I've used my JJ for a week [+] now, and after being a pretty strong user on my Himalaya, I'm not convinced that the JJ has a lot to offer. Here's a summary of my experiences, and some questions ppl may b able to help with:
What it truly offers vs XDA
Look, it works. But is it worth the money. Here's what you truly get, make your own decision. I have loot, so I went for it. But if I was stretched, there's no way...
Pretty kewl internet surfing: Speed good in 3G areas, and screen size along with small fonts (hi res) makes page width manageable. I find many sites where the combo boxes do not populate, but it definitely works on many sites that my XDA did not. Can't wait for Opera, tho many others anxiously await NetFront.
Useable email writing due to good keyboard. But, even with WebIS Mail, there is no HTML mail - just plain text. U can receive HTML as text of course.
Battery life not much different to XDA: a well set up XDA that is. I'm only now trying with 3G turned off to see if that helps further [Actually, I think it's quite a bit better than the XDA afetr all]
Pretty: Yep, VGA is very pretty. [After some use, I'm finding it very nice for calendars, surfing, emails, and anythng else where screen estate was apremium]
Terminal Services client: (aka remote desktop) - STUNNING given hi res. I can now get into my remote eMule server and see how things are going in crystal clarity. Love it!
Issues I have not solved - any thoughts?
Not enough hardware buttons in good locations: I drove my XDA with ButtonMax and the easily located hardware buttons. The JJ has fewer, and rather discrete, buttons. This means that you can't always hit that "close app" button easily, and paging in MobiPocket is limited. I HAVE gotten buttonMax to work - but a workaround is required. [VIto ButtonMapper also works]
No 'New' button: This sux BIG time! I had my XDA customised to "New SMS" vs "New eMail", and now I have to go into mail (WebIS mail beta is sloooow), choose account (SMS vs eMail), then hit new. Sounds like I'm whining, but I churn out a lot of messages in a day... [Using pocketPlus, I;ve gotten a "new message" command mapped to a hard key. Works great: hit the button and I get a list of account options. So it goes button-click accounnt-type message]
No Pocket Informant: Oh this is BAD BAD BAD!! The internal calendar app is SO crap one cannot believe that devices actually sell with it! I wouldn't have ever changed to PPC if I hadn't known about PI in advance. ANyway, PI fails on the JJ, even with October-1 ROM, due to 'POOM' issues. They are workin on it, but I'll be watching Agenda Fusion's progress equally closely. The first across the finish line...
[UPDATE: I've got it working - read their forum covering v3 this beta release for more. It's AWESOME in VGA!]
Nope - it fails after a day, and PI dev/ceo dude says he thinks it's a JJ ROM issue and it not working on solving it. SO start watching for Agenda Fusion to solve this for us...
Titlebar date/time: the OBOpt hack works, but the damned date only shows in the today screen. Go into any app or programme folders, and it gets knocked off the title bar. I WANT the time visible at all times - not like a today plugin damit!! Any suggestions? [UPDATE: Answer below - I didn't know of this WM5 feature]
Speed dial and recent call access: Up/Down on joypad no longer take me to speed dial and recent calls list when in phone mode. Now I have to touch the screen to dial whilst driving. Voice dialing will help - bit I've not tried this yet. Will see if ButtonMax can solve l8r tonight. [No, there's no "recent calls" command to map BM to - will have to work on a reg hack at some stage for this]
If ur buying for the keyboard, be careful; it's not that accessible. I still use the SIP for a lot of input, and only unrevolve the whole things when I'm settling in to surf or message [But its a GREAT keyboard!]
