Wireless Problems - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

I bought one of these
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SDIO-WiFi-PDA...2QQihZ009QQcategoryZ58542QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
For my SPV500 and I have got it working all fine with my wireless and I can stream videos and music e.t.c from my pc. Problem is is that the wireless randomly stops working. I loose my connection and the settings>Network adapters funcion does not respond, neither does the "Connected to Icon", the moment I eject the card it all springs to life?
Does anyone know the problem?
Thanks

Connecting to Wireless LAN Automaticly?

Hello,
I have a PC and laptop running off a wireless LAN and i was wondering how i can get my O2 Exec to connect to it automaticly?
Thanks
I don't think you can make it magically connect when it is in close proximity (like Bluetooth car kit or whatever) and to have the wireless always on would drain the battery anyway, but I have a similar setup at home and after the first time I connected to my WLAN I can now do so simply by turning on the wireless connectivity on my device (which I do by cicking on the notification icon in the title bar). It takes practically zero time to do this.

Please help me get activesync to stop disconnecting

Ok, ive got activesync working fine on one of my pcs but on the other it disconnects after about 3 mins. both have identical software antivirus/firewall-wise the only difference is one has a hardware modem/wireless router(the non-working one) and the other uses a wireless usb hub to connect to the internet.
Ive tried pulling the ethernet cable from the back of the non-working pc to no avail, disabling windows firewall etc but nothing stops it disconnecting after about 3-4 minutes.
Ive tried all the suggestions regarding tcp/ip, they were already correct as were the dhcp ones.
im completely baffled by this
the wmstorage program works for a bit longer but gives the error "the device is unavailable due to an i/o error" after about 5 minutes
anyone have a clue why this is happening?
Odd question to ask. Is your unit set to switch off after 3 mins? Just check if the device is on/off (you can have the backlight off, but you should able to see something on the screen) when the activesync disconnect.
on battery power its set to 2 mins but on external (usb?) its unticked. it works ok on the other pc though thats the thing so i assume its a pc settings issue
As you plugged into the PC directly (not through a USB Hub)? USB hubs have been known to cause problems.
im using a usb extension cable straight into the usb 2.0 card , the only other device is a printer and the keyboard which share a usb hub on another port.
The cable works fine with other devices ie digital camera/camcorder so its not a faulty cable.
Im using a hub on the pc that works (and its only usb1.1) and it shares with the wireless dongle
One thing i did used to get while transferring data was the avg email scanner popping up while my ipaq (which worked fine) was connected. i disabled the email scanner to see if it helped and rebooted but it was no different
ok-think ive fixed it-the (brand new) usb cable must have been faulty cos i connected the mda cable straight into the pc and it worked
thanks for all your help

USB Connection Problems

Hi,
I'm using DCD 3.2.6 and I've tried the standard windows mobile connection and both nue Mass Storage and Cardstick export. Whenever I connect my phone via USB I get constant "Do you want to scan and fix removable device" messages. Then it disconnects and connects intermittently.
Is this a hardware issue with my USB? I Suppose I can live without USB connections, it's just kind of annoying not to be able to use it as a card reader which it previously did very well. (It seems to have started having issues when I went from 3.3.4 to 3.2.6).

No streaming without sync usb cable connected

Hi guys,
I tested on my D2 Coreplayer and Kinoma. For both, every thing was fine until I disconnected the usb cable from sync connector. Well ... running clearam and softreset several times were necessary for being able to launch again the players.
Also, after several tests, I noted that I was unable to get any streaming conncetion without sync usb cable or with earphone connector.
Where does this issue comes from ? Any idea ?
Thks
I'm a bit puzzled, are you saying the cable just has to be plugged in (but not actually connected to anything) or it has to be plugged in and connected to your PC in sync mode? You seem to imply that even plugging in the earpiece solves the problem?
Also, where are you trying to stream from (a PC on your local network, or the internet)?
Haha, you are funy guy Well ... of course is the cable pluget somewhere
Let's do it again ... the pocket was connected to the laptop in sync mode during I was installing and testing several streaming player for .pls files.
Everything worked fine and for any reason I decided to close my work. 3 sec after I pluged the cable from the pocket out, streaming stopped. This happened each time I was running this test. This happened with all players even wmp. Also ... with any cable connected to the laptop in sync mode i am unable to connect to those website for streaming. It looks like the laptop made the buffer ! I know ... amazing but it's the true !
Memory was a bit overloaded at 75% to 80%

Stupid question, but do you have setup an Internet connection on your Topaz?
If yes, is there a proxy setting? If yes, try without.
How does the streaming applications you tested connect to the streaming server? Can you setup the connection type in the options of the streaming application?

Hi thanks for your help.
There is no stupide question in such cases ... Yes I have setup a internet connexion with proxy but thoses one from provider. And to late to remove proxy setup. I flashed again the rom.
But good question ... how does streaming applications connect to the net ? Thru the topaz ... and how does the topaz conect to the web ? Maybe thru the cable (data switch transfert was on) as it was supposed to connect thru HSPA/EDGE/GPRS ... Does topaz manage any priority in internet connection ? Need to improve this test .... later
however strange
Meanwhile I have to solve something else with the new rom ... erro 403 with Internt explorer (access denied) See here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=546931 It nevers stops

HDMI connected and WIFI not working!

When I connect my HDMI cable to my Eeepad the wifi stops working!
anyone else gets the problem?
No problem with that here.
Weird, sometimes that happens to me. I think it makes the wifi signal worse is what it does. How is your signal before you plug it in?
this is exactly what is happening to me. when i dont have the hdmi cable plugged in i get full speed (14 mbits with speedtest). when i plug in the hdmi cable the internet stops working. tried doing a speedtest and it gets a network error.
also, my hdmi connection is only working at 720p, not 1080p. i have official 3.1 installed and the latest dock firmware as well.
any ideas guys?
I would contact Asus (use the US tech support e-mail, don't call their call center) and let them know what you are seeing. I read some had greater success e-mailing them.
A few things to note/think about:
Are you using the docking keyboard?
Are you using a certified HDMI cable?
Does moving the tablet with respect to the display ahve any effect on the wifi signal?
(to get a better feel on the wifi signal strength, I have been using free app wifi analyzer)
Are you getting 1080p out or just 720?
