When I pair my 8125 with my bluetooth headset for the 1st tiem, it pops up a window asking if I wish to pair them.
I say yes, enter the PW and off I go.
My question after this initial interaction is:
How can I tell what devices are ACTIVELY paired after the initial use of the device.
The reason I ask this is when I pair my headset for the 1st time, it works 100%. If I turn my headset off, then on again, it never works. I have to delete the device from my 8125 and re-pair it again.
Is there a wonderful 'active devices' screen I don't know about and how do I get my headset to pair up time and again, unlike the current state of 'pair, delete, pair, etc..'
Thanks a bunch,
Lowkee
PS- As an additional bonus for looking at my question, here is a set of startup screens I made for those of you who have Wizards
I call it "The speedometer" .. for obvious reasons. Enjoy!

Hello,
does anyone here drive a recent BMW that has the Bluetooth phone interface (essentially a bluetooth headset built into the car)? If yes, are you able to use it with an XDA-II?
I can't seem to bond the device with the car - the phone thinks it's done it, but the car just shows "BLUETOOTH PAIRING" and when I try to place a call the phone asks for the passkey and goes through what seems like a successful pairing process - but it does not actually work. The "BMW ULF wants to bond, enter passkey" message keeps appearing and appearing after every seemingly successful bonding attempt.
Anyone?

with the kind of money you paid for that car, the salesman should come over and do the pairing for you.
I remember reading somthing on this subjet on the forum.

Thanks guys! I guess I'm out of luck then.
I tried to use a spare Nokia 6600 I had lying around and I got a bit further, but it's still unusable. The Nokia bonds perfectly, I can call with the car's interface, incoming calls ring in the car's speakers - but whenever the call is answered only the phone's speakers and mic work...
Apparently not only does the XDA-II not support the handsfree profile (if you think about it, why should it? it would be a surprise if ANYTHING BT-related worked on it) but the Nokia 6600 is screwed up too.
I guess I'll have to get a Nokia 6310. That's one of the the recommended phones by BMW:

