can anybody tell me how can i set the connection
becouse when i connect to my pc through usb it show that tha account is not
set up (on the remote windows srceen)

remote desktop is a protokoll in windows 2k and newer!
you must enable it on you host and it works via network connections ... usb too if you have setup your xp to accept connecten over usb.

You must right click on "My Computer" then Properties then remote desktop tab to make sure that the remote desktop is on.
You also must know your computer name or its IP Address.
All I have to do is when I open the remote desktop on my 818Pro. I just typed in my computer name and it will connect me right away.
I'm not sure if you can use USB through Activesync though. I use wireless at home.

I'm able to sync via Bluetooth. But I have to initiate the connection from my XDA II. Start ActiveSync in XDA II, click "Tools", select "Connect via Bluetooth". Is there a way to initiate the connection from PC ActiveSync?

I don't personally think there is a way to do this unless you take remote control of your pocketpc from the pc. What I have also found is that the Bluetooth is very shaky when anything other than small data transfers are concerned e.g. if you try to surf to a web page with loads of images or you have quite a few pages in AvantGo, the BT connection will be dropped. It is far from ideal...
I have had zero success in synching by bluetooth, all I can do is beam files to the pc via bluetooth, I also cannot browse my xda2 from the bluetooth desktop.

You need to create a virtual serial port using the Bluetooth software on your desktop PC. Then set the Connection Settings on ActiveSync to allow connection from the serial port you just created. If your Bluetooth software has an ActiveSync profile, it will do all this for you automatically. Otherwise, you need to use the Serial Port profile.
You can browse your XDA II through ActiveSync. Just select the Explore command.
how to control the assigned com port
the bluetooth software on the desktop insists on setting the com ports as com10 or higher...I read somewhere that activesync does not recognize com port higher than 9.
I re-installed the drivers several times....and it only allows for com 10...and of course activesync does not recognize that as an available port to connect to!!
any thoughts??

I am using the same software but it always offers com3 or com4 which works fine, if you right click on the bluetooth desktop serial port profile does it not give you an choice under "properties"? I have worked out how to do most things now but I am struggling with my laptop with bt dongle trying to browse the web through sharing, I know the settings are correct but it just wont let me through, I have a full network access running and can access files etc but no internet on laptop. :?

ummm ... your theory seems not that much difficult as you can implement it using Bluetooth networking I guess ..
you can setup bluetooth networking from Pocket PC to Laptop then you can browse what your home PC conatin from your PDA

There is a ref to doing it on MS site via the cradle and usb but then it shoots off in the over the web stuff...
I have tried just now but nothing connects.... But I notice that when I check my desktop (xp) pc under the rempte tab - I only have Remote Assistance.... Could this be it? Perhaps I do not have Remote Desktop installed then ! Eh? I will try to locate my original xp discs and see if I can install !!??

Remote desktop or Terminal services connect only via IP address.
So you can only connect via TCP/IP using WIFI on your XDA.
Bluetooth 1.1 has no IP address setting so it is not possible also.
I tried all methods since last year and WIFI is the only solution or if your XDA has a backpack you can use a CF type NIC for wired connection via crosslink or hub.
Still Wifi is the cheapest and cleanest alternative. You can use Adhoc settings between your PC if you have no WIFI access point.

The project is to debug an application which is located at a phone not accessible to me.
There are (probably) 2 options:
Some how establish a remote debugging session between the 2 PCs so VS can connect to a remote ActiveSync Session, via msvsmon.exe and the stuff found and working in PC remote debugging.
Replacing ActiveSync with a tool that can provide the same services not only over USB or over BT, but over IP as well
Are any of the above options available?
I 'd like a replacement of ActiveSync and I could easily make one if i know how VS expects it to work.

I plan to use a software Remote Disk on a Macbook Air.
Remote Disc lets us wirelessly use or “borrow” the optical drive of a Windows PC in the vicinity.
The Macbook Air have a WIFI IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n compatible.
But my Windows PC do not have a WIFI.
I also would like to know if this is possible. I have a Diamond and would like to use it as a USB WiFi dongle so I can connect my Desktop to my laptop wirelessly. Mainly so I don't have to dig out an Ethernet switch and use cables.

I have a small issue with my remote connectivity to my android, I hope you guys can help with, the scenario is simple and my target is to connect to my android remotely through my laptop while the android is connected to my PC in the other room through USB cable, so what I have done already is that am connecting the Android to the PC through a USB cable and the PC to the Laptop through the LAN, now am connecting Remote desktop from my laptop to the PC and on the PC I installed application that can connect to the android so I can totally see the skin of my android and control it, but the final thing I wish to do is to make a phone call, here I connect a Bluetooth to the PC and I connect the Bluetooth as free handset to the android it didn't totally work,
So guys as you see its interesting scenario and if we work together we can accomplish something really assume

But the thing is that I already got a Bluetooth USB connected to my PC working as a Hands free, so from the PC itself I can do Voice call through the PC speaker and headset but my trouble is that I can’t do this through the Remote laptop that is connected to this PC

the first connection is between the mobile and the Computer 1 which it is a USB connection, and the second one is between Computer 1 and Computer 2 which it is a LAN / WAN connection.

Please note that this software only runs partially (command line, no gui) on Windows. It was written for Linux computers.
