Can anyone tell me if the Charmer digitizer is the same physical hardware as the one on the Magician or the Wizard. Mine needs replacing (scratched) and eBay doesn't seem to list replacements for the Charmer.
Also, has anyone ever replaced one and is it easy to do?

I know, its a bit out of date, but igot the same problem but i repaired my charmer under Guarantee.I guess the answer is yes , but dont really know.I know that they has the same display,but the digitizer...hmmm dont know

My Imate 2020 LCD dont function when I tab it, whether soft reset or soft update, there's no response when touching the screen.
What is the trouble? Can anyone please help me?
You could try a hard reset, if it still doesnt work it is probably hardware problem with digitizer.
I see people advertise new LCD's like this. LCD + touch screen, is there a difference? It is as if my screen top has become stiff. Seem like some liquid marks in screen, dont know how that happened. Can that be cause, then what must I do? Thanks for response.
mine stopped working when i pressed it too hard (got a bit enthusiastic with the cleaning), but it started working again 10 minutes later

i found the digitizer seller on ebay, the only problem is, is there anybody that can teach me how to replace the digitizer ? cos' the seller said that i need to solder the digitizer.

My HTC TyTN screen is defect after I tried to repair the alignment issue. HTC seems not to be able to send me a new screenpart. Is there anyone here with a defect HTC TyTN after flashing who is willing to sell me his device?
Or does anyone know where to get spare parts in europe for the TyTN?

Hi there,
I have (on rare ocasions) seen tytn parts on ebay selling fairly cheap, it might be worth checking on there.
Failing that I thought HTC had a repair centre somewhere in London, you may have to leave it with them for a few days but they should be able to fix it for you for a fee.

There was a thread recently from someone looking for the screen ribbon cable - this pointed to a couple of websites which sold tytn (maybe the O2 version) screens.
I'm a bit busy at the moment but will post the links if I find them later.

Almost 2½ years on and buying a brand new screen for a TyTN is not very economical anymore. If there is anyone on this forum with a paypal account, a broken TyTN/P3600 (but working screen !) and a helpful nature, then will you sell me your old TyTN so I can take out the screen and fix mine which cracked today ?

if it still does it after a hardreset it's a hardware issue
if its still under warranty, take it back. To change the lcd is pretty pricey and its so NOT worth the hassle of trying to change the touchscreen... If you need to fix then try ebay for screens or a broke phone. Got my new jasjam for $120 Australian and surprise, surprise, just a dud battery and camera module. Replaced from old phone and now it works fine...

I require some input from some of the gurus of xda-devs and its a question im guessing a lot people would like to know the answer to
Can we swap spare parts from say a Cingular 8525 to a MDA Vario II? (Herm200 --> Herm300)
what i mean to say is, lets say we could only find a front keypad for a cingular 8525, would it fit into the vario II?of course the orientation of keys would be correct for the cingular and not for the vario so you'd need a new front keypad aswell, but on the 'technical' level, is this possible?

Don't quote me on this BUT I believe I read a post from Mike Channon saying that internally ALL the Hermes variants were the same. Be best to search through his threads, website or ask the maestro himself...

Yes that's probably about 99% true, BUT I notice the d/pad layout on some variants is quite different and so the underlying board may well be different - have not had time to fully check this.

I tried to check that out and did not find much info. BUT I see no reason for it not to work circuit wise. You might need to remap keys.
Have you checked that the 8525 keypad will fit the housing you have?

id happily modify the housing as a temporary thing, but i reckon i'll give it a shot and report back. i have a hunch it will fix the white screen issue.
does anyone know of anyone who has a brick they'd like to sell?!
Ebay is good, bought a couple of dud jasjams off there to fix mine and wouldn't you know it, one actually worked except for the camera & battery. Ended up cannobilizing MY Jasjam to fix up the "broken" one I purchased for parts....

Hello, since some months, my touchscreen sometime stopped to work untill today where it just don't work anymore. Just in case, I flashed my rom but the problem is still the same... Is there a way to make it working again somehow ?
If not, I hope that one of the soft in http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-242578.html is better than "fake cursor" wich always double-clic and use 99% of the cpu.
get new digitiser - however not easy to fit.
I didn't know it was possible to buy just this and not a whole new device, thanks.
Digitizers are available and are fairly cheap to purchase, but from your querry I would assume fitting one will be beyond your capabilities, so unless you know someone who will fit one for you professionally, I suggest purchasing the LCD + Digitizer as a unit and see the Uni disassembly guide or ask me to walk you through fitting.