No BT icon. Bit daft. [Will test out BT switch apps this w.end]Buss updated his BT icon app for the JJ - look elsewhere under my posts. It's great - but it showed me that the BT issue is actually a deeper problem covered elsewhere - BT disconnects and is unreliable at best!
[*]Duplicates: I can't f'ing believe that I STILL get duplicates in the notifications queue!!! M$ have absolutely no excuse for not sorting this widely known issue out once and for all. Havn't yet found a proggie that does nightly cleanup - any tested suggestions? [REMOVED: this must have been a rogue app cos after a hard reset and re-insatll, I no longer have dups. I'll try to figure out what caused it over the next few days]Npote - they are BACK! sddeamon dups, and despite several hard resents I have not managed to figure out if there's a specific app causing them. I do know that there's no software to automatically clean up every night that works for the JJ on this particular dup[/list:e4db347fb1]
Things that work well for me
I've got quite a few of my critical apps up and working. Here's what I rely on:
Uptime Meter: gr8 4 battery life watching
Phone Dashboard: to track monthly 'free' minutes. Charts and dialog boxes don't do well in VGA, but it works [No it doesn't - no minutes are tracked - sorry!]
PocketPlus: Now, some forums say this does NOT work - latest 3.0.0b3888 does (with October-1 ROM). Repeating alarms do not work tho so...[UPDATE: I have recently hard reset and am installing 1x1 over a few days to see what the bugger is - PocketPlus is a contender at this stage...]
apReminderPlus: ESSENTIAL repeating alarms (who the hell hears that wank "cheep" in the morning!?). Not the best app but it's free and works. WIll try others over time. Reason I'm not happy is that altho it repeats and ascends, it does not pause for 5 mins then repeat the process over until u finally get back to your phone and realise how many meetings you've missed. It tries - wants to auto-snooze, but this feature does not work in WM5
Terminal Services client is great
ButtonMax: Now ESSENTIAL given the lack of external buttons on JJ. Map the few buttons u have to click, double-click, click-n-hold. I can't record Macros yet despite remapping "button 4" and readin all the help. They just don't record. [Also de-installed for now]
Pocket Sudoku: Yeehaa!
Mobipocket reader: Works - but fonts are not great to read for long [Get beta 5 from their dev site - Google it - STUNNING in VGA res!]
1-Calc, total commander, and eWallet all work fine.
Bluetooth headset support: Does a damn good job of reconnecting with my headset when I'm in rangeNOPE - it's a load of sh*t. Read my posts elsewhere on this!
Voicel dialing: Works VERY well - 1 click of BT headset and I'm ready to go
Extra section: Why I had to hard reset
Things went tits-up when I tried to install an app, then half way thro the cab transfer from PC-PPC I cancelled the process. DOn't see why it's an issue....but thereafter:
Add/remove list was blank
Could not install any new apps
Registry restore via sunnysoft did nothing to help (sunnysoft say "not for WM5" in their email to me - so don't expect too much from this...!)
Pocket Informant had failed (blank calendar issue) on me earlier so I was happy to re-build and give it a second chance anyway
At one stage my BT device went spastic - would not work, and when I deleted it I could not re-pair it
What's important is that there doesn't seem to be a way to get back to a saved state. Sunnysoft is NOT reliable according to THEM, and a simple memory copy cannot be restored.
I've been trying the beta for Mobipocket Reader 5. It works (though a bit buggy sometimes) and looks better in VGA but you cannot access the ID of the device from within Mobipocket. So, you cannot read secured books. I take it you used the old 4.x version and you could see the device's Mobipocket ID?
Re: JasJar: Thoughts & issues after a week's use

