Hi!
Is there a way to disable the touch screen when I get an incoming call? I find that I'm so clumsy that I always end up touching something by accident, either accepting a call or denying a call while I'm pulling it out of my pocket.
Edit: By that I mean, just while it's ringing, so that the touchscreen functions normally once you're in a call.
Thanks,
Tiny

Is there a way (settings or additional utility) to have the screen locked when you receive an incoming call?
Imagine having your phone in your pants pocket when you receive a call: it's almost impossible to take it out without touching anything on the screen and thereby launching all different programs etc, making it impossible to see who's calling...
Perfect would be a solution that either completely locks the touchscreen at an incoming call (you can still use the buttons below the screen) or just leaves the slide to answer area active and "locks" the rest of the screen.

i wear my touch hd in case, when someone call my and i take out the phone from the case almost every time i close the calling by touching the right button on the bottom of the phone.
Can i turn off the buttons of the phone and use only the slider for answering someones call?
? put your phone in the case the other way up ?
how do i stop this? i'd like the phone to automatically lock or something to prevent this from happening. it appears that first, the screen with all of your apps opens, then my cheek or whatever hits a program. any ideas? thanks
Does this happen when you make a call, or when a call comes in?
If you phone is locked and you get an incoming call, after you answer it remains locked except for the calling options (i.e end call, flash, etc.) but I'm not too sure if you dial out though but ive never had this problem...
this happenes to me too. my cheek will hit the screen and either open things or call someone else while on the phone. It is annoying.
This really should not happen, as the device has a proximity sensor that should turn off the screen when the device is held up to your face. If you make a call with the phone held in your hand and you cover up the top of the phone, say the top 2 inches, with your other hand, does the screen blank? It should. If not, the proximity sensor may be bad and a replacement is in order.
Hi,
I realised that sometimes when I am talking on the phone I could accidentally disconnect a call with my cheek. I know there is supposed to be a proximity sensor thing preventing it from happening. But still it happens now & then. Is there any apps to lock the screen while on call? or a sliding "OFF" button? So the call won't get disconnected that easily with a touch while on call?

also looking for something like this.
While in a call, press the home button or the power button. That will prevent you from hanging up.

First check you have all the latest software updates. If it is still a problem send it back (if its under warranty)!!
The proximity sensor is meant to turn the screen off when the phone is by your face and this deactivates any buttons that could be pressed. When you remove the phone from your ear the screen should automatically turn back on. If the screen is on when its next to your ear there is something wrong. You should not have to use an app or press anything so I suggest getting in contact with HTC asap.
There's this super annoying thing with phones - if they're in your pocket and somebody calls you, the screen gets pressed by my pants while walking or cycling. Is there any way i can force the screen touch to not work while the call screen is in the foreground and headphones are connected? Of course it should also have a touch area or some button which when pressed would allow normal touch on it. This is driving me nuts ... what's the point of answering a call via headphones if I'm forced to take it out and fix the accidentally opened apps.
Can somebody please tell me how exactly to create this? http://grokbase.com/t/gg/tasker/12cjrbc4a7/disable-the-touch-screen
