Same thing occurred with me.
I think it has something to do with your
PC systems clock settings?????
Later
As far as I can tell, the XDA syncs to the PC clock everytime you active sync it. My pc clock was set to june 2001 (I don't use it much) and it used to drive me crazy that this was happening till I found out why !!

I know it's a bit late and you've already got round this problem by not syncing your pda time with desktop, but i just thought i might mention that i had the same problem with my SPV E200. Every time i synched with my computer, the time on the E200 would lose 6hrs, was very frustrating for a few days until i realised that my time zones were set to different places on my phone and computer. Computer was set to London GMT as it should be but phone was set to somewhere in USA thus every time i docked with my computer, the time on the phone was set to the correct time as if i were in USA. Just had to change my time zone to the right one and everything fine
Tnx Pal!
I checked and that was IT!
Now it works Like it should )
Keep up the good work!

I found this article and thought I would pass it on. Microsoft has provided the registry setting to implement new DST for PDA's and SmartPhones. This site I found, edgeblog, has provided a nice cab to make it easier for us...
Thanks guys! (Why couldn't M$ make the cab for us???)
Ty.. my work is giving me headaches over the DST changes, atleast my PDA won't
I am glad that there are some others that know about the DST change..... can you say Y2K all over again, but this time there will be a problem the day after.
Where is all the press coverage this time? I know my machines will work on March 11!!
This would really help.
Thanks, Dr. P
Additional file needed?
On the MS site, it says "For some versions of Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC, there will be additional updates required that will be available the week of February 26. We apologize for the inconvenience." Any idea if the MDA needs these additional updates?
Any idea if this cab will work with WM6 roms?

I tried the one from MS's site and it failed on install. Somewhere I thought that WM6 was already ready for this...but I could be wrong.
Just found a page on MS's site about WM6 and I quote:
Q. Does Microsoft’s recently released Windows Mobile 6 platform require this update?
A. No. It does not require an update.
The page is here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/daylightsaving/daylightdownload.mspx and the question is the very last one.
Did this cab actually work for anyone?

I first tried to install the official Microsoft cab that they were nice enough to notify me about, but it wouldn't even install.
Then I installed DST2007.cab - it installed fine.
However, Sunday I woke and eagerly checked my 8125, and NO CHANGE HAD OCCURRED.
So I set the time manually, and then my alarms were all off.
Did this cab work for anyone?
Edit: Just went to edgeblog, and found this post: "Once you apply the patch, you must manually change your timezone to something else and click apply. After that, change it back to your correct time zone. This forces the phone to re-read the registry file. I tested this on my Blackjack and it worked perfect. The phone changed the time correctly at 03/11/2007 2:00AM to 3:00AM and gave me a dialog box telling me it had adjusted for DST."
So, I have re-installed the cab and done the above, and soft-reset, and now when I do SP TimeSync I don't have the hour difference anymore that I was getting.
Moral of the story: Not just read the posts, but follow the links and read, rinse and repeat.
I'm installing this now, I hope it helps because this was exactly what I was looking for. After DST my entire phone has been messed up. All appointments are starting an hour later and ending an hour later....but the best....really lovely part is that my alarm goes off an hour early. The fact that my phone has made it through angry mornings for a week is a miracle. I hope this helps.
I am a frequent traveller, I travel a lot between Eastern and Central Time zones.
When my PPC was on WM5 it used to Auto update the time no matter which state I used to be in.
But ever since I updated my PPC to WM6 the AutoUpdate of clock stopped working. Can someone help me out
i did find a registry entry which I used.. I do timezone tab in Phone settings and it is checked to autoupdate and still the phone is unable to update the time from network.
anyhelp is greatly appreciated
You are seriously wondering why you are not getting full functionality out of a bootlegged OS?

I can't help with the WM6 question...but I am curious how you managed this with the WM5 OS. I have an 8125 and apparently a similar travel pattern. My device NEVER updates the time based on the network. How did you set this up when you were still running 5?
I am interested in how you got it working as well. Mine did not update once from the east coast to the west coast. Not even when making a call.
well i have a reg tweek that will change the time when you enter a diff time zone via the network...hope this is what your looking for....
Timezone and time update
In the branch HKLM\Software\OEM\PhoneSetting Change the value of the Key "ShowTimeZonesPage" to value of 1 (dword). Close your registry editor (no reset required) and tap START-SETTINGS-PHONE, there should be a new tab where you can automatically set the phone to get time and timezone information from the network. Really useful for me as I do extensive travelling. Tested on WM5

Yes! Its there on WM6 too!!!! Dont know if it actually works, yet to travel in a different timezone.
I have had it enabled in my registry in WM5 and WM6. It's NEVER worked for me. I change phones a lot so I'm always taking out the SIM card. When I do this, the battery comes out and it loses time/date.
I'd be curious on the details as well because I've never heard anyone that actually had it functioning!

