Disable SMS Sent Notification
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settin gs]
"SMSNoSentMsg"=dword:00000001 ->0 to enable, 1 to disable.
but i cant find this on my Hermes 300
can only find this on my Resco Register Edit
SMSAvailable
SMSClass0MsgTitle
SMSUnicode
any ideas how i disable the notification
try using HTweakC, its on this forum.
make a new key and DWORD in it.
thanks for that
but since i'm a newbie
can you give be an idoits guide to making a DWORD pls
i think u can find [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\]from ur registry, then make a KEY "Settings" in inbox. going to settings n make a new DWORD "SMSDeliveryNotify" or "SMSNoSentMsg" value set to 00000001 or 00000000, 1=enable,0=disable.
@rickyjune
Afternoon boss, I would highly recommend reading up on registry editting before continuing on this path. If you are unsure how to make a Dword value etc... then it is probably best you use HTweakC. Its a great program anyways and will save you ALOT of time?!
P.S: Its great you are looking to tweak your device but reading reading and more reading is essential so you dont accidently brick your device (temporarily or permenantly), plenty of posts are made daily from people who have royally stuffed thier devices because they havent quite read all the info correctly.
Welcome to XDA-Devs boss.
thank you for the advice
BTW im a MADAM
There are female bosses. I would do as mrvanx suggests. There are other utilites like SKTools and Tweaks2K which will do the same thing and lots of other little registry changes that will save you the hassle of editing them yourself.

i have been looking through the forum, and have found ways to do it using the registry, but i want to put "New SMS" on the left. What is the program to run?
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\112\Open = "\ ???????? .exe
Thanks!
Or perhaps does anyone have the t-mobile "soft keys app" from their extended rom? this will allow me to use a GUI format instead. Thanks
Ben
Best that i know - (what i use) is wm5menu (free) - changes the menu for the left softkey. You can have just new sms or new appt. new word doc, new task etc. find attached.
thats great, works well once i worked out how to use it.
This changes the registry to
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\112\Open = "Windows\wm5NewMenu.exe"
Is there a way to make it not require two clicks? As Left Soft Key now loads WM5NewMenu, and then a pop up loads giving New SMS. I'm looking for instant new text!
Thanks
VJPhoneTools can do it, somehow. I forget how, but it's on the forum somewhere!
V
Lol vijay, you need a holiday!
Vijay: If you get the oppurtunity/remember how could you post the small line of code for the registry on here for me?
Thanks!

But I do need a holiday

YES! After 2 months of trying to make left softkey "New SMS" i have found the necessaries to do so:
Included is an app from the T-mobile UK rom in the windows folder that opens a new sms. put this into ur windows file, (does not matter which rom u are usingi dont think-i have tested on o2-uk and imate kjam roms), and make the following changes to ur registry:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\112\Open = "Windows\tnsms.exe"
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\112\(Default) = New SMS
reset and ur away!
I thought i should share because it has taken such a long time for me to do!
This file can be run from anywhere so if you want to make new sms from the today screen etc u can.
Ben
benjdc: did VJSMS "" not work? What system are you using?
V
im using WM5, but i wanted something with no strings-no command line and other apps included. this was what i was looking for in the end. thanks for ur help though!
Very nice
Thanks benjdc, very nice app: simple and so much more useful than the Calendar.
One minor thing though -- the file is named 'tnsms_108.exe', meaning the Open registry has to be renamed or (as I did) the file renamed to match your instructions.
Cheers!
Hey. I'm trying to stop the window that pops up after you send a text message, the says "message sent." I've tried creating the value "SMSNoSentMsg" with DWORD = "0" in both HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox and HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings. I'm still receiving the notification window.. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks,
i just figured it out..
this is to stop the "message sent" window for popping up
[HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]
"SMSNoSentMsg"= dword:00000001
You might have to create the Settings directory.
-Adam
I have the same setting in mine and still the messages pop up. However, are you talking about the sent message notification or the delivery notification?
I had the same problem, and i found a .cab file that automatically edits the registry for you. It worked very well for me.
goto http://surrealnetworks.com/mpx on your wing's PIE browser. Then look in the registry edits for the MDA. They also have a few others that might be helpful. Just install the cab file and it takes care of everything for you and you don't have to worry about editing the registry yourself.
hope this helps
Hi All, I am new to the site and so far soo good i have a few question but tryn to figure them out on my own... but i read a detailed post by
James105 ( which can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=318184) and it stoped that stupid sms notifacation... thanks James...
Adam in your 1st post i think you were in the wrong reg root... and you had the value on 0 which means your still going to get the pop up.
This is what i used to stop mine from going off
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\SMSNoSentMs g = 1 (DWORD decimal)
i perfer to do reg edit saves room on my phone or memory card then installing an app... then again you can always erase the app afterwards . eh
yeah.. i was creating the SMSNoSentMsg value in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\; the settings folder wasn't there, so i figured out that i had to create it, and then add the value.

