Try going into Settings -> Connections, then USB to PC and uncheck 'enable advanced networking functionality' and hit ok. That may solve the RNDIS problem.
Also, to use your phone's internal data connection, use the WModem app in Program Files, make sure the APN is correct (in the WModem settings) then in Windows make a new connection using *99# as the number to dial, use the same username and password as your data connection requires normally. most of the UK network settings are on here, if you're on T Mobile UK i can give you more detailed advice but I suspect you're not
tip: kill ActiveSync before loading WModem, the connection just won't 'take' if it's still open because the phone has to be recognised as an htc modem by the PC, and if AS is still open that'll hijack the usb connection.

Do you have active sync installed? WM5 or WM6?

done, it doesnt seems to work

The error message is suggesting a problem with the inf file.. (does a standard activesync connection work when you plug the phone in normally?)
i'd try searching all the inf files in windows\inf for the RNDIS text.. (you should only need to look in the OEMxx.inf files) when you find one delete it (keep a backup)
reboot and reinstall activesync latest version.. then reconnect and see if it redetects properly

still didnt solve the problem, i couldnt find "windows\inf" folder. ny more solution

i got this error, when i use internet sharing in WM6

try an update driver on the generic RNDIS device and then choose location and pick the drivers in activesync (under Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync\Drivers) presuming that you use activesync 4.5

You need to uninstall any version of active synch prior to version 4.5...reboot and install 4.5.
On the hermes, go to settings/connections/usb and uncheck advanced network connectivity.
Connect your hermes, make sure active synch finds it and synchs. Then disconnect it. Go into file/connections on the desktop active synch and disable the usb connection.
On the hermes, open active synch/options and uncheck the box where it says connect through usb.
Then plug in the hermes and start internet sharing. This will allow it to connect. Each time you want to synch you have to reverse the steps in active synch both on the pc and hermes. Once you are synched disable the connections again.
I have been using my hermes like this all summer. Works great.

Activesync connecting... problem

Hi Guys,
My T-Mobile Vario is not connecting ActiveSync anymore.
Windows finds the device, the device gets a IP address. ActiveSync sees there is a device and tries to connect. But it can't get connected.
I allways worked with ActiveSync 4.2 NL. When the problem started I installed ActiveSync 4.5 BETA 2, but it didn't solve the problem.
I tried connecting my device to my laptop with ActiveSync 4.2, but with no success.
It looks like the activesync on the device is not responting to the computer.

Now I tried, ActiveSync does not do anything when the mode is set to Serial. When I turn the mode back to RNDIS the problem remains.
this happened to me after i installed some software, i had to hard re set and install everything again one item at a time to find out which one was causing the problem, i found out it was some free weather software. hope this helps
So, it's technicly a software problem. I was not planned to do a hard-reset becouse I loose all my settings and messages etc.
Any of you guys have a solution where I don't have to hard reset my device?
Thx.
There is no way around it, i had all the things like you did and the same screens when i click troubleshoot and it all said it should be working but it wernt, so i had to hard reset but i was lucky as i have saved it all to my pc, get a memery card and save all your programes to that then hard re set.
The data is not the problem. I got a mem card. But all my new appointments are on my PDA and are not synchronized with my PC yet. Is there a way to copy the agenda file or something and replace it back to my PDA afther the hard reset?
Edit: I'm now trying to use Sprite Back-up to back-up all my data. Let's see if it's working.
Woohooo, it worked. I restored all my messages and appiontments after the hard-reset with Sprite. ActiveSync works again.
Thx.
glad it all worked

terminal Server Port number

Hi,
Is there any way to use the terminal server client to use different port numbers. I have terminal servers that use non standard as well as default ports, we change to get though firewalls ect. I know you can change the default listener port, is there anyway to enter the port number from the TS interface, in the windows world I would just enter servername:2323 and it would use port 2323.. Any ideas?
With the WM6 version of Remote Desktop you can enter the URL/IP Address followed by a colon and then the port number, but not in WM5.
You could try and install the WM6 version that's attached, although I haven't tried it on WM5. (DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK, ETC)
What you can do with the WM5 version of RDP is
1. Copy and paste the default RDP Shortcut on the PPC and rename it with any name describing the server you want to connect to.
2. Run the new RDP shortcut and then use the Running Programs tab in the Start > Settings > System tab > Memory app to actually stop RDP. (This creates the necessary registry entries.)
3. Edit the following registry key on the PPC.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client\<NEW SHORTCUT NAME>]
Add a DWORD value named "Server Port" and enter the new port number
you want to use.
For what it's worth, the WM6 version allows automatic login and is far more responsive.

Thanks!! The WM6 works great, one note it doesn't replace the old version. Just had to create a shortcut to the new version and it works with no problems.

[URGENT] Please, somebody please help me!!

