1st u need program (activesync) to install files on your PDA cause files that have extension with exe. need that tool to install, u can't just copy file on the PDA and then run them , exept they have extension like cab.
So get your activesync (if u don't have it go to microsoft and find it)
connect via cabel, ird, bluetooth... and do it !
hope it helps

yes i did, first on my storage card and then i copied it to my documents folder, but the setup.exe doesn't do anything when i tap it.
Hi,
Just connect your device via Act.Sync to your PC copy the exe file to your PC, if you haven't done so, and run the exe file on your PC. This is th usual way to install new applications.
Good luck, M

The other option is to download the CAB file (if available). Then you can copy the CAB file to your device, click on it and it will install.
The only issue when installing CAB files this way, they generally install into the default location on your PDA (normally into RAM or main memory). If this isn't an issue then no problem but if it is you can download and install a program called "CAB Install" from here http://www.s-k-tools.com/fp/viewtopic.php?t=44
Run this app and you can then install your CAB files where ever you want.
I downloaded the new ROM from i-Mate and was hoping in the zip file was a big CAB file, but found it was an exe. I've been searching around trying to figure out how to update by K-Jam from an iBook, but can't find anything concrete.
Is there way to do it, or do I have to use a PC? I have a PC at work, but I'm in Germany right now and really don't want to brick my phone while I'm here. I have bluetooth on my iBook and could use that...maybe. Should I just wait and upgrade when I get home to my PC?
Thanks for the help.
Tom
Best answer.....wait.....
Even using the Windows emulator under the Mac OS wouldn't be a neat idea...
you need PC.. and PC only
I have a Mac and there is no way to do this upgrade from it.
You cannot use VPC as WM5 devices cannot connect to VPC, there is no cab file.
You MUST have a PC.
Sorry.
Robin
Well, I guess I'll wait then.
Thanks for the inputs!!!
Tom
Can someone upload the INF file for using the Wizard as USB modem in Windows XP/2000? I left my bluetooth dongle at home and need to use my laptop to upload data. Thanks!
Here's the .inf. Because you cannot upload .inf files to this forum i have zipped it
TIP: i've put this file on my storagecard and together with WM5storage, i can always acces it
Thanks for the QUICK response! I did not enjoy posting that original message request on my Wizard.
This is what makes this site great, I've always found the best support here ever since I owned the Wallaby in 2002.
Hey guys!
Is it somehow possible to connect with my PDA (HTC Hermes) to my PC to browse the harddisk oder search files?
But I search an solution that works over USB or another port, not over WiFi (like TotalCMD ftp).
Is there such a programm or tool? Or does it has to be developed?
PS: Found some stuff like that as addons for Total Commander but only for connections from PC to PC.
Greetings

Hi everyone! I would like to flash my SDA Music from WM2003 to 6.1. I found the ROM already, downloaded and unzipped it to a separate folder, read the Howto carefully, but if i try to run mtty.exe, it doesn´t offer me USB-connection, only serial. Am i making something wrong or what is the reason for this? If anyone has an answer to this problem pleas tell me in this forum. Thank you all!
Hubie53
Before MTTY can use USB, you have to disable it for ActiveSync.
