Does anybody know of an app to add the 'New' Menu functionality to WM05.
In 2003 and 2003SE you could tap on the word 'New' in the bottom left of the today screen and a menu would appear allowing you to select a new appointment, task etc.
Or if not a way of using the standard voice control app included with the O2 exec to start a new appointment/task in Pocket Informant.
I have tried selecting new appointment/Task from the list of apps and functions in the voice control screen but this only starts Pocket Informant in the relevent view but does not create a new appointment/task to start entering info into.

i do... but i don't know how to get it back i'm afraid... unfortunately it seems no one else misses it... i posted something like this a while ago, which raised no responses
You can do it with a WisbarAdvance plugin: WisbarDesktop.
You can assign a button (like a shortcut on the desktop) to do that.
Or Spb Pocket Plus.
After you installed it, there is a folder in the startmenu/programs where you can find a lot of shortcuts like [newcontact], [newappointment]...
After this you just need one launcher program.
Tried Spb Pocket Plus.
This just does the same as voice controller when selecting new appointment or task it starts Pocket Informant on the relevent view but does not actually open a new appointment or task.
So it looks like this might be an issue with Pocket Informant.

Guys, I've posted here about how to create new PIM items, eg on a softkey (and using my VJPhoneTools for new sms/email etc).
I'll have a much better solution at some point in the future too
Use smallmenu and you can have a startmenu > subfolder to do this quite easily.

Installation

- Uninstall older version
- Extract ZIP in any folder and start iFonz.exe
How to
=============================
- If during the slide from a page to another page you look a red/pink color in the names of icons go to Windows Mobile Settings -> Screen -> ClearType and disable it
- If you use ILauncher or other launcher program consider to uninstall it for best use of iFonz
- If you wnat enter directly on the General Settings click on the link in Programs Folder "iFonz Settings"
- To open General Settings Tap and Hold on background
- To open Icon Settings Tap and Hold on desired icon
- To enable/disable Windows Startup open General Settings and check/uncheck the option
- To save/load Themes and settings Tap and Hold on Battery and click on Themes->Load/Save and choose the file
- To minimize Tap and Hold on Battery in the main screen and click on minimize
- To view all Pocket PC status info Tap and Hold on Battery in the main screen and go to Status menu
- To view AM/PM hour go to Regional Settings in your pocket pc and set correctly your Timezone and Time settings
- To exit click on battery in the main screen
- To add shortcut to a folder in the command line use "\windows\fexplore.exe" and in the argument set the folder path
- To add shortcut to a midlet java in the command line use "[the path of your java manager]" and in the argument set the parameter of your java application (Es: Command: "\windows\jmm.exe" Arguments:"-r"Gmail","Google","Gmail")
- To add shortcut to an internet address write in command line the internet address
- To Copy/Swap an icon tap and hold on 1 icon and choose Copy/Swap and after tap and hold another icon and choose Paste here/Swap here
- If iFonz close when hit the "Red Button" after a call, assign a specific button of your PPC for restart it, set it in PPC settings
- If your Pocket PC is old or slow go to General Settings and disable all Special Effects and set Animation to "Nothing"
- If you do a lot of changes in General Settings and iFonz become slow, restart it
- To go in debug mode create a file "Debuco" in the iFonz directory and use the program. In the folder i create a new text file called Logfile.txt with all operations and errors
- For lock device and show a big image of caller whe you receive a call use S2U2 program (The best ever from A_C)

Works great on LG-KS20, animation speed has highly improved and settings of 1.0.4 are taken over. File browser is pretty cool.

of i meant to ask before but i forgot.. is there a way to save my theme so i can load it up when i please?i know to click and hold on the battery and then goto themes , save. but what is the file extension

Excuse me for being new at this, but when I click the weather tab from my HTC Diamond it doesnt give me any weather information, do I need to download some kind of other weather application, and if so, what do you recommend?

thanx for another great update...just noticed how the bottom row of icons are pushed further down the screen covering their reflections and no longer push the icons to the corners when opening programs

Hey that confused me too... So I just clicked the .exe file on the phone device, and ifonz launched as usual.
But still, that would be a major change in installation procedure. hopefully ssj5trunks will explain.