For anyone on a provider using a third party's towers eg. Fido on Roger's network in Canada. You'll notice the roaming triangle in the taskbar. While researching i've found a Registry key which i tried out without any sucess:
Code:
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL
DisableRoamingIndicator=0
I found this key:
Code:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Taskbar\
Dword name: [B]ConsistentRoamingIconSlot[/B]
Dword Value (decimal): [B]0[/B]
which hides the triangle when you have a program open in the foreground (will still show on today screen). Works really well on default rom since the panels are considered a program and the triange will only show when you're in a call or on the windows today screen.
The sms fix was found in the Touch HD wiki under tips and tricks.
Code:
Incorrect SMS Time - As provided by Touch-Guy..
Create DWORD key TrustTimeZoneField and set the value to 0 under
HKLM\Software\OEM\PhoneSetting
Fixed the location of the ConsistentRoamingIconSlot, posted wrong location previously.
Thx, the roaming logo was buggin me!
thanks a lot, I wish there was a way to completely remove it but this is great!
I just got X1 with WM6.1 and tried to change the Registry to correct the SMS time issue, but it did not work. Any idea?
it worked for me. Try to do a soft reset after you do the regedit.
Still not working..
Someone pointed my out the 'SMS time' registry fix before but it doesn't work for me. I've got the latest TF3D installed.. all the received messages state the time an hour earlier then they actually arrived.
Somebody got a working solution for me?

Hi, I have the Xperia, and im kinda stumbled how to fix the SMS problems can anyone please help me? i would be much appriciated. Thank you.
Hey guys.. searched the forum but couldn't find the answer to this question.
I've installed TF3D (2) on my Xperia and all the incoming text message seem to display an incorrect receivetime.. one hour earlier then they actually got send.
I think this has something to do with daytime savings or something but is there a way to fix this?
Wrong SMS Time Stamp in a 6.1 Rom? Here's the FIX:
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\PhoneSetting\
Add a dword key "TrustTimeZoneField" and give it a dword value of 0
Tried it.. didn't work.