Try tapping the Date/Time display on the Today screen. On the "More" tab there's an option "Display the clock on the title bar in all programs".

Nice 1 Dale! Found it and I'm MUCH happier with fonts - it's so crisp n clean Happy to live with bugs (not that I've seen any yet).
For others, the beta is here:
http://www.mobipocket.com/dev/beta/windowsmobile.asp?ID=1
For those interested, I emailed the makers of pocket informant saying that I have a wm2005 device and they replied with a link to the latest beta that works very well on the JJ. I suggest any1 interested do the same.

Hiya bukwit, can U confirm for me: Was the link like this: http://download.pocketinformant.com/FTF/PI_Public_Build/
If not, please post it here. If so, this is the beta3 build that I (and several others) tried. It worked gr8 for a day, then during the midnight cleanup run I hit the blank calendar POOM issue. Let us know if you get past tonight without hitting the same wall...
yes this is the correct link for the beta...the current version I have is Rev 3 build 434. Been running it since saturday with no issues so far...
date hack on the today screen
Hello
As in the title- could you guys please provide the link to the date hack on the today screen? I am really missing the date on the JasJar top bar
New Soft
One more thing -
There is nice new pocket plus 3.0.1 which for my taste takes less memory, For me PI beta3 works ok.
Lucasz: Thanx for 3.01 - got it. Date hack is here: http://www.phm.lu/PocketPC/RegTweaks/
ANyone know how to change format of date shown - I know I had it as dd-mmm in my XDA but I've no idea where I found the regkey
Bukwit: darn! what r u doing right that it works...? Think I'll do a full sunnysoft backup, then try PI alone and build up until I find whatever knocks it out. Will be worth it...
I little anoyance I have noted with the Jasjar that you'd may like to confirm:
The volume slider is not functional when the Jasjar clam is shut, screen towards the keyboard. It is OK with screen facing up! I discovered this playing mp3s as I do of a morning with device in protective pouch. I often like to bump volume up and down for various tunes. I found to have control, I have to slip the Jasjar in its case screen facing up - not good.
@fonxnolds,
Thats the reason they gave a wired headset which has a volumer slider on it

I never opened them! I use Etymotic Research ER-4P earphones / earplugs, exclusively for listening to music. Retail approx US$330 a pair. >30db Noise reduction passively, brilliant Bass...
Anything that comes with a device is suitable for phone dialog only, not Music in my opinion. Sound leaks, annoying other people etc.
I may consider snipping the earplugs off the supplied cable and wiring up a 3.5mm Stereo socket for my ER-4Ps if that is the only solution. Better still check out the accessory market and grab a spare that I can alter with petty cash.
$330?!?! Amzing! I guess you really do like your music!
I'll update this post reguarly using colour to distinguish between edits. So, If u post fixes, be assured that they'll get into the main post, but please don't be offended if that don't pass credit - readers will see who suggested it further down.
The second update is shown in RED

Build 444 has been uploaded. It works fine
I still get loads of duplicates in the notification queue as well - all from sddaemon.exe? What's more this is a 'wakeup' event and so the duplicates were making my jasjar take foorreeevveerr to turn on from suspend. I removed them with scareybear check notification and it's much quicker to resume from suspend (like half a second as opposed to three to four seconds).
Does anyone know what sddaemon.exe is?

