Help, my Atom Life is stuck in the upgrade screen and won't turn off or anything unless I do the procedure for HARDreset.
It then still returns to that screen it shows while upgrading.
What do I do?

BTW, I did the upgrade on a XP session in a VMware workstation 6 virtual session under Vista x64 and it even worked fine.....
Yeah I did mine on a vista laptop. LUCKY!!!!
Hmmm actually it doesn't seem to let me connect to my wireless modem at home anymore. What settings do I need to change?
All I use the wifi modem for here is the internet on my PDA and laptop. It is unsecured and always shows up but I can't get anything in the browser or get a ping to work. The self diagnostic works fine too, and everything worked fine before I upgraded the ROM.
Any help?
Fixed! YAYYY!

Hi,
There is a tool which should help! It worked for me. It's called UNI_ExitBootloader
(ftp://xda:[email protected]/Universal/Tools_and_Programs/uni_exitbootloader.zip)
1. download the tool
2. disconnect USB cable from your device
3. disable USB connection in ActiveSync
4. reconnect USB cable
5. wait some 30 seconds
6. run the tool
7. If successful, device will boot itself.

Super duper!
Been having sleepless nights. Thanks a lot for your solution. Worked like a charm!
Dam not work with win7 64bit, you have another solution?
Doesn't work in vista or 7
How to disable ActiveSync?
When I connect my HP to PC it recognizes as "HP USB Sync".
I tried to disable that thing in Device Manager, but still getting error from "uni_exitbootloader" program (cannot open usb port... and so on)
What can I do? Please, urgently need advice!
P.S. I firstly tried to update it's rom to english, with sable ruu, got error something like "fail to initialize"; and then my hw6915 stuck in the bootloader screen. tried hard reset, but after "clear ok" it just got back to that HP screen.......
EDIT --> I have just found out that these all methods doesn't work with Windows Vista or Windows 7, so I'm going to get to my brother's computer with XP soon to try another time
So every time you do the flash rom will have to borrow your brother's computer ??
why do not you use WMDC 6.1 for Windows Vista that also supports and works in Windows 7 ??
try to check at http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=14

Another cool thing, that i have just flashed it with uk rom successfully, with xp.
btw, the computer with xp is half-mine not only brother's.

Your in bootloader mode. You may be able to resolve the problem by removing the battery and letting it set of a few hours. This will run down the backup battery and kill the memory, or try a hard reset. However, you will lose all you data. Try reading some of the posts on this website. Good luck...

HI....Bro I have the same situation like you when upgrading the firmware using vista. It just killed my alpine and then only show serial. I used mtty program and set 14 0. You have to disabled the activesync setting for no usb connection when upgrading the firmware using UpgradeUt_noID. Windows vista really sucks big time when upgrading firmware. I just revert back to XP where it is more stable.
Thanks
Still no joy, but thanks for the replys.
Vista came with lappy and as its still under warenty i can't downgrade to XP.
Does not seem to want to hard reset, Left it with battery out all night.
Getting worried now!
Any other sugestions would be welcome.

there is one VERY easy way, take the update files/dock/xda2i to a friends house and use there xp machine, job done, or take it to work with you and do it there. no worries. as long as its still in boot loader mode you will not have a problem.

Hey All,
I just got my TyTn and decided to upgrade to WM6 - after that my PC never recognized the device - allways says "USB Device Not Recognized". Digged all over, and don't have a clue.
I am using Win XP SP2.
Does someone can help me?
Thanks in advance.
try going to >settings>connections>usb to pc>'uncheck' enable advance network functionality.
Ensure you are running ActiveSync version 4.5 which is available for download from:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/activesync/activesync45.mspx

Hey All,
after a few hours going back and forth it worked
I forgot that I was running a windows device, and I had re-started the computer a few times, but after the OS Upgrade I hadn't turned it off and on.
So that's the solution: boot the device. After upgrade the OS to WM6, turn off for real and turn it on again. It'll might work
Problem with the upgrade tytn to wm6

get activesync 4.5
Any solutions? my computer will recognize at first but then it says not connected and wont let me acess the files on my wing. Im using Windows Vista btw.
Can somebody help me with this problem?
I am using vista also.. try soft reseting it.
I tried soft resetting it and hard resetting it and it still doesn't work. Now I'm contemplating ever getting Touch It 2.3
Try going in settings->connections->usb to pc and either check it if its not checked or uncheck it if it is checked
Mine did this too last week. Reflash your phone with the official Tmobile RUU posted in the forum.
My steps were:
-Go into bootloader mannually (camera button plus voice command button and finally with those two press, click in the hole (between memory and volume key) with your styles)
-After it seems that pc loaded up some kind of driver, double click on the official Tmobile RUU and flash your phone to stock form.
this should work and goodluck...
I've connected my Wing on my friend's computer and it's recognized by his ActiveSync but its Windows XP he's using. Is there any way i can reinstall or change some settings on my computer so that it can recognize my Wing again? I really prefer the windows xp activesync over the windows vista version but theres no way of getting the old activesync on vista.
Finally!! I fixed the problem! I had to install version 6.1 from microsoft's website, and everything is good now. thanks for the help everybody.
do you have the link to that update im having the same problem
nm i got it, thanks for the solution though
I've been trying to update my Wing from the T_Mobile stock wm6 ROM to a Cooked wm 6.1 rom since and i can't do the damn thing
Alright Everytime i try any ROM, Open Touch, Touch-IT, even the official HTC Rom i get the error 260, what do i do???????
Please help, your help is highly apreciated.

I have tried to do Hard-SPL before but that has the same problems. So this this i was using USPL.
I guess i'll just give up.
As the 77 people who saw this thread couldn't help me and my 5ooth attempt at ROM Flashing failed, i guess i'll just give up and stick with my T-Mobile ROM, .
try a different cable, make sure your phone is connected to activesync before you start

I tried all of that and it works smoothly until the white screee. But once i get the white screen on the phone and the Update Utility tries to connect to my phone, things mess up. The Utility says that it is facing error 260: Not connected.

It's your computer, not your phone. Are you running Vista or XP? (Or ME/98)

I am using XP Home Service Pack 2. I am not the Administrater of the computer. .net 3.5 is installed if that matters.