I tested this tweak and it seems to work when I initiate flight mode and then turn flight mode off (which will be great when I land on the plane...the time will adjust automatically).
Will this update periodically check the time to ensure it's sync'd or will this only work when the phone initially communicates with the network?
acording to microsoft list of bugs in all from aku1 to aku3 this feature never worked and they never fixed it..... since crossbow has several parts of old aku roms my guess is it does not work either..... this feature is also carrier dependent if you manage to make it work.

My carrier supports it. My Wizard never did with the ROM hack or with Crossbow. So if it worked, I'd love to find out how! This at least makes me feel good that I'm not missing out on something...

upon doing some more reading aparently some aku3 roms now support it!!!
but in a diferent way. here it is;
Receiving Network Identity and Time Zone(NITZ) information is currently unsupported.
This feature was incorrectly documented to be supported by Windows Mobile Version 5.0 AKU3.0 in Windows Mobile Version 5.0 Documentation Release. NITZ is currently supported at Radio Interface Layer(RIL) only.

OK, so apparently this functionality is in fairly high demand...and since we're talking about WWAN devices, hasn't someone written an app that will periodically ping a time server (like PC OS's) and update the time on the device?
I am NOT a developer, so maybe I'm missing something obvious here. But it doesn't seem like a complicated concept for sure.
registry wizard does this
the xda-developers registry wizard allows you to make the registry tweak "show time zone s page" in both WM5 and WM6,- this put the time zone tab in phone-options, but the feature never worked for me. I called my provider to confirm if they supported it but the help desk was clueless- Would love to see if anyone got this working.
Confirmed working on my 8125 through the Cingular network. Before the hack I had to initiate a physical active sync through USB or manually change the time. Now if I go and change the time to say an hour ahead within 5 -10 seconds the time reverts back automatically.

Here is a quote and a link to a program I found on the Cingular/HTC forum:
"How hard would it be to go to the clock settings and select the "visiting" button and select the time zone you are in?
Works for me.
There are options for atomic clock server time sync. But that won't address time zone issues.
http://zdnetasia.com/downloads/handheld/swinfo/0,39043246,39175141s,00.htm
"
I don't go out of my own time zone, so I don't really have any issues with it. The registy hack has worked just fine on my 8125.
has anyone experienced this? about a week ago my reminder alarms stopped working..i use them everyday and its quite frusturating. have checked the music file it links to, ive unchecked and rechecked the settings, cant figure it out. havent installed any new programs lately either. the alarm in the time settings works still but i cant get it to find the same mp3 file that the calendar could use?
any ideas?
thanks guys
Fix for 8125 and TILT, may also work on HERMES
This is one of the most frustrating things about Windows Mobile. I had the same problem with my 8125, and it just started on my 2 mo. old Tilt. Even though you have a Hermes, this solution may work because it is a WINDOWS MOBILE problem.
I've done major amounts of research on this subject and many people will tell you you need Memmaid (have it), or SKTools to fix this. Neither worked for me on either phone (except Memmaid is great, you should get it). There are also many other tweaker tricks as well, none of which worked for me. Some even suggest a HARD RESET. Don't do it, it isn't needed.
Here's what worked for me.
On the 8125: pull the battery out while powered on. Put the battery back in, and reset the clock. (the battery trick didn't work on the TILT)
On the Tilt: change the clock to visiting time, and accept changes. Change the clock back to home time and accept changes.
After looking at these solutions I think the clock fix would have done the same thing on my 8125.
I can't take credit for either discovery, however, I can't remember where I read them.
I hope this works for you and the others that experience this most frustrating issue.
Calendar reminders not working on HTC Tytn II (Tilt) + WM6.1
Hi,
I had recently updated my HTC Tytn II (Kaiser/Tilt) from Windows Mobile 6 to Windows Mobile 6.1.
It took me a little while to notice that my calendar reminders were not working. My "Task" reminders were working fine.
I did the suggested fix - which was to change the timezone to "Visiting" and back to "Home" - and now I have my calendar reminders working again. Thanks for the suggestion hksuper!
Prembo.
It works on Polaris too. Thanks you guys so much
Thanks
Thanks hksuper .... I just chaged the clock from home to visiting and then back to home and it worked ,,,, Thanks for sharing this info.
Hi,
I'm glad others are finding this tidbit of info useful.
What bothers me is that the solution is only temporary. It seems like it only lasts for a day and then you have to do the time change trick, which you forget to do. I would set a reminder to remind me to change the time zone, but it wouldn't go off to remind me.
I guess my solution is only a half a solution until someone figures out how to make reminders work permanently on Windows Mobile.
IN other news....I have an iPod Touch, sync'd to my Exchange Server, and it NEVER FAILS TO DING WHEN I HAVE A REMINDER SET. Unfortunately, the reminders don't have as many nice options (like snooze, which I find invaluable). So Apple at least gets points for making it work right. Got that MS?
Cheers!
As an interim solution for you hksuper, why don't you set the reminders on your iPod Touch to tell you when you need to reset the clock....
Seriously though I hope we can come up with a solution to an annoying problem... Come on MS, apples ahead of the game, time for you to get there too....
That is a really good thing to know.
Today I experienced the same problem on my Touch Pro 2, with Windows Mobile 6.5. After doing the clock trick, it is working again.
Hope I don't have to do this daily or else I just throw out this f*cking expensive device
I had this issue in Win 5 when I got my m3100.
I have never had the problem in 6.0 pro though and I use the calendar everyday.
Weird
Solution for calendar reminder problem.
Google "The poorhouse pmClean cab." Download the pmClean cab, perform a clean, and do a soft reset. I'm currently on the NRG Phoenix 2 6.5 ROM on my HTC Fuze and it worked remarkably well.