I found that after removing PI completely, these notification dups stopped. I had exactly the same issue before. Not saying it is definitely PI, but that's the ONLY thing I changed and I've been OK for a whole 8hrs now.
PS: Scareybear did not remove dups for me - just ID's then then I had to remove manually! Anton Amov's Pocket mechanic removed them - any idea of a utility that does it every midnight like we had in 2003SE?
Updated again in blue
The new support of better resolution in Terminal client is great! but why not in full screen?? it would be nice working in full screen mode VGA. the bars on top and bottom of the screen are stealing to much space. any ideas?
maybe just a registry key?
or any similar applications which are supporting full screen, but faster than citrix and VNC?
thx
Um, Terminal Services *IS* Citrix, M$ bought the code to it years ago...
I've just installed the ICA client on my Universal, will try it sometime
ICA client works perfectly on my device...Takes up more space than I'd ideally like, but it's flawless.
sl9: oh, didn´t know that. thanks for the explanation.
sub69: well i also have the ICA client installed. But my problem is that i have a hosted exchange-box with MS Office, but where i can log in only from the ASP´s-Website, which again is not supported by pocket internet explorer....
is ICA working in full screen?
but in any case i can´t understand why MS didn´t implement that function. am i wrong or did the last version in wm2003se work in full screen?
Hmmm,
I'm trying to set this up, but it doesn't seem to work out... COuld some provide me a step-by-step tutorial ? I'm working with Windows XP and WM2005.
Thanx !
Sammy ;o)
Hmmm, I login to my work network using an IE portal which (after a few passwords etc) automatically loads my ICA Client and off I go. Exchange boxes and ASP's that don't support IE are beyond me, I'm afraid.
No full screen options anywhere, ever. Not in ICA or Terminal Services Client (as far as I can remember)...
www.logmein.com It's free and nice and it works with firewalls, etc....and of course, full screen
Post some screenshots.
I made an app that will make most apps fullscreen, but show me a shot and I'll see if it's suitable.
I'm on QVGA WM200SE tho...
V
vijay555: That sounds nice! as soon as i have some spare time i will post sone screenshots. thnx!
dherrero: Hey, great hint! this tool is working perfect! very fast and the resolution settings are incredible!
I had a problem accessing the ICA config UI localy on my universal. IE seems to have an issue with the loopback address? I can access the config UI remotley but not locally! Has anyone else experince this? I may try reinstalling after a hard reset to see if it's something else screwing up the TCP stack...
Also, I doubt you'll find anything that makes beter use of bandwidth than the ICA protocol (and conversly, anything that makes worse use of it than VNC! )
wrt ICA v RDP - ICA is based on similar stuff to RDP but is significatly more advanced, allowing multiple virtual channels to be incoporated into one ICA channel, allowing things like drive mapping, client printing etc. True, M$ bought ICa technology from Citrix (and Citrix are, in fact M$'s biggest partner!) but I belive developemnt of ICA leads developemtn of RDP quiet significantly.
I manage a farm of about 30 metaframe servers here at work so getting a working ICA client on my universal would be handy! I've had it working fine on other WM5 devices and WM2003SE devices previosuly.
ICA fullscreen is cool and I've had it working previously. There's a config option in the UI somewhere. Lurverly! Is usless on CE devices without a keybopard though as you can't get the SIp up without the taskbar being visible!
tintoy - look in the developers forum for my program SipSwitch, for toggling the sip from a shortcut (ie Hardware button!). That way, hide the UI but use a spare hardware button to bring up the SIP.
Never tried it on WM2005, but it should work.
V
Sounds excatlty like what i was looking for when i tried full screen icaon my himilaya! I'll seek it out.
tintoy - let me know how SIPswitch goes.
Re terminal services; I've had a quick play on WM2003 and I can do something with it, but I don't run terminal services on my desktop (how can I test it - run remote desktop?) so haven't tested the actual client screen yet.
But, as I said, post a screenshot and I'll have a think about it.
Right now my WM2005 emulator is playing up, so a little delay...
V
i found this today
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d...enduser5/html/wce50conRDPRegistrySettings.asp
BitmapCacheSize : REG_DWORD Default is 1500. This value is the size, in KB, of the bitmap cache in memory. The maximum value is 32000.
BitmapPersistCacheSize : REG_DWORD Default is 10. This value is the size, in KB, of the bitmap cache file.
0x5DC(1500) and 0xA(10) respectivly,, im using on these now, i noticed that the defaults on JJ was v low in comparison so i upped them and it has got rif of the black boxes and real slow refresh
however
i added this key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client
add FullScreenAlways : REG_DWORD added value 1
dosent make it full screen, the way were after, it refers to the terminal session size being forced to 640x376 256 colours, rather than having a 1024x768 session that you have scroll bars on to pan around..
Carnivor didn't mention it, but those parameters are found here...
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client
On my Jasjar they were also way low... 10 and 1 instead of the 'minimun' on 1500 and 10. I changed them, but haven't tried it yet hopefully it'll help
Brett
Don't know if it is relevant to ths subject, but would like to share. I use GoToMyPC. It is not free, but it supports full screen (as always) and many different zooming options. Very usable on JJ.
Also, it works through firewalls and dynamic IP address. All the networking complexity is handled by GoToMyPC.

I don't think that those settings are ment for the Pocket PC. They look for me like settings for embedded CE.
I have another interesting problem:
I have to open in a terminal session another session, because the other server is'nt exposed to the internet.
In the second "session" the "Shift" key is ignored. That's bad for typing a case sensitive password... :?
The CAPs key works fine.
Strange, isn't is?