Hey guys first of all thanks for reading this thread.
Just got a very nasty problem with my BLACKSTONE recently.
Here's my problem:
When I started using the "Microsoft ActiveSync", the following msg was being shown:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

}
Any idea what the problem might be ??
After that, I tried to copy my files to my device, and the following error was being shown:
And if I use the "FILE TO FILE TRANSFER" option, I am UNABLE to copy anything or delete anything from my STORAGE CARD.
I just tried to format the STORAGE CARD, but it wouldn't help, problem still exists.
Could anyone please provide solutions to this ??
And please let me know if HARD RESET would help?? (The last thing I want to do :S)
Truly, thanks a lot.

probably uninstall and reinstall activesync again.

Card gone hooky maybe? Would affect AS if the attachments are set to store there.
Try reading card in separate reader, pull everything off, format, put everything back on and try again?
First of all you need to be a little more specific. Are you using Microsoft Vista, XP etc?
If your using vista, have you tried syncing through Windows Mobile Device Centre?

Yes of course! u have to tell us which OS are u using, sencond time try to download the latest version of active sync from microsoft official web site, it's a free download, fast and secure!
Be carefull, maybe a micro SD card hooky or some connections settings not correct. Try to read others 3ds, u should find the best solution!
Final approach? uninstall and reinstall the software....
Bye max
blatantly obvious that it is windows XP. i've only seen vista once and I know that the menus don't look like that.
if all else fails do a hard reset on the phone and reinstall activesync like these guys said. also try a new cable and/or USB port
STOOP!!!!! --- I have the same problem!!! so heres what I do -- when my device cant connect because of that error (same youve got) I just kill activesync in task manager (its called WCESMgr.exe ) and start active sync again (in C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync -- wcescomm.exe) and then device connects normaly!!!
Hope this works for you too!!!
Try a different cable? That fixed mine.
Hummm...
So the problem seems to be either with the phone or the computer
Try:
restarting the computer/phone
using a different computer
a different cable (as was suggested)
If it still doesn't work,
It's a problem with the phone: either software or hardware
Try:
Hard reset
If that STILL doesn't work, then sounds like it's something wrong with the hardware and you should send it back for testing
Hope that helps!
Another option would be to try Synching via Bluetooth (if your PC has bluetooth)
Guys, very thanks for all your attention and support.
Yes, it's WINDOWS XP.
I will try again with a new cable tonight when I get back home.
And actually, I don't use MicroActiveSync very often.
I usually transfer file with the option "HARD DISK", just like a USB drive.
Just since that problem had occurred, I tried to use SYNC to xfer' file.
Eventually both doesn't work as I mentioned at the beginning.
Now, I gonna try again tonight and will keep this thread updated.
------------------------------------------------------------
Two more questions, thanks guys.
1. I couldn't delete anything on the STORAGE CARD when I while using the phone. Error shown "Access denied" something like that.
It happened before I have my storage card formated, Any idea ???
2. How to HARD RESET ??
Please, thanks so much. Have a nice day.

1. Turn off device
2. Hold down vol up & vol down and then turn on device
3. Screen will go to bootloader temporaily then you'll be presented with a message blah blah blah etc
4. Press vol up to hard reset
Thanks, Fallen Spartan
I think I have to go with this Option eventually
Cuz even if I use the new cable, problem still exists.
Especially the STORAGE CARD problem, I can't even DELETE files from my STORAGE CARD while I was using the device. No idea why.
I don't think it's the storage card problem cuz I did try several cards.
Anyway thanks a lot for you guys help.
Did you try this -- just kill activesync in task manager (its called WCESMgr.exe ) and start active sync again (in C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync -- wcescomm.exe)
It solved the problem for me ( prob still persists but I kill async and I can connect normally)
Sometimes the answer is quite simple!!!
I had that problem and fixed it by going to:
Start
Settings
Connections
USB to PC
Clear the tick box "Enable faster data sync"
I'm not sure if they're really related but i never had problems sync again.
RE: Kristaps-K9-Lv
Yes I did try that, doesn't help but thanks
RE: deco
Tried, but it doesn't work for me
Hi guys, I guess I have the same problem ( I just posted it here)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=498326&page=101
I don't think it has anythng to do with neither the card nor cable/active sync as I too usually do my stuff via "disk drive" option.
I've realized that after the first "crash" of the card ( its not visible anymore wherever i look for it) and reconnecting the USB cable the phone gives me only 2 instead of 3 options (Active sync or Internet), the 3rd option "disk drive" is gone. I also tried it through the HD file explorer and the "storage card" doesnt show in the tree anymore.
I suspect it has something to do with HTC's new ROM (1.56)..?
wait! You have this problem long time ago?
What do you do? I can do nothing now... only flash back?
btw on page 101 there is no post from you!
edit:
confused now

Try uninstall the USB drivers from your PC. Or try other USB ports to detect your device. Sounds like your USB drivers has screwed up. Should not be your device problem.

