that´s what he wrote =)
I've been to the hardware store in UK lately, and I've noticed that they have such a wonderful variety of spray paint. They aren't the old fashion glossy type of spray paint, but they can emulate variety of texture. You could have the normal classy plastic air-pressed effect, rough good grip effect, stone effect, etc.
I don't have a wizard, but if the paint really irritates me and I happens to know how to get that particular part off, I might just give it a try.

kjam users dont seem to have this problem, it seems that imate uses other materials to manufacture the cover of the phone.
it is really strange to sell f300 phone with that cheap cover!!! even most basic phones dont wear out so fast!!! when I hold my mini s for a long period i see the black painting on my hand and I really get mad!!!
sooooooo stupid o2!!!
Lol dont know what happened there - i wrote 'most people scatch the paint off'

You can buy new housings on eBay. It's a bit fiddly to change but not impossible.
Can anyone, please, confirm that white Trinitys are not peeling... I would like to buy the original white housing and it's not that cheap just to find out that it peels as well.
Thank you!
I have a white Trinity for about one year and no peeling.
Thanks again! That's what I needed to hear.
Also one year no peeling with WHITE.
I have black for 3 months....and no peeling
The FD do you keep it in a case all the time, or one of the silicon type cases ( goes around the phone to protect corners and edges ) ?
No I carry it around in my trouser pocket all the time. Everywhere I go it goes. I do look after it, I never have anything else in the pocket. No keys or coins. But never in a case.
It shows no sign of the paint peeling. 3 of us at work got the same phone all black and none of them show any sign of peeling.
White trinity here, for about five months and no peeling at all, no scratch either (the white material don't scratch).
No peels, no scratches, on white ones? How come they insist on selling only black ones (HTC branded) in Europe? I really take care of mine but that is of no influence - it peels terribly. Now it looks like it got some skin disease or something. I've never seen such a problem on any other non-Trinity device ever.

Maybe because European sales executives think it fits more the local taste. Especially for male users or professionals.
But it's a matter of fact: the white one is like the plastic itself is just a kind of varnished white material, while the black one is like a thin lay of black paint pasted on top of another material. Therefore there is no way to scratch or peel the whites, while the blacks are so fragiles.
Those sales executives suck. They've never heard that, for example, Nokia makes a fortune on exchangeable covers...

Had a black one: peeling after 3 month. Had a second black one: peeling after 3 month.
Have a white one now for more than 3 month (which I bought from a guy in switzerland, not really europe in terms of political matters but geographically it's definitly europe... )
no peeling at all, no fingerprints, no (visible) scratches.
Get a white one if you can.
if somebody is interested in buying a used white one please pm.
White is perfect
Just switched to white. Perfect housing !
Go for it !

Sure is, you can buy spare parts from here:
http://cnn.cn/shop/p3600-trinity-c-277_278.html
BTW, the white case I have (From Orange UK) is actually a white plastic inner case covered with a clear plastic case, so it's not painted and therefore won't ever 'peel'

I wanna paint my Wizard. It's got more wear than a 50-year old prostitute. Can anyone give me some tips as to protecting the screen, buttons, and camera lens as well as using a certain kind of paint? Thanks.
I have also been thinking of doing the same and downloaded the Wizard Service guide thinking I would disassemble, paint and then reassemble. I did this in particular because I also hoped to fix the slider which has become loose and the wizard opens on its own and sometimes gets stuck when shifting between potrait and landscape. But the process is just too much to handle and will need heavy studying of the manual.
Befor you should know how to put your mobile in parts. It's explain on this website :
http://www.ce4you.cz/articles/detail.asp?a=263
good luck
Well I was just thinking using masking tape and spray paint of some kind; no dissassembly required. But fixing your slider problem... maybe should be put in a separate thread.
And yeah... these parts are very delicate. I wouldn't want to dissassemble this thing.
I really want to paint my Wizard too, I was thinking about painting the whole thing black. I'm not afraid of taking the device apart, but I have doubts about the paint. Isn't it just gonna fall off like the oruiginal paint did? What paint are you going to use? Please update this thread if u succeed and tell us how did you do it (and what paint did you use)

