XdaDev Battfix. What does this cab do? - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Hi, I'm currently developing the wm6 for charmer and I have one question for you guys. We previously had a problem with USB charging - when you plugged the phone with the usb it did not charge at all. So I found this xdadev_battfix.cab and it all started to work.
I would like to know what's in this cab, what does it actually do? Inside it there is only a .dll and .exe.
Any help would be appreciated. I enclose the cab here.

USB / MP3 use

Hi,
My new carradio has this nice USB port, so with a MP3 stick I can listen to my music. Now if I connect my QTek 9100 to this USB port it is only loading up the Qtek (which is also nice) but is there a way to play these MP3 of my Qtek via the USB port on the radio?
Thanks

this will turn your phone to look like a virtual USB drive.
Looks good, but what now?
Hi Hanmin,
Thanks for your reply!
Well, I very stupid beginners question but how can you install this .cab file?
I unzipped the cab file on my PC and transferred it to the Qtek, but that it.
Thanks.
Jan
Transfer the cab file to your Qtek and run it from there, no need to unzip
Thanks for your reply. I keep on learning every minute.
Thanks again it really works good!

cannot sync my qtek9000 anymore

Hello there from Italy.
I posted this because of a problem that is driving me mad since some weeks. first my data.
pc:
win xp sp3
outlook 2003
active sync 4.5
qtek 9000:
win 5
sbsh phoneweaver
sbsh iLauncher
memmaid
sprite backup
The problem is that when I connect my qtek to the pc via the usb cable the pc tells me that it had a problem installing the new hardware. After that no active sync is coming out and thus no syncronization.
It is definitely a pc bug since I can syncronize my qtek in other pc.
Following some italian forum I uninstalled all usb controllers and things but had no success.
I'm desperate. Can you please help me?

Guys...................no one really can help me out?
C'mon, this is a giant leap for me but a small step for you...............
Michael
Did you uninstall/re-install ActiveSync? If not, try that.
If you have and that didn't fix it, try going to Start > Settings > Connections > USB to PC and untick "Enable advanced network functionality" then try again.
Thanks Nanoruler for your quick response.
Yes, I did try to reinstall AS 4.5 plus I have no icon for USB to PC connection in my qtek 9000.................what's going on here?
Thanks............
Michael
Try running the attached CAB
Nanoruler,
thanks a 1000 for your help. Not being a nasa computer expert, can you tell me what is the cab attached and how to use it?
Thanks in advance
Michael

Depend if you´re using Vista or XP
Vista: Windows Mobile device Center
XP: Active Sync 4.5
Just google it, download and install
Good luck,
ok. I gave it a try, but nothing new happened. I want to think it is not the usb switch fault but my lack of knowledge. Since I don't know how to install it, I clicked on the xml file. An IE page opened wanrning me of the threat running activex commands. I accepted it and clocked on run. After that I tried to hook my qtek but, as mentioned, nothing happened.
Did I install it the proper way?
please let me know about it.

Michael, just copy usbswitch.cab to an SD card, and then find it on your Uni using File Explorer and click on it. It will then install.
Hi Jon and a milion thanks: finally someone who guided me through. Gosh, after all it didn't take that much, uh? All it took was your words.
really really thank you
Michael

Problem with Wing and ACTIVESYNC!

Hey guys,
I have came to the conclusion that i need to make a thread, because i have search all over this forum for an answer.
Here is my problem, I currently have not been able to activesync my wing to my computer. Now i have done all the basic steps to try to correct this. Uninstall/Reinstall activesync 4.5 on my computer, didn't work. Checked all my settings for activesync on my wing and on my netbook, nothing irregular. Here is what im seeing. On my wing with i selevt sync in the activesync program a grey bar flashes at bottom but it flickers and disappears. it looks like the loading bar but not for sure.
My specs:
Rom version: 4.17 ASERG Lite4.e WWE
Radio: 03.08.90
Any help would be appreciated, because i cannot reflash my wing to another rom. If there is any other way to flash please inform me as well.
Again in advance thanks for everyone's help!
Jason
You may want to look into flashing one of ivanmmj's roms, I believe they flash from the micro sd card.

Newbie wants WM6

Hello there,
Ive been running around this forum since yesterday night trying to change my qtek2020 from wm2003 to wm6. But there's a lot of dust in the air... to much information, most of it very old, so... here's where i am right now.
1-I've downloaded a rom ( a nb.nbf file)
2- donwloaded a program called HimaUpgradeUt_noID.exe, that I know it's used to install the roms.
But now, I connect the ppc to the usb cable (in vista) and run humaUpgradeUt_noID.exe, select the .nbf file and "next" it, but it always to no success.
I've tryed booting the qtek in "bootloader mode" but all I see is a "Serial v1.03" screen and nothing happens, even when connected.
So, can anyone give me a turorial on how to do this?
Thanx
the rom packets should include a readme.txt which should give a step by step guide
Thanx for your reply.
The problem is that I can't connect to my laptop on bootloader mode.
When turned on, it can connect to my laptop, but in bootloader mode it doesnt, the pocket stays in the "serial v1.03" screen.
Nevermind... solved,
As simple as... removing the SD card... LOL
The SD card is never the reason in upgrading the device using vista.

WM 6.1 on SDA Music (Amadeus) no USB

Hi everyone! I would like to flash my SDA Music from WM2003 to 6.1. I found the ROM already, downloaded and unzipped it to a separate folder, read the Howto carefully, but if i try to run mtty.exe, it doesn´t offer me USB-connection, only serial. Am i making something wrong or what is the reason for this? If anyone has an answer to this problem pleas tell me in this forum. Thank you all!
Hubie53
Before MTTY can use USB, you have to disable it for ActiveSync.
