How to add 'New' Menu Functionality in WM05? - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

Hi
Does anybody know of an app to add the 'New' Menu functionality to WM05.
In 2003 and 2003SE you could tap on the word 'New' in the bottom left of the today screen and a menu would appear allowing you to select a new appointment, task etc.
Or if not a way of using the standard voice control app included with the O2 exec to start a new appointment/task in Pocket Informant.
I have tried selecting new appointment/Task from the list of apps and functions in the voice control screen but this only starts Pocket Informant in the relevent view but does not create a new appointment/task to start entering info into.
TIA.

Anybody !!
Somebody else must miss the functionality?

i do... but i don't know how to get it back i'm afraid... unfortunately it seems no one else misses it... i posted something like this a while ago, which raised no responses

You can do it with a WisbarAdvance plugin: WisbarDesktop.
You can assign a button (like a shortcut on the desktop) to do that.

Or Spb Pocket Plus.
After you installed it, there is a folder in the startmenu/programs where you can find a lot of shortcuts like [newcontact], [newappointment]...
After this you just need one launcher program.

Tried Spb Pocket Plus.
This just does the same as voice controller when selecting new appointment or task it starts Pocket Informant on the relevent view but does not actually open a new appointment or task.
So it looks like this might be an issue with Pocket Informant.

Guys, I've posted here about how to create new PIM items, eg on a softkey (and using my VJPhoneTools for new sms/email etc).
I'll have a much better solution at some point in the future too
Use smallmenu and you can have a startmenu > subfolder to do this quite easily.

Modding the SMS\MMS Screen

Does anyone know how I might be able to change the default lower toolbar buttons in the SMS\MMS screen? At present the options are "Delete" & "Menu" and I want the 'delete' to be replaced with 'New SMS', it seems daft to have a 3 stage process just to send a quick SMS. A new message menu would be an acceptable compromise but I'd prefer a direct link to an SMS since I use those the most by far.
Are there any registry mods that I can implement to do this?
I'm using the official 6.1 WWE rom by the way.
I use a program called WM5 New Menu and used M2DC to make my left soft key launch it from the today screen. Basically it allows me in one press to create new SMS, Appointment, Contact etc. Its quite configurable.
i know what he wants, and that's not it. isn't there some way to change it within the program?

new user pls help and dont be harsh hee

thanks!!!
1) can i remove my operator pic at the top?
2) can i still use today plugin using touchflo? for example calendar plus, spb mobile shell's contact .. or i must unclick touchflo in today? if so, can i still enjoy the weather, stock tabs?
1) i dont know, i dont have operate picture here
2) i dont use touchflo.
What you can do is unclick touchflo.
Install
1.Spb Diary
2.Spb Traveler can be embed into Spb Diary Interface.
3.For stock, have a look at this. Then Create a shortcut on the Today screen.
Hi,
1. I don't Know
2. You can use SecondToday and assign a key in manila to a second today page where you can put any today plug in (Pocket breeze in my case)
I'm not sure what "pic" you're talking about, but if it's just the text of your carrier in the top right like "T-Mobile" than yes, you should be able to remove/change that though I don't remember how, however I'm sure it's in the forum.

[REQ] HTC Taskmanager improvement

Hi There,
If you ever used the "Close Button" plug-in from Spb Mobile Plus you prolly know what I mean...
The HTC Taskmanager looks all nice, I like it, but its only accessible on the Today Screen. Is there a way to make it accessible even when you're not on the today screen?
Sometimes when you're doing stuff you want to "alt-tab" to another program and this is an easy way to do it, or when you want to close another/all other programs.
I hope there's a solution because it really is an improvement to the taskmanager.
me too
sorry, no help here. I can only say "me too". I was actually just thinking about this today. I've had this phone for a few months, and it just today occurred to mr today that you can't close other open programs without going back to the today screen, only option is to "x" button back to today screen or hope that what you seek to close is in your start menu under 'recent items'.
any help or development would be super appreciated, thanks all.
There is a shortcut in the Settings folder in the Systems tab. However, I expect you don't want to go through all of that when you want to use it. As an alternative, you could use file explorer and go into the Windows folder, find the Task Manager program in there, copy it and past a shortcut in the Windows/Start Menu folder. Then it would be on your Start Menu. You would need to remove one other item if you were then over the allowed maximum number of items in there.
Is that accessible enough?
I'd rather not put it in my start menu cus there are other "important" shortcuts in there...
I'd rather have it in the upper right corner...
You could use WkTask
the best free taskmanager there is (not working on wm6.5)

Click to collapse
I tried it and I like it, Is there a way to make a backup of my settings?
It seems the program doesnt work as i wished it would. I worked with it for a while and I like the concept alot, but there's a major flaw. Sometimes when I make adjustments to, lets say, my alarm settings (winmo clock/alarms setings), and when I press [ok] the window minimizes (I set the one click to minimize), there's no way you can apply the changes because it will keep on running on the background. If I choose to close it then the changes wont apply. This occurs to many other programs I use in simular occasions when you need to press [ok] to apply settings.
I would still have a solution to the HTC taskbar though. I think I would prefer it over the WkTask taskmanager.

Cool Pocket Informant shortcuts

Recently I installed dot Fred's TaskSwitcher and assigned it to my left softkey. After running it for a few days I decided I didn't need it and uninstalled it. I was surprised to see that it didn't revert the Registry values back to what they were before the install. After going in to the Registry to restore the original values I found that when done the softkey would bring up the Outlook Calendar instead of Pocket Informant's. So I started tinkering and discovered something cool about Pocket Informant.
Seems you can create shortcuts to your custom Views and save them as links in the filesystem. And those shortcuts can be assigned to the softkeys. So now I have my left softkey assigned to my custom weekly view and the right key to PI's Contacts. Now, instead of having to go into PI and choose a view other than the one it starts with I can use the softkeys to open my most frequently used ones.

[Q] Simple SPB Pocket Plus alternative?

Hi!
I'm looking for a application that would add program shortcuts to the WM 6.1 home screen. Just 6-10 shortcuts, no tabs needed. Something like HTC Home (not available for my Acer M900) or SPB Pocket Plus (annoying tabs, too many unneeded features).
I tested a few programs like this, but they made too many changes to the start menu.
And it would be cool, it that or another application would allow to quickly change phone profiles (normal/vibrate/silent) either by a programmable button or better by shortcuts on the home screen. in this regard SPB Pocket Plus does not work on my M900.
Please recommend, thanks.
