Hi
I am not able to activate the pushmail feature on my JASJAR (O2 XDA EXEC). My device details are as follows:
ROM: 1.30.107 WWE
Radio: 1.09.00
Ext ROM: 1.30.162 WWE
I have configured my mail account in the device and was able to send/ receive mails over GPRS/ WiFi. However, when I go to programs/ CommManager, I can see the envelope icon, but I am not able to activate the same. Can someone, suggest me what needs to be done please.
Many Thanks,
Suresh Nallan

Helo, I have set my internet providers e-mail on my I-mate JAM...I have to chose the IMAP4 cause on POP3 settings it doesn`t even connect. But now I have some other problems...even if I chose the "Headers only" options the e-mail client get the full mails content...attachments included. I noticed this when installed the GPRS monitor....When I had the SE P900 to check the e-mail (wheb no msgs) it tooks just app. 1-2KB but on I-mate JAM it tooks abaut 10-15KB. Is this a bug or do I set sth wrong?...

Primoz
You can assign a ringtone to a contact through "Contacts -> [Contact Name] -> Ringtone" (no need for any 3rd party software)
You can assign a ring-image to a contact through "Contacts -> [Contact Name] -> Picture" (works much better than IA's PhotoContacts / CallerIDs)
You can always stay connected with GPRS (even if u lost connection, it will reconnect) by changing registry value of HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\{Your Connection Class}\Connections\[Your Connection Name]\AlwaysOn = 1
You can restart your radio in a more faster way through "Wireless Modem -> Serial -> Start -> [wait for 'com open error'] -> [your radio led shall stop to blink] -> Now 'Turn off flight mode'"
Restarting of radio is needed when u can't connect to GPRS (remote modem disconnected) OR when u need to switch to another sim
You can stay connected with GPRS after placing/receiving a call by:
1) connecting with GPRS
2) turning off your device
3) placing a call but cancelling it without having a conversation
Now you can place/receive calls without disconnecting the GPRS
My Orange SPV M1000 has never had a problem like this. I can be on the internet using Tesco payg sim and make or recive calls without interrupting gprs internet..
Operator version: 3.66.1.230
Rom version: 1.66.00WWE
Rom dare: 02/20/04
Radio version: 1.10.00
Protocol version: 1337.18
ExtRom: 1.66.230
yeah, as far as I'm aware i've never had problems with gprs disconnecting over phone calls..

Do you know if this is saved in Desktop Outlook after the synchronization?
It displays only the default ringtones.
How can I assign other ringtone that I have previously copied to Windows folder (with a white space before the dot extension filename)?
Thanks!

you can assign ringtone per contact by open Contacts and then select which one do you want to assign ,then select Edit.
The ringtone place is under "Mobile number".
But it doesn't wync with MS outlook.
First let me thank everyone here, have applied bigstorage hack to my imate jam. Works a treat. So a big thank you.
Now to my problems. I would like to get back the smart dialling. According to a post I read it should be on the FTP site, but I can't seem to find it, it is getting late here  Can anyone give me a link?
Also I am on Virgin network, my GPRS seems to have dissappeared. Does anyone know the settings or have a file that will install them for me? I have tried the settings from club i-mate, but it didn't seem to work. In my messaging screen I have only text messages and Outlook.
Oh don't know if this will help, Rom Version 1.12.00 WWE, Radio 1.12.10, Protocol 1337.42 and EXTROM blank.
thanks for your help

Hello,
I am using SPV M600 (HTC Prophet) with ROM 2.26.10.2 WWE. It hadn't have an MMS account, but I installed MMS_v2.0.0.16_Magician_WWE_20041115.CAB, with included MMS Composer, that cab file worked properly on my former PDA - Qtek S100, without any problems. It also created MMS account on my Prophet.
Now the problem is that I use proper settings for GPRS connection and MMS settings in my GSM network and GPRS works good (e. g. the internet through Internet Explorer), but I cannot send nor receive MMS. Every time I want to send MMS, there is an information: "cannot connect for an unknown reason" and when I want to receive MMS by tapping "download", nothing happens. What should I do?

i have done lots of research.. flashed 3 different roms on my mobile phone but still couldn't get windows live messenger and pop3/imap mail to connect over GPRS.

I am having same problem. Cannot connect to Messenger or my Exchange server. Using UK Vodaphone Palm Treo Pro with WM6.1 Professional and loaded A4 Chinese text input. Not sure if this is problem. Phone works great except for connecting to Microsoft products for email, i.e. Exchange and Messenger. Moved usemynls file to another folder named other which I created in Windows directory but still does now work.
Did anyone find a solution or even identify problem?
Best,
David
well i got it sorted out..
basically china mobile has two type of GPRS connections. cmnet and cmwap..
when u go and ask them for gprs subscription, they will only open cmwap for u which in my view works only for HTTP (port 80) connections.. means u can browse websites but nothing else. no weather updates, etc, etc.
anyways... i came to know about it and then got subscription of cmnet and everything works fine now...