I just thought that since I had a "universal phone kit" in the car it was supposed to work with any recent BT phone. Universal? That list above is shockingly short.
Have you installed the latest version of bluetooth tools?
Well, Bluetooth tools actually made things worse. It still wouldn't bond correctly with the car, but after that it kept connecting and re-connecting to my PC every few seconds, even when BT was off! (It seemed to turn itself on automatically after a few minutes.) The TDK systray notification was driving me crazy. Getting rid of BT Tools solved this partucular problem.
How is the new MDA-II ROM (1.72) in regards to Bluetooth? I hear that some bonding problems have been solved - is the handsfree profile supported yet? I'm tempted to upgrade but given that it's just a beta and it's hard to go back if I end up disliking it is discouraging.
Well I feel like an idiot for asking this. I just got a bluetooth headset. Set my phone to discover and turned on the headset. My phone finds it - ask for a passkey. I just click next without entering one. It then shows up in my list. I close it the bluetooth screen and BAM my phone makes a little sound and says "Motorola Headset wants to connect via bluetooth" I accept and then it ask for a passkey - I cant skip over it at all Ihave to enter one. I type in 123 and then it takes me to the bluetooth list and I have no devices listed.
What am i doing wrong!?!?!
We are all idiots at some stage - most bluetooth headsets use 0000 as the passkey - thats zero. It should work then - does for me
ahhh that would explain a lot. Going to give it a shot when i get home.
Thanks again for your help!
I paired my bleutooth headset several times now. It connects allright but everytime I have to give the headset password . I thought pairing was needed only one time.
I hope somebody has an answer for me .
Hmm, perhaps an obvious question but how do you pair your device? What steps are you taking?
I had this problem once, every time I came into range of my carkit there was the bluetooth message a device was trying to pair and I had to give the password.
However once I removed the pair and did it again it worked properly...
Hello Raptor, thats exactly what happens.
I pair the first time the headset and the s200 by holding a button and then de s200 asks for the key, i klick finish and it works fine.
But nex time I want to use the headset whe recognizes the headset but asks for the key again.
Hmm.. that's kinda weird. Dunno if you can "reset" the headset in any way?
With my carkit the problem was (I think/guess) that the carkit remembered the pair with my s200, but since I upgraded the rom the s200 didn't know the carkit anymore. But since I used the same name etc on my s200 something might have gone wrong.
It could be however that when you try to pair with your headset and you have to enter the password a popup comes up saying a device is trying to pair with your s200. You have to ignore that popup and just pair from the bluetooth settings of the s200 (from where you started, not the popup).
At least that's what happened on the carkit lol Never had a problem with my headset though :/
So I did a reset on the carkit and removed the pair from the s200, then searched again for a bluetooth device on the s200, paired with password and then it worked properly.
Hello Raptor, I tried your option several times but the situation stays the same. But thx for your input.
Hmm.. does the headset have a password at all? Maybe you can leave the password entry empty? Although I'm afraid it wont.
But otherwise I hope someone else can help you with this :/
I'm speechless, this morning te headset connected without asking for the password.
Beats me, but i'm happy!
Greetings!
Hello,
I have been reading extensively this extremely useful forum to tweak and set up my newly acquired Kaiser but I now face a problem:
I own a Creative CB8100 Stereo headset (without hand-free) and I am trying to have it connect automatically to my Kaiser.
The only way I managed to connect the two together is, in the Bluetooth settings on the Kaiser, by tapping on the headset name (CB8100) and choosing "Set as a stereo headset". This is quite a long procedure and I would like to know if there is a way for this headset to connect automatically once turned on. In the worst case, is there a shortcut I could put on the Today screen to manually connect to my headset?
Thanks,
Bhangraman
Nobody got any idea on how to simplify this process?
A thread in one of the other forums suggests that making your Kaiser discoverable may help. Give it a try.
I am afraid it made no difference
Could you please link me this other thread you are talking about?
Here's the thread.
Thanks a lot
Installing A2DPToggle which provides an on/off button on the home page solved my problem.
I have a set of bluetooth earphones that are capable of both audio and hands-free, but I only want to use them for audio. This is easy, as you just untick the hands-free option when you pair them with the phone.
However, when I turn the earphones on the phone pops up a message saying "the device is trying to connect to use a hands-free headset or car kit with your phone". I then have the option to accept or reject this pairing. This happens every time I turn the earphones on, so it's getting quite annoying (especially since I turned off the hands-free option when I originally paired!)
I simply want to stop this message popping up, so I need to know if there's a way of making the phone automatically reject the request for the earphones to act as a hands-free kit.
I've been all through the bluetooth settings and didn't find anything, but I'll ask the question on here in the hope that someone else has some ideas.
Thanks
Hey john, can't help you on this one m8.
Just needed to comment on how strange it seems you asking the forum questions instead of everyone asking you, and you sorting out our problems.
Good look on your quest
Heh - cheers mate. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Can't really help you but I can tell you what I have seen ...
I have a rocketfish BT headset ....
once it is paired and I authorize the connection, I can shut off either or and it does not ask me for the other, it will connect to the headset if I hit a "media" button on the headset though ...
I wonder if the device you are using is "Asking" to reconnect even though it is already paired ...
just my .02

It only asks me to accept or reject the hands-free connection - the audio connection just connects. I believe it is the earphones that are trying to connect as a headset, so I just need a way to tell the phone to automatically refuse that connection, just like it automatically accepts the audio one.
This is after I've turned off the earphones, and then turned them back on again, like the first time I've used them in a day. It's not during regular use.
Grrrr
I think this may have more to do with your particular headphones than the HD2. Meaning your headphones just don't quite match up with the HD2's wonky bluetooth implementation. I use a cheap bluetooth stereo receiver from DealExtreme. I don't know the model, but it shows up as BCK-08. It can pair as stereo audio or handsfree. I have it set to do both, and I never get a pop up like that. Can you do that, or do you specifically want to disable hands free?
PS. This title was funny. When I saw it on the main HD2 page it said Bluetooth - stop asking... I was sure that it was going to say stop asking how to control other media players, besides Sense, with a bluetooth headset. This still isn't possible right?
