Ok, had my phone ages now, but recently noticed a problem
Whenever I call someone, and get a busy tone. The tone comes through my phone speaker, really loud (Enough to hurt my ears)
This is sooooo annoying, does anyone else get this? and does anyone know how to fix it??
Nearly dropped the phone to cradle my ear the first time it happened.
I get that as well :-(
I investigated both using the forum search and google, but had no luck.
very annoying indeed! i did some search too but nothing... anybody?

Hi all,
Does anyone else have problems with people not being able to hear them when they use speaker phone on their MDA Pro? I can hear them as clear as you like, they just can't hear me.
It seems like it's something to do with noise cancellation software in the pro. Does anyone know a way to get around this?
Thanks
Sank
Anyone ? I really need to find a solution to this.
TIA
Sank
Have you tried in an otherwise silent environment? I find the speakerphone on mine near useless unless I shout down the thing almost directly into the microphone and the other caller shouts back.
I'm getting reports that people cannot hear me on speakerphone now. It was OK a couple of weeks ago (well, never got any complaints ).
I've installed PocketZenPhone recently, so maybe a messed the settings up . Haven't had time to dig into it.
Is there anything you've installed recently that may have changed things (almost impossible to know with Win based systems !)
Regards,
Lance
Glad I'm not the only 1, but does anyone have a solution?
Xiasma - I find mine worst when the person I'm phoning is in a loud environment. I also find people can hear me better if I turn the volume down.
Lance - I haven't installed anything new for a long time, so I don't think it's something I've installed.
Thanks
Dave
This has happened to me with several 8525's now...hass anyone else had this problem, better yet, figured out how to stop it!
I can hear a VERY faint buzz, and this is how i know that it's happening, but the user on the other end is hearing very loud buzz during call. It's not constant, sometimes it will come and go. but i had to replace a previous hermes because it got so bad. My newest one is now just starting to do it more consistently and this needs to either be fixed or replaced. PLEASE HELP!! THanks,
Seems like I have yet another issue with my Wing. Out of nowhere, I mean I wasn't even using it and it took me a little bit to realize it, the speaker stopped working. All of sudden my phone won't make a sound. I can hear when I make a call, but nothing else. No ringtones, alarms, music, anything that comes out of the speaker. Please don't tell me my speaker blew and please tell me there is a solution. Any help is greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.
there is, replace the speaker lol
Maybe the speaker contacts or terminals are not proper. If you know how to dis-mantle your wing, you shall probably fix it yourself. Did you drop your wing by any chance?
I was thinking about taking it apart myself, but didn't want o ruin it any worse than it already is. One thing I do recall before it completely went is that when you sliding the volume up and down, you know how it usually goes "bink"? Well when I had tried to turn it down, it sounded all cracked and distorted. I heard turned my phone off about 10 minutes later so I didn't really pay attention to it.
This has been bugging me since i got the phone
If i am on my handsfree talking to someone, and get an incoming call waiting call, the person who i am talking to can no longer hear me. its a big problem
anyone have this problem/sort it out?
is no one else getting this?

My experience is that, when there is a call waiting call comes in, the speaker phone turns on by itself. You may check if you have the same situation. Your other side cannot listen to you because you are far away from your phone and the speaker phone cannot pick up your voice.

cheers mate thats sorted me out
Just want to check whether anyone else have the same problem as me.
When I plug in the HTC-supplied earphones, it won't beep through the speakers when a new SMS comes in, instead, it beeps through the earphones. I usually connects the earphones when I'm driving in case I have to pick up any calls but I don't stick 'em in my ears all the time, so I end up not knowing whenever a new message comes in, which is pretty annoying. But the speaker rings just fine with an incoming call with the earphones connected, no problems there whatsoever.
Anybody have any idea how to fix the problem so that the phone throws out a new message audio alert through the speakers (when the earphones are connected)?
Nobody else having the same problem??

Well yes ive noticed it does that, but i hadn't noticed it as a problem..... Bit of annoyance i'll wager, but then you shouldnt be reading texts when driving anyway, its far more dangerous than talking on a headset, perhaps thats why?..... hehe
Finally!! I thought I was the only one having this problem!
Well, it's true that I shouldn't be reading text while driving but surely it's fine to read my text replies when I'm stopped at a red light?
Anyway, receiving a reply is probably one of the best way to confirm that my previous outgoing text didn't get stuck in the outbox.
Hehe yea, I get ya. Just playing devils advocate.
It does seem a rather strange decision.
I do however have a workaround for you, even if it is pretty grim.
Start the fm radio, activate loudspeaker, then mute the radio. Hey presto new message tone comes out of the main speaker.
I havent tested to see what effect that has on using the headset for calls, I dont drive so it's not a priority, but might be worth looking at if it is that important to you.
Edit - well it certainly still rings through teh earphones when in this state..... further testing i'll let you do.

same problem.
dont know, what i can do.
im not sure about when headphones are plugged in but sometimes i don't receive notifications when headphones aren't plugged in
Different version, yes, *problem*
This also applies to calls. I have my headphones in and walk away from the phone. It doesn't ring when the headset is plugged in! So, I constantly miss calls. Anyone have an idea about how to make it ring on the device when the headphones are plugged in???? (I really don't think it makes sense that I have a whole new discipline of plugging and unplugging the headphones all day long!)