Anybody???
Hi all,
i have an htc hd2 with the original windows mobile 6.5 rom (italian).
As I have written in the subject, is there the possibility to activate the led notification when a new email arrives?
With an "app"/mod or simply editing some keyword into the windows registry?
Many thanks
no help?
:/
i am writing this from my memory, so i'm sorry i can't be very clear about the exact steps.
press the Start button, look for "Settings". you might have to find "All Settings". once there, look for something like "Sounds & Notifications".
in the sounds and notifications settings, there will be a combo box where you can choose the event you want to configure. in your case, you want to configure the "new email" event. so choose it from the combo box.
once you've chosen the event, its current configuration will be populated in the bottom half of the screen. one of those settings will be something like "Flash light for" against which you can give a value like "disabled", "1 minute", "2 minutes", so on.
the above instructions might be a bit ambiguous but i KNOW for a fact that WM6.5 can do exactly what you desire in this thread.
Hi and thanks for your answer.
I watched this setting before writing this post and unfortunately in that tab there isn't any check relating "Flash light" or something similar.
...and it's strange 'cause for example when a new sms arrives, the led blinks. And selecting in the combo the voice "New text message" the voice "Flash light" still doesn't appear...
I'm confused
Incredible...
I have watched on my "old" tytn with wm6.0 and this setting is present.
No one knows if there is some key into the wm registry?
Maaany thanks
Have it on my NRG ROM.
Have a look into BSB Tweaks app as this has some LED Notification adding options.
Will look into my registry & see what I can find.
It is indead as easy as adding reg keys ...
do a search as got to be a few threads on this but as always XDA search is ****e, best doing direct in Google.
Check out this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=606212
Adding registry or adjusting current "AvailableOptions" Dword value should do the trick .
As an example: my New MMS alert had LED option greyed out but by setting the AvailableOptions dword to 0 eneable the drop down menu of time selection & the check boxes to be ticked/unlicked as required ....

Copy your complete registry (CEReg Editor) for Notifications & post it so we can take a look.
All works on mine & as registry based should on yours if done right ...

no solutions?
Try manually changing dword values as shown below.
Example is based on new email key;
Your current values are:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\{A877D65A-239C-47a7-9304-0D347F580408}]
"Options"=dword:0000000d
"Duration"=dword:00000005
"AvailableOptions"=dword:0000000f
"Wave"="\\Windows\\Alert-Twitter.wav"
@="Messaggi: Nuovo messaggio e-mail"
My working values are:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\{A877D65A-239C-47a7-9304-0D347F580408}]
"Options"=dword:00000005
"AvailableOptions"=dword:00000000
"Wave"="\\Windows\\Alert-Notify.wav"
@="Messaging: New e-mail message"
"Duration"=dword:00000000
change the "Options" value= 5 "AvailableOptions" value= 0 & "Duration" value= 0 and see if you can get it working.
You could also try copying your values from a notification that has correct LED function if above values do not work.
Also compare check box status box availability (greyed out) in sound settings for the key you adjust before & after adjustment to see if changes are showing.
Could always be a bug with something else on your ROM causing issue even when registry is correct ! perhaps !!

it doesn't work....
i have also copied same values from sms notifications (has led that blinks when a new sms arrives) but no positive result.... :/
And a news for "new email notifications": with check "Vibration" checked, sometimes (and I'm not able to understand which event... or if it is randomize) I also noticed that with new email the phone start vibrating... and it doesn't stop until I press a key... incredible
okok, I try to be happy only with the sound notification

if you feel a bit adventurous, there are many guides here on how to change your rom.
you can choose to stay with WM6.5 if you want, in which case i would suggest looking in the HD2 WM6.5 development forum and try out NRGZ's "energy" rom.
and you have a whole lot of other more "modern" options like android and WP7, etc.
i know for a fact that all of the above options will give you the kind of notification options you desire! i used the stock WM6.5 only for the first 2-3 months after buying an HD2. then i switched to NRGZ's WM6.5 roms, and then i switched to SD android (the only kind of android available for HD2 at that time) and then finally to NAND android when magldr was launched in Dec 2010. when i used WM6.5, i used NRGZ's rom longer and later than the stock rom, so thats where i remember seeing the option for new email notification with led flash.
I too can recommend NRG 6.5.x ROMs, huge improvement from standard factory ROMs & for me so good I have not bothered with Android.
Thanks to everybody for the support!
Does the NRG 6.5.x ROM have italian language?

Yes. 29022 is latest 6.5.x build available in Italian & several choices such as close to stock or themed & with or without sense & CHT mod ...
Make sure you read up on requirements prior to flashing & follow tips such as hard reset after initial flash & first boot, small points but make big difference to bug free running ...
Good!
Now i have only to find "a little" of free time to read, flash and... reinstall again all my applications...
