receving sms's etc...( when phone is asleep ).
tweaked it with " tweak hd " to wake up and notify me ..
now it wakes up..(but above) ..LOCKDEVICE... keeps it locked..
(i set application to autolock, when i switch phone light off )
good luck
