Hi everyone,
Just notice the File explorer is unable to send file through bluetooth.....there is no option to select at all, no matter with bluetooth turn on or turn off.
Is this just me or......

look for a Bluetooth Explorer CAB
or use VP3G's WM6

beam sends via bluetooth if everything is on. discoverable n all. searching turns into device so n so then bluetooth beam me up.
confusing but true

hur...... why Microsoft just always miss something in >.<

Qtek 2020 how to send a file through bluetooth ?

Hello , I have paired p900 with my qtek 2020 but i didn't find a menu or a program to send files using BT . How i have to do to send a file via bt to p900 or other devices ?
Thanks .
Alvise
If you open file explorer on your xda2, locate the file you wish to send, tap and hold with stylus, you will see a popup menu showing infrared then the bluetooth device should also appear below that, just tap on the device you wish to send to. Ensure that bluetooth is activated before attempting this.
The problem is that i have only infrared option , i don't know why !!
BT
Goto
Start - Settings - Connections - Beam
and check the
Receive all incoming beams
radio button Bro.
The beam option is not just for infra red, it detects all the bonded BT devices in range. It should pop up on the beam screen the device you want to send to.

bluetooth file transfer needed

hi,
searched thru the forums but cant find an answer anywhere. When i press and hold on a file theres no option to send via bluetooth? So i cant send anything over blutooth only receive. I checked the registry under obex and the value is 1 which i beleive means i can transfer using obex. Could somebody please point me in the right direction to get bluetooth filetransfer to work. Is it just my mini s or is this a known bug?
cheers
Hi try the following
Turn on bluetooth on both devices
In file explorer click and hold the file and select beam file
you will see infrared tap to send and searching
the searching is the bluetooth looking for a device
after a short while the Bluetooth device should appear in the list
Hope this helps
Fergy

I have tried this on my 8125 to bluetooth to a MDA and i can see the MDA and we even tried pairing the devices but still could not transfer. Every time it fails. The weird part is that the MDA cant see me to beam to my 8125. Any fix's? I tried the OBEX reg hack already.

Vodafone 1605 Bluetooth file transfer question

I have the Vodafone 1605/Compact III
Even though the manual says flie transfer is possible from the device, the "beam" option only allows for infrared, then tapping and holding "send" only allows for MMS or Email. I canot find how to send files such as photos via Bluetooth on the 1605, can anyone help?
Have you got bluetooth turned on? When another BT device is nearby you should see the option to send via bluetooth.
Hi,
For my experience you can tap and send file via irda....then in the beam screen you will see the other bluetooth devices....
I have problems in order to receive the files, did you try?
Ciao.

Bluetooth problem.

Hi guys. I've been trying my bluetooth today on my Hermes (a Dopod 838pro, a HERM100 model). Interestingly I cannot send or receive any files, or contacts, even though to/from another PPC. Anyone experiencing this problem? But BT headset no problem.
Hi, I had same problem until I realised that I hadn't ticked the 'Receive all incoming beams' box in the >'settings'>'connections'>'beam' section.
Did you check this? (sometimes it is easy to overlook the obvious)
Isn't that only for IrDA beams though? Or does it also affect BT "beams?" (I've always wondered why Microsoft decided to call something that is in the heart a radio signal a "beam")
I used to think it only related to IR as well but Beam as far as WM 5.0 is concerned, relates to bluetooth and IR.
Yeah, that confused me too... Similarly, if you tap 'n hold on any file and click Beam File... You can send via Bluetooth from that menu too.
I wish they'd renamed it to something other than Beam File, it gets confusing if you've ever owned more than one WM device

Bluetooth File Transfer

Hello Every1,
I would like to apologies first in case this topics has been already been talked about, but I could not find anything.
My V1605 has a problem if I trasfer file via bluetooth to my laptop or any pc with bluetooth I can do it but if I try to transfer the file from a laptop or a pc with bluetooth the pc say that it cannot find the service on my pda.
I've tryed modifying the registry:
HLM\Software\Microsoft\Obex\IsEnabled from 0 to 1
But eveytime I soft rest the PDA it goes back to 0.
I've try without soft rest but I stll cannot transfer file from my laptop to my PDA I've try changing the Registry and switch off the PDA for 10 minute then soft rest but I get the same thing the Registry goes back to 0.
Is the something that I',m missing to get the bluetooth to transfer both way or is it that this unit cannot do it??????
Please Help.
Thank You
Gigino
Settings > Connections > Beam > receive all

This is something very basic but thought to still write in case you are missing it.
Navigate to Start / Settings / Connections(tab) and open the 'Beam' icon. See if the checkbox 'Receive all incoming beams' is checked. This should be checked.
This is sometimes confused as being for infra red transfer only whereas this also applies to bluetooth file transfer.
Hope this helps

Yup, it's very confusing - this is why I've elaborated on this question at http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=1196&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1

Hello
Thank you every1 that put a solution on the forum but I'm afraid I still have the same problem.
I've put the tick in the receive all beam box but I still cannot transfer file via bluetooth to my pda.
I've checked the registry to see if the Obex is ste to 1 and it is.
When I click on my bluetooth icon on my laptop I search for a bluetooth device it find my pda a tap on my pda to transfer a file and I get a message on my laptop saying:
Service File Transfer Is Not Availabe On Device Gigi.
Any anther suggestions.
Thanks

Strange. Did you try for example to hack a Widcomm BT stack on it?
(I'm afraid a hard reset is in order...)