Cool, so there;s no more isntallation, eh? Just put the files in the folder and the magic application runs like a gem.
Spanish Translation BETA (recently cooked ):
My LG KS20 is running on iFonz 1.1.2 now. Whoa....... WOW!!! YAY!!!!
1) It runs at least 50% faster than the older one
2) Graphical sharpness is like 50% better (very clear!!!!)
3) The 'setting' display is sooooooooo sharp and nice now.
Brings me lotsa smiles!!!
By the way, I did not uninstalled the 1.0.4. I copied and overwritten the folders in 1.0.4 and the "iFonz" program in "Remove Programs" dissapear when I run it for the first time. Is it okay?
(reason for not deleting because worry newer version will not run, like S2U2 1.3 vs 1.22, my KS20 can't run v1.3)

I hv problem running the new S2U2 v1.30. When I wake up my KS20, my S2U2 keeps hanging. I have reverted back to v1.22 which is much more stable.
One question 4 Diamond users: Is only me or anyone more have iFonz too slow changing froms pages?
All animatyions are too slow (tf3d disabled)
It might be because you have a cooked rom.
There is a little load time when launching an app but except for that it's all good.
I have turned off the fading effects though in Ifonz settings.
It might help.
I want to try the Omnia D3d drivers as well to see if it makes any difference.

If you ever used the "Close Button" plug-in from Spb Mobile Plus you prolly know what I mean...
The HTC Taskmanager looks all nice, I like it, but its only accessible on the Today Screen. Is there a way to make it accessible even when you're not on the today screen?
Sometimes when you're doing stuff you want to "alt-tab" to another program and this is an easy way to do it, or when you want to close another/all other programs.
I hope there's a solution because it really is an improvement to the taskmanager.

sorry, no help here. I can only say "me too". I was actually just thinking about this today. I've had this phone for a few months, and it just today occurred to mr today that you can't close other open programs without going back to the today screen, only option is to "x" button back to today screen or hope that what you seek to close is in your start menu under 'recent items'.

There is a shortcut in the Settings folder in the Systems tab. However, I expect you don't want to go through all of that when you want to use it. As an alternative, you could use file explorer and go into the Windows folder, find the Task Manager program in there, copy it and past a shortcut in the Windows/Start Menu folder. Then it would be on your Start Menu. You would need to remove one other item if you were then over the allowed maximum number of items in there.
Is that accessible enough?
I'd rather not put it in my start menu cus there are other "important" shortcuts in there...
I'd rather have it in the upper right corner...

I tried it and I like it, Is there a way to make a backup of my settings?
It seems the program doesnt work as i wished it would. I worked with it for a while and I like the concept alot, but there's a major flaw. Sometimes when I make adjustments to, lets say, my alarm settings (winmo clock/alarms setings), and when I press [ok] the window minimizes (I set the one click to minimize), there's no way you can apply the changes because it will keep on running on the background. If I choose to close it then the changes wont apply. This occurs to many other programs I use in simular occasions when you need to press [ok] to apply settings.
I would still have a solution to the HTC taskbar though. I think I would prefer it over the WkTask taskmanager.

I am new to the Android community (got the HTC Magic - Vodafone yesterday) and I love it! Just wondering if the ability to create submenus in the main menu screen comes standard?
Example: I would like to group applications together under a folder rather than just having all the applications in alphabetical order in the main menu screen. (eg all GPS apps would be in a sub menu called GPS, all games would be in sub menu called Games etc)

I don't think you can change the main menu.... you can however create folders on your homescreen and drag-and-drop your apps in there...

I Installed Resco File explorer and when trying to add registry add in it tried to install a theme file (.tsk) which opened the today management screen (where you can select different themes and select whats on the desktop.
Click the desktop tab (whats displayed on homescreen) and deselect HTC Sense then just tick what you want. At the top is the default windows mobile 6.5 homescreen plugin then all the program addons follow like co-pilot, mail, calendar etc then htc sense. Just choose your flavor..
I'm working at the moment but I'll try and elaborate more later, need to find a screenshot app first for pics.
Put any .tsk file on phone and run from explorer (Resco or otherwise) and the theme screen will show, select your pref (note you can not have HTC SENSE, Windows 6.5 Plugin enabled together, but plugins like calendar etc can without the aforementioned.
Hope this helps someone. (All HTC themed menu's n progs get disabled on deselecting HTC Sense but return on reselecting).
