HELP!! Constant "CLICKING" when joystick or arrow button is pushed - Advantage X7500, MDA Ameo General

HI! I HAVE A VERY BIG PROBLEM!! Do you have any idea what this could be?!?
Suddenly, this started; when I push the joystick on the phone or arrow buttons on the KB, the phone just starts clicking.... continuously, like I would constantly push the joystick or arrow. I get stuck in word, task, calendar or any other application I am currently using and need to do soft or hard reset. Even after soft or hard reset the issue is NOT solved. It seems that other buttons or screen does not cause this.
In addition: I am able to turn off screen and the clicking stops. When I turn on the screen the clicking resumes/continues.

Wizard Soft Keys randomly non functioning.

Hi, just curious to know if anyone has experienced their soft key just randomly stop functioning until a soft reset is performed? The soft keys from the today screen that open up Calendar and Contacts would just stop working all of a sudden usually when the phone is wakened back up from standby(pressing power quickly not turning it completely off). I would appreciate all feedbacks/assistance/solutions.

Keith
sometimes my soft keys won't work using the buttons but work with screen tap. i think its after running some application i have but not narrowed it down to which one yet. May be PTvncHI (terminal client viewer)
Hi
Yes I have this problem.
Its ONLY on the today screen.
My buttons do not respond to a screen tap or the buttons themselves.
I only noticed this problem after installing VITO Button mapper.
I have since disaled this app and will remove it totally when the rom upgrade comes out but I don't want to do a hard reset just yet.
Robin
I have noticed this happen after I run TCPMP, once I soft reset and before I run TCPMP again, the soft buttons work just fine.
If you've mapped some hotkeys in TCPMP, they might not work in other applications...
I wish TCPMP would fix this !!!
Thanks for everyone's input, I did map the soft keys in TCPMP....so I unmapped the soft key buttons(TCPMP) and so far so good.

Keith

Bug on TyTN. Bottom soft buttons don't respond

Hi. Every time a reminder pop up, the 2 bottom hard buttons that correspond to the soft button don't work. if i press on the display, the fuction works, if i press the hard one, don't work... gettin' crazy

Soft buttons on my wizard are not working / mixed up / display letters

Recently I am having problems with my phone, and am wondering if it is a software or hardware problem.
I have tried loading the TNT4 rom & WS5SE roms (this is a g4), and there is no change (im on the Tnt4 one now).
The touchscreen works okay, but the soft key buttons do not. The right bottom one is okay, the left one triggers the right one, the send button show the letters "uytga" on the phone screen when i press them, the end button shows "mn" or something, the camera button works perfect, the comm manager button is the same as the voice button (even when i map it with a program it says "button 4").
It even happens on the soft keys on the keyboard when i slide it out.
Also I used Start-sSPL to put the roms on. Is there a way I can get the OEM one back on or fix the button problem?
Any help will be appreciated.

tmobile wing scrolling down

so ive had this problem before and i miraculously fixed it some how,
so ive done a little googling and seen that im not the only one with this problem, while the phones in portrait, returning from standby the down button seems to be pressed as it scrolls through the today screen insanely, but as soon as i press the up button it stops the scrolling. although the down button it self on the front doesnt work.
now in landscape mode with the keyboard, what would be the down button in portrait is scrolling to the left continuously until i press what would be the up button in portrait but is the right key on the directional pad.
i guess this is a important key factor here...the up, down, left, right arrows are working just fine on the keyboard
its not so annoying that i have to press the up button once to stop the scrolling, i mean i can live without the down button for now til i get a different phone, but as soon as i hit the power button to put the phone into stand by this "scrolling" restarts, so as soon as i hit the power button phone starts scrolling, and it takes, many many attempts for the phone to go into stand by due to this annoying glitch, im not sure if its a registry problem as to i cant find the down button in the registry
i cant seem to fix it like i have previously, i fixed it twice previously, some how.....
if anyone has solved the problem to the wing scrolling down problem, help me out here...

Soft Keys weird behavior

My soft keys are acting weird. sometimes when i press the home button right after a boot, it captures screen, meaning the 'menu' soft key is depressed. However, after that the softkeys don't respond anymore.
Also, sometimes while powering on, the Galaxy boots up in 'safe mode', meaning again that the 'menu' button is depressed (the way to enter safe mode is by pressing the menu button with the power button).
I have checked the key map in the clockwork recovery which show the 'menu' & 'back' key responding only once before going dead.
During general operation, the softkeys don't work at all and i'm left with only the home button.
Since the keys respond once, i'm sure they're not broken. Seems like a software error. I have tried different kernels & 3 diff roms, but the situation is the same.
Any help to ascertain / solve the problem will be appreciated
Similar issue
I had a similar issue on a brand new phone, the soft keys would detect my finger from about 1cm away, so holding the phone and moving you grip would cause them to activate, eventually they would lock up until you locked the screen and tried again. It was totally a hardware issue, I replaced the phone used the same ROM and no issues.
the reason i'm convinced its not a hardware fault is that the keys 'blink' when i touch them which means they are registering touch. its got to be something else.
the Galaxy has got to be the most mysterious device ever!
Sounds like you ought to send it in for a replacement.
You can try a touchkey firmware update.
Make sure you're on your device's stock ROM otherwise you'll lose your touchkeys.
ENTER *#*#2663#*#* in the dialer. Then update the touchkey firmware and reboot.
You should be able to return to your other ROM after this.