Can you please point out the free version ?, I can only find a trial version
it dosent clearly state that its WM5 but the keys definatly make a big improvement of display glitches. those black boxes i had everywhere are long gone.
Logmein is fab. Free, fullscreen and just works.
I've found a good VNC client that works full screen: http://dotnetvnc.sourceforge.net/
Works like a charm if a little slow.
I developed application I was always missing on WindowsMobile - one that shows time remaining to next appointment or time left to current appointment. It's still in beta phase, I hope you will help me find bugs and problems.
neXt - v.0.5.4BETA
UPDATE:
- internet updates added
- some little improvements
Requirements:
- .NET CF installed
- WM5 or higher (tested on WM6 and WM6.1)
- 50KB of internal storage memory
Some informations:
- tapping on today plugin launches main application
- application is completly freeware (BSD based licence will be included in final version)
- unknown VGA compatibility - on emulator looks good, but I don't have VGA device to make tests
- doesn't support all-day events
- informs about appointments from today and tomorrow
- it has multi-language support - take a look on xml files in program directory: you can make your own translation
- english (default) and polish languages included
- internet updates
Install to internal storage, not memory card!
I will be very thankful for any feedback and bug reports.
New version added!
Last version was downloaded over 20 times - please give me some feedback. Is it working good or not and what is wrong?
will give it a shot and let you know. thanks
been looking for something like this. using the today plug in, the only thing that seems to be happening is the keyboard icon comes up on main screen and I lose the soft buttons at the bottom but after opening and closing random programs it sorts itself out. cheers. I'm have kjam running wm5.

I have something like this. Softkeys are functional then. It happens mostly after first loading plugin (after activating or soft reset). Best cure is to launch anything and go back to today screen - everything should be normal again (as you said). I think the reason is that this plugin is in fact windows form (not window in native code).
I'm glad it works with WM5, not only WM6
Does this work for alarm? Spb Shell has a nice "Time remaining for next alarm" on the main screen. neXt has this feature?
Does not display properly on a Diamond VGA device. Plugin 2nd line is cut in half [cannot read] and the main program does not resize for VGA [stays in QVGA size, about 1/4 of screen].
Otherwise it does appear to be working properly.