I would think that if you painted then put a shieldzone on it would protect your new paint nicely. Any thoughts?
there was a previous thread in the upgrading section, i think it was "badbert" who posted a ford GT look on his wizard, and he even included tips, how and what he used
opps sorry, it was the clear case he painted, but check it out
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=306568&highlight=badbert
lol - without disassemble the wizard will look like a piece of sh**. In addition you have to know something about painting. Its not like just spray with a cheap can of paint. After two weeks the painting will be of.
I know that because i've painted a lot of stuff (like cars, PC's and so on)
I started off with an Audiovox SMT 5600 and bought a dummy phone on Ebay for $8.00. Took apart both and used the dummy phone's casing and it turned my Audiovox into a brand new phone.
Maybe you could find a dummy Wizard or a Wizard with a broken screen on the Cheap and use the casing to bring yours back to snuff?
Now I have the HTC TMO Wing -- You can buy the battery cover back door on Ebay for around $10.00. I bought two of em. So now when I **** up the finish - just replace the door which essentially half the phone.
Okay so I ordered a back aluminium case on eBay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220167294721
This case has exceeded my expectations. Only though....the LCD portion of the case is protected by a plastic cover where as.... I was expecting just a knockout like all the other parts of the aluminium. I still don't know, if this is a plus or not, because while it does protect the screen, I was hoping to at least use the touch screen while its in the case, but at least I know its fully protected. Another feature which made me just love this case even more was the fact that the belt clip could be screwed with the phone being inside, many other cases either have a fixed belt clip (clumbersom) or if you want to use the belt clip you have to screw on a disc, and prep it. With this case you can screw the disc in 2 seconds and do not need a screwdriver or any other tools, it's truly quick fit, screw on, screw off.
One note: the finish I ordered is BLACK which can be seen from the pictures, it also comes in Silver, now it has some sort or tactile finish to it, kind of that powder coated, scratch resistant feel. I don't think the Silver version will be like this, I am sure you will see the natural brushed grains of Aluminium. I still don't know if I should have hosen the Silver. I hate scratches and i figured Black doesnt show scratches and I like Black, although I do love Natural Aluminium too, but I was afraid of scratches and if it appeared cheep, luckily though I am giving one of these cases as a gift so I am going to order the Silver one and choose which one I like better and give the least as the gift.
In any case the powder scratch resistant coating on the Black version is awesome and If after a week I feel the plastic cover that protects the LCD prooves to be of a bother I think I will have to knock it out.
In the pictures you will NOT notice that there is a Plastic cover... I know I have said this numerous times, you may thank me alter on for warning you.
Another thing that impressed me was the box the case arrived in, and the cotton wrap the case was wrapped in... exactly how my Louis Vuitton wallet shipped, very impressed, they really paid attension to the details down to the box.

I have to ask you about your 2nd pic showing the back side though ... what is that blueish frame around the camera area ???
It also looks to me that your device's back side is not of black colour to begin with ?? mine is a TyTN II & I don't have that ... it is totally black ...
Probably it's because your device is another variation of the Kaiser ??
BTW ... I also got the same black case arrived yesterday too

That blue part on the camera is just a protective film that is sometimes put on the silver panels to protect them from scratching. It is kind of like a sticker (but not quite so sticky), and it can be easily removed.
How heavy is it compared to the original one?
Regards,
Carty..
looks pretty good.. but does it make the power button harder to push than it already is?

well that answer one thing ... but...
if you look at the back of that device ... it's silver or lighter colours exposed where the opening of the back are ( 4 shorts & 1 long lines ) ...etc
that made me thought of other variations of the device. Since I owned a black TyTN II, that's all I know to go by ... is it's completely black at the back ... not like the pic.

lol
upon closer look of the 4th pic ( D-Pad & buttons )... I now realized that it's NOT a TyTN II after all
That is odd, its not blu its the same color as everyone elses, I have the T-Mobile version which is not black, its gunmetal but the camera plate, is the same color as your, somehow the flash caused a blue tint.

Not really, but I prefer the Hermes (TYTYN) switches to the Kaiser anyday, I also miss the loss of that extra button next to the Power button.

that is so funny man, I always used to miss it too feeling around, especially when it was in my car holder, I am so used to the Hermes (TYTN) that I am feeling around for a second before I find it.
BTW did anyone else have the problem of the sliding? If you owned a TYTN then you will knwo what I am talking about, the slide is in the opposite direction, it takes tiem to get used to.
hey does the front plastic shield bother you? Do you fidn youself forgeting tis there atempting to touch the screen lol