Before start working on the hardware, I suggest to investigate the software side further. Have you make a factory reset? (Worst case). Try enable and disable the USB debugging mode as well. http://androidteen.com/how-to-enable-usb-debugging-mode-on-android-devices/
Try to toggle both media file mode and camera mode. See what is the response from your device to pc.

Call from Windows using Android phone

Background
Back in the day when every computer connecting to the internet was using a modem and dial-up link, you could also use the modem to dial from your computer to any phone number using dialer.exe. This was great because you didn't have to leave your keyboard and could use your pc speakers and microphone to make a call. This made me wondering if it would be possible to use my mobile phone (in my case the Samsung Galaxy Note II) to act as a modem to make phone calls. I have looked over some forums and managed to get this working. Since it took me a while, I made this thread so other people can replicate.
Before we begin
These steps were successful using:
Samsung Galaxy Note II (Android version: 4.4.2) and Windows 7 (64-bit)
Steps
Connect phone to pc as a modem
Install phone as a modem in Windows
Make a phone call
Step 1: Connect phone to pc as a modem
Enable Developer Options menu
On your phone go to "Settings", "More", "About phone".
Locate "Build number" and tab it a few times. You will get a notification that the Developer Options menu is enabled.
Enable USB debugging
On your phone go to "Settings", "More", "Developer Options"
Locate and enable "USB-debugging"
Enable USB to act as a modem
On your phone go to Phone and dial *#7284# (including the asterisk and hash). The Phone Util service mode will appear.
Under "USB" select "MODEM" and press "SAVE and RESET". Your phone will now reset.
Connect your phone to your pc using an USB cable
If your phone isn't already connected to your pc, now is the time...
Step 2: Install phone as a modem in Windows
I have used this thread to enable the modem under Windows: [REF][XMM] Infineon FlashTool & Comneon 7 CDCs Driver by E:V:A. This might also be helpful to install the drivers for other phones.
Detecting hardware
When your device has reset and is connected to your pc Windows will detect the new hardware, but will probably not find any drivers. There will be 7 CDC's listed as new hardware and one Comneon USB device.
Download drivers
The drivers for the Comneon modem can be found here: DRIVERS___WMC_comneon_3.33.0.exe - 694.68 KB
Or for the brave the direct download link: http://fs1.d-h.st/download/00111/55i/DRIVERS___WMC_comneon_3.33.0.exe
Install drivers
Install the drivers using administrative privileges. After installation the modem should be found and installed correctly. The following devices should be listed in Device Manager
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Step 3: Make a phone call
Phone and modem
In Windows go to Control Panel and search for "modem". Click on "Phone and Modem". If you haven't set a location before, add one now.
Go to tab "Modems", your device's modem should be located here. Select it and click "Properties". Go to the tab "Diagnostics" and click "Query Modem" if you get a response (e.g. not a blank response) your device's modem is correctly installed. Close all windows.
Phone Dialer
Press Start, Run (or Windows key + R) and start dialer.exe, located in the system32 directory: %windir%\system32\dialer.exe.
In Phone Dialer go to the "Tools" menu and select "Connect using".
Under "Line" select the modem we just installed. Click "Line Properties" and set the "Port speed" to "115200" (this step is not really required).
Now we are ready to make a call. Type in any Phone Number and the Phone Dialer will start the call. The "Call Status" will pop-up. Do not press any of the buttons unless you want to hang up.
Tips & Tricks
You still have to use the phone's speaker and mic to actually communicate. To use the computer's speakers and microphone I use a bluetooth dongle to let the computer act as a bluetooth headset for my phone. Not every bluetooth dongle is capable of this feature, you need one with a headset profile (HSP). The Konig Micro Bluetooth USB 4.0 Dongle has this profile and I use it to turn my pc into a headset.
You can also make calls from Windows using Outlook. Go to "Contacts" and right click any contact and select "Call". You can also make a phone call to any number by selecting "Call" under "More" in the ribbon of "Contacts".
Using Hyper Terminal it is also possible to receive incoming phone calls. You can connect to the COM port that is used by the modem (the used COM port is located in the properties of the modem). When connected to the COM port you can answer a call by typing the command ATA followed by Enter.
Final words
Any comments are greatly appreciated, since this is my first ever post. Also if you have similar successful implementations, feel free to comment so I can add these to the list. Thank you for reading and special thanks to E:V:A for submitting his useful post on where to find the modem drivers.
Great job... but it would have been easier to use speaker phone mode on the phone
Use MyPhoneExplorer...
You can call, sms, install apps, access data, call logs any many more...
No need to do any setting, just keep USB Debugging On....
You can even connect mobile wireless also thru wifi...
Nice work OP!
Another easy way to do this is to install MightyText. But then you're entrusting all your data to a third party.
Nice trick but a difficult one.
Did you ever ask yourself the question ... "But Why?"
