Have you tried registry
Hkey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Terminal server Client\BitmapPersistCacheLocation
The string is set to "\Temp", you can try to change it to your storage card to see if this works.
I tested. It works on my Athena.

Hi all,
I have a folder called Network and my camera wants only save pics and video on My principal memory or in that folder called Network but not in my storage card...
What is that folder called Network ?
I can't manage to delete it... so how can i manage to save pics ans videos to my storage card ?
I need help, please.
Re up, i need help please.
this is because you have installed a lan client such as PocketLAN, for mounting network shares in a way they appear as local folders.
I have the same issue. If I want to use external storage to store pictures, I have to open PocketLAN and select the 'disable network folder' option. then reanable it after.
If anyone can find a way to rename the Network folder in the registry to something higher up the alphabet than "Storage Card", that may allow it to be enabled and still allow the camera app to use it, or modify the camera app so it allows more than 2 choices..

Another way ?
Hi and thank all for your help
I finnaly decided to do a hard reset and... there's no folder called "network" now.
So this tread may be close.
I copy pics from my storage card to my PC desktop – and they look like they transfer – dialogue box saying “converting to PC format” but then there’s nothing - no file transferred. I can see the pics on the Wiz but not when I view then as thumbnails in explorer. I’ve transferred files, but something’s changed now.
Stock Cingular 8125 2G SD to Windows XP se, 3.2 Ghz, 2G ram, 500G HD - running Mozilla, Avast, and Jetcio FW.

Hi,
I would like to put the sync.ico file back onto my Ameo that is currently running AP3.0 (love it...). Since the ROM was build with the X7500 sync.ico file, this is what shows up on my Mobile Device Center... (ie black case vs. the silver Ameo one)
Does anyone have the Ameo with a T-Mobile ROM and can send me the sync.ico file that resides in the devices Windows directory??? I'd hate to reflash the decive back and forth just for that icon
Thanks!!!
Wow... is there really NO ONE with the T-Mobile ROM anymore - or are you all just mesmorized by the AP4 thread?
It wont change anyway - once it has sync'd with that icon it wont change back even if you put the sync.ico from an Ameo on the machine! I've tried!
Really? I thought one just had to remove the connection on the PC and re-establish (after copying the .ico file into the Windows directory on the Ameo). Apparently this is where the Mobile Device Manager gets the picture from the first time a connection to a 'new' device is done...
might be wrong though as I haven't tried it myself...
ooh - might work... you'd need resco explorer i think to change the ico file on the Ameo and i know file manager moans about it.

SDHC driver, and USB MASS Storage application!
Nonsense.... for SDHC it can't be a generic application, it should be device-specific, and for a mass storage just get an old and good WM5torage. Easy.

Here is the driver.
As for Mass Storage application, I've never heard HTC having this app (besides the built in app from Diamond, which allows to choose sync mode or mass storage device for the internal memory - by the way, cannot be ported to any other device yet). I can recommend you WM5torage, as utak3r said, which you can grab here.

You are wrong. The SDHC driver is a generic driver (which is by now probably built in every cooked ROM and official WM6.x ROM) and resides in \Windows folder, being called sdhc_sc2410.dll
As fof the one I attached, it enables the use of this driver. Benchmark results after applying this patch are more than 500%-1.000% speed gain!
I use Card export II. Works great and its a good investment and there tech support line is awesome. By the way wm 6.1 compatible.

I have tried many SDHC drivers for Himalaya Devices..but all it does is create more problems by Removing the Storage Card Driver...

WM5torage locks your SD Card while using it. Deactivate WM5torage and you'll be fine.

i don't know about 2.0 but this will def work or at least it works on athena.
1st. you need mort script if you want you device to stay alive while transferring large files or you need to keep taping the screen every few minutes. also the program is installed to \windows its called USBtoPC.exe but the icons and the scripts are installed to \My Documents
you can use this with out mort script just create a shortcut "\Windows\USBtoPC.exe" and it will work but you will have to keep it alive. also you will see a microdrive and microsd thats because i have an athena and it has two drives so if you click on one of the scripts and plug it in if it does not work unplug wait about a minute or two and click on the other script then plug it in.

Hi!
I just found out that the Diamond can be connected to a PC in a "disk drive" mode - instead of "Active Sync" to facilitate (big) file transfer.
Is there a chance to get the Polaris to connect via this route?
thank!

I tried version 3.13 and it supports MicroSDHC 4gb
http://www.softick.com/pocket-pc/cardexport2/
But it is trail version, you can use it 21 days
But this Softic card export is really slow (900 k/s). You need about 1/2 hour to transfer one divx movie (700 MB). In my opinion this software is useless.

You can propose anything alse?
I also used Card Export and it nice for me. Small, fast. More faster than ActiveSync transfer.
I am looking for something that allows faster transfers between PC and the Polaris (mostly from PC to Polaris) too. Tried normal activesync, card export, wifi connection to the lan and copying from a windows share. None of those getting any close to the speed of a simple card reader. The only problem with a card reader is having to get the card out :-(
It seems that the limiting factor here is the Polaris card access speed. Any chances to somehow improve this ?
interesting how it work on diamond possible to port ?
The Polaris is only USB 1.1 ("Full-Speed" - 12 Mbit/s), while most card readers nowadays are USB 2.0 ("Hi-Speed" - 480 Mbit/s).
Unfortunately, this is a hardware limitation and has nothing to do with the software or ROM you are using.

Polaris is USB 2.0 according to HTC.
http://www.htc.com/uploadedFiles/Common/Product_Documents/UK/HTC_Touch_Cruise_CH_EN.pdf
FTP
When I'm to copy large files to the PDA I use a free FTP server on the Polaris and copy the files when connected to WiFi.
It's not as fast as taking the card out and inserting into the PC, but it's very easy and convenient. Using a good FTP client like FileZilla I can que up files and transfer them with a simple click.
Free PocketPC FTP Server: http://www.mochasoft.dk/freeware/ftpd.htm
From my tests, the polaris can write and read up to 2MB per sec(internaly) and up to 900 KB using card export.
My card reader reads and writes on my microsd up to 8MB/s.
In this case, it's better to remove the card and place it into a cardreader.
LE: over wifi the speed is much slower about 300 KB using a ftp server
USB 2.0 Full Speed
As tenticle56 wrote above, the Polaris is a Full Speed device opposed to the Diamond which is Hi Speed, while both of them are USB 2.0.
Please compare here
http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=pdacomparer&id1=1311&id2=1307&id3=1306
This is often misunderstood in IMO purposely misleading selling point.
However if there was no HiSpeed for a device without memory card slot, who would buy it?
Unfortuantely hardware never supported HiSpeed yet for devices with memory extension so we need to wait on the Raphael.
Upshot: If you need high data rates there is no way around a card reader and be sure to use a high speed card, too. Vendors here also often 'cheat' customers by only advertising the card's max reading speed, while for transfer usually the writing speed (often a multiple below max read speed) is the critical value.