Skyfire 0.8 Beta Release Notes
Released: September 24, 2008
Skyfire is a new experience that brings the full internet to your mobile. Watch videos on YouTube or Hulu, connect with your friends on Myspace or Facebook, shop on Amazon or listen to music. Can you do it on your computer at home? Then you can do it on Skyfire on the go.
Skyfire is fast, easy to use and available for free on many smart phone models.
Skyfire 0.8 Beta is a new beta release of Skyfire for Windows Mobile (version 5 or 6). This release has been enhanced with both requests from our active community and new additions that we think will make Skyfire a better experience.
We greatly appreciate our beta community. Their support, active participation and feedback on the forums at http://support.skyfire.com/ helps us to constantly improve the product.
What’s new in Skyfire 0.8 Beta:
Skyfire 0.8 Beta has been under development for the past 4 months, integrating more than 1000 fixes and enhancements. The major focus of this release was to enhance usability, make the experience smoother, increase responsiveness, and improve audio and video quality.
* Contextual Zoom: Let’s you simply and quickly get to exactly where you want to be on the page. Skyfire’s zooming capability has been improved, and now the camera corners feature shows you a match with major screen elements within its view.
* Super Bar: Use our handy new SuperBar to perform a search or enter a URL from a single field – it’s a great time and space saver that is easily accessible.
* Content sharing: You can now share web content by SMS. We even make the URL short enough that it will fit easily into a SMS text message. Especially useful for the really long URL’s used by many sites. You can now also share Skyfire itself with friends by SMS or email.
* Faster application launch: Skyfire launches much more quickly so you to get your content quicker.
* Video and audio: We’ve improved the quality of both video and audio, so you can enjoy a smoother playback experience.
* Reconnect - Skyfire will automatically reconnect, so you don’t need to restart when your wireless connection is dropped.
* Default browser: Now you can set Skyfire as your default browser. Clicking Web links in SMS or Email messages will automatically start Skyfire.
* Enhanced text entry allows you to more easily complete web forms right within a page. First you can enter the text right on the page. Plus you automatically move to the next form element (text field, list, radio button, or checkbox) after you have made a form entry using the ‘OK’ or ‘Enter’ keys.
* Content download: Allows you to download images and other content from most web pages.
* Home screen integration: Allows you to add a Skyfire search and URL bar to your Windows Mobile Today screen, so you can enter what you are looking for right away without first starting Skyfire.
* Mobile site support: If a website also has a mobile version, Skyfire can optionally hint to you about the availability of a mobile alternative. With the new mobile site indicator, you’ll get a quick link to access the mobile version – then you can decide if you want the mobile or full website.
* Bookmarks have been significantly enhanced – giving you much better control.
* Additionally we enhanced the start page: have the top news items accessible immediately via a headline widget.
Downloading and Installing:
To be able to use Skyfire, you first need to sign up for a Skyfire account at http://www.skyfire.com/register. Additionally you need a supported phone, e.g. Windows Mobile 5 or 6 (for Skyfire Beta 0.8) or Symbian (S60 3’rd Edition, for Skyfire Beta 0.6). Please note: We currently only the US is supported.
If you are already registered then simply log into your existing account at http://www.skyfire.com/users/login and download the installation file, or request a SMS to be sent to your phone. Download the file and start the installer. There is no need to uninstall Skyfire first – simply overwrite the existing installation during the process. No worry: your cookies and bookmarks will be preserved.
If you are new to Skyfire and you need to register, provide at your Name, Email and Phone number on http://www.skyfire.com/register. You will be sent an Email and SMS with a URL to complete your registration. Follow this URL (on your phone or PC Browser), and complete the registration. Once registered, you can immediately download the correct installation file for your device. If you downloaded the installation file on your PC you must first transfer it to your phone. Start the installer on your phone and follow the instructions. Once you start Skyfire you will be prompted for your Email address and the password you provided during registration. This will be just once, and you will not have to enter it again (remember the password though to log into your account!)
Known Issues:
* Installation: When the client receives an upgrade notification after resuming from the background it might not successfully resume (Issue 2923). Please exit Skyfire and start again.
* Uninstall: Skyfire uninstall might not be successful or complete when Skyfire is active at the time of uninstall (Issue 1861). Please exit Skyfire first before uninstall.
* When leaving the phone idle for more than 5 minutes Skyfire will display the start page (Issue 2892)
* Downloading files with long filenames might truncate file extensions (Issue 2726)
* Myspace.com: Have to zoom in to 100% to be able to click the log-in button (Issue 2115)
* Mobile site hinting and support: some ‘mobile’ sites are rendering similar to a full web page (e.g. zoom and horizontal scroll). Often this is due to the web page not reporting itself as being mobile. We are looking for a solution.
* Playing video for a long time (> 5 min) might disconnect Skyfire (Issue 2827).
* Non standard SIP’s (Soft Input Panel, e.g. on-screen keyboard) might interfere with Skyfire operation and showing artifacts
* Very long web pages might get cut off at the bottom (Issue 2800)
* Back and Menu soft-key buttons might disappear from screen (Issue 2793). Please use the right soft-key, it usually will bring the on-screen keys back onto the screen.
* In some cases the page might scroll to a different location when entering text into a text entry field (Issue 2678, 2729)
* When Skyfire is in the background the toolbar may become visible on Windows Home screen when switching programs in windows, or locking the phone. (Issue 2732)
* Skyfire URL bar becomes unresponsive when device was in standby mode. (Issue 2892)
* Links to media files (MP3’s etc) currently only play back, and do not initiate download.
* Scrolling through very long list boxes has slow behavior (Issue 1202)
Not supported:
* VGA phones not supported yet (e.g. HTC Touch Diamond etc).