a BIG Thank you, after 4 years, the same fault is still happening.
my device is HTC Touch HD.
Works on XPERIA X1. Thanks.
The fix also works on my HTC HD2 T9193.
I had this problem a long time ago on win mo 5.0. I'm surprised to see the same problem is still with us.
I have a problem with the clock since the hours changed to summer time.
I try'd 3 diferent Roms now and all have the same problem, the clock delays 1 hour allways.
I set the correct time and sometime later or after a softreset the time delays 1 hour.
Another thing is that I can't mantain my correct time zone (London) that has the correct time for me. It allways changes to (Casablanca) that is 1 hour earlyer.
Please help.
i'm in the UK and i didn't do a thing on the phone when the summer time changed. It changed the time automatically. Running Leo v3 rom, btw
Am in uk aswell. Time changed automatically didnt have to do anything. Using the EnergyROM with Radio: 2.08.50.08_2.
Sorry not got any ideas, hope some1 can help you..
Just don't make any Portuguese City in the world clock your default city. Use "My Location" instead. That's what i do.
This ain't an UK problem it's Portuguese problem, the time zone / weather database file (WWE and other then the PT rom version) of Manila is wrong concerning the portuguese Time Zone, i forgot about the file name but you have to edit it with sqlite.
This just heppens with new Roms, since when the time changed my Rom changed well and automatic, but with new roms a have this problem.

I'm having the same problem. I'm in Porto and the "My location" sugestion doesn't fix the problem. HD2 always get 1 hour earlier. I could set my location to London but all the geographical integration is lost. For me the ROM is the default one that vodafone delivered (last htc pt stock rom).
Does anyone know what file should be edited to correct the problem as sugested above?
Thanks for your help
Try:
Start > Setting > Menu: All settings > Personal > Phone > GSM/UMTS > Time Synchronization > Get Settings > Tick: Automatic Change time zone and clock.
I had the above problem and this fixed it.

Thanks, I think that will solve the problem
I've unticked both settings refering time sync (GSM/UMTS and internet time sync) as suggested above and that doesn't fix the problem when syncing with PC using mobile device center v6.1
It's beggining to be of major concern for me as I need frequently to check the time in different countries for professional reasons and even if I don't sync with PC and I force the clock to the right time, some of the other cities would be wrong (not all with +1h).
HTC should fix this bug.
jpl69 can you please tell me more about the file that should contain the "world time table"?
me too
I'm in Portugal too and last Monday I lost a €12000 contract due to being 1 hour late for the appointment. I had this problem last year too and haven't yet found a solution. I'm quite sickened by it. The Microsoft "patch" doesn't work either. I'm sure these settings must be in the registry somewhere?
problem solved with Weather City Editor
I´m in Portugal too.
I think the bug is on Manila 2.1 and 2.5, the time zone for Portugal is incorrectly Casablanca when it should be London.
Corrected it with Weather City Editor that ca be found here at xda.
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=546141
It took me 2 minutes to fix all the 16 cities (Ponta Delgada was the only one already correct) and after a while even "My location" comes ok.
Hope this helps.