YOU MUST BE A BETA TESTER TO BE ABLE TO USE THIS SOFTWARE
currently there has been issues with loggin in with this new version...it has been mentioned and will be fixed soon
*yawn*
I'm not an impatient soul by nature but this experience has been one long frustration. It's been months since I registered, haven't heard one peep out of these people since the SMS message I received. Tried accessing their website today and many pages are just missing, and the titlebar says "Welcome to Skyfire!, Error"
Tried logging in to "my account" and was helpfully told that my email address had not been verified yet (!) - basically a polite way of saying "screw you."
I was really looking forward to trying this browser, and although I totally understand the idea of limited public beta testing, being in the software test field myself, the almost complete unresponsiveness of this group to "unverified" users is awfully irritating.
Meanwhile, Opera 9.5 is already a fantastic browser, and I just can't imagine what features Skyfire is going to have that is going to make me overlook my feelings of being ignored and forgotten by a company I wanted badly to support.
It's been a long time since a company has put me off quite this badly. Even MS communicates with the users once in awhile. I don't yet really hope this effort fails, but at this point it could hardly be said it deserves to succeed.
AJ
Finally INTERNATIONAL users can use this app???
Don't Like The Idea Of The Sms .. Login.... What Is Gold?
I Prefer Opera
I installed the new version and when i open Skyfire it ONLY shows the top Unibar, Back, and Menu. Nothing else, just a gray screen. I did manage to get the home page to come up once, but that was it. It's wierd. it thinks a page is loaded cause it will let me double tap and then if i get lucky and click on a link(i assume it's a link that i can't see) it will attempt to load the page...
Have already rebooted. Will try a reinstall...

I believe that they are having some issues with the authentication process, so be patient. You got further than I did though
opera is still more of a desktp browser. the text input for skyfire and loading speeds are still faster, but navigating the pages inskyfire is no where near as smooth as opera. good improvements.. but the major features skyfire were lacking are still missing:
still get the checkerboard when scrolling through a page
smartfit is not very smart.. columns are used in thumbnail view which doesn't really make sense
when you press up and down on dpad while typing text entry, it closes out of the box.. so how do you see wat you were typing before?
overall this versin is better.. but opera is still winning... especially since now it is supporting flash
good stuff though hope to see navigation improved!

Disregard post.

Damn so you downloaded the .80 version?
I downloaded and installed .80 with no problem. I could log into the web site and download.
However, when my Skyfire tries to connect on the handheld it tells me that the username/password are not correct.
I don't get it.

M2D users?
A newbie question...
Can anyone tell me how to make M2D internet widget run SkyFire rather than Opera?
The new 0.8 release is da*n quick, presents all websites great, and I like it more than Opera, however I don't want to lose the widget and put SkyFire in the launch area only...
Thanks
BigE

Hi all,
What I want is to have the same Gmail interface than the iphone, and not the poor m.gmail.com interface ....
Opera does not do that, and Iris Browser not anymore (it worked but now it does not work anymore).
I live in France so Skyfire is not for me fr the moment....
How should I do then ?
Thanks for replies.
Regards

I registered, but I didn't get anything to load onto my device (Kaiser)...
@Sean when you say you didn't get anything to load does it mean you don't seen the app after installation or no call list was loaded when the application was launched?

I never got a link to D/L the app it's self. I just kept getting an error page.
Also, does this work on QVGA devices?
Do you mind trying it again? Just go to http://www.careace.net/dialerace and scroll to the bottom for the download link. And it is not current compatible with QVGA.

Yup, I can D/L it now. But... I have to wait for a QVGA version. Hopefully soon though.
This looks wonderful. Can't wait to see how well the algorithm works. Patiently n excitingly awaiting a QVGA version too.
How amazing this would be at 2AM leaving a bar when a list of all the favorite people whom you love drunk dialing to instantly appear only a touch away =P.
Some of you guys better watch out if your wife/gf/potential gf/etc opens up DialerAce late at night showing you all your booty call contacts hahahah.
Signing up now. Fortunately I don't have to wait as I have an i910.
Don't forget participating in the survey. We really want to listen your voice so that we prepared some rewards. Yet, the participants are still so small that you have bigger chance to win the prize($25 Amazon gift card; we still have more than 12 copies).

thanks for nice application is this possible to get dialerace 3d on my wqvga device (omnia-1)....if yes give me link....
looks nice - but how do i search for a contact which is not on the 16 contacts shown? (i have 1000 contacts)
Nice concept! Tried it on my HTC HD. Installed just fine, but I didn't get the 3d-view-button on top. The scrolling could be a bit smoother and some animations would be nice.
Cheerio
can we have support to port the application To QVGA 6.5.x roms ..i hope u must be getting what i am trying to convey..
fortunately this is really a Cool application which will change the way people till now used their age old Phone Dialer just to DIAL>
I download the Beta2 and right away upon launch it said it has expired.. LoL! What gives?
