Display like a Windows 8bit colors - JAMin, XDA Neo, S200 General

Hi everyone,
Before all, sorry for my poor english.
Welle here is my problem :
My Prophet's display looks like a 8bit color windows. I tried to upgrade it with the latest official rom but the problem stays. Here is my config:
IPL/SPL 3.08
Rom 2.20.7.37
Radio 02.47.21
Can anybody find me a solution?
Thanks a lot

Have you drop your device? Or Water is running inside your Device?
If yes your Display Driver (not software driver ... mean Hardware level) is damage or the flexcabel to the display are broken. This error is possible if a dataline or adressline is cut.

Thanks for your answer. I can't tell you if it has been dropped. It comes from [email protected] Else is it possible to find a software issue? (If the hardware works I mean)

Use a screen capture software, capture your PPCs screen, and view it at your PC. If it is still 8-bit-ish, it is software.
Else, you can do a remote control (PC control PPC), and look at the scren at your PC, see if it is 8-bit-ish.
Do a screen capture and a photograph of your PPC and post it here.

Screen Capture is a good way ... if you doesnt see the error on the screenshot ... jow i need a damage device to exploide some solutions.

HTC Hermes/TyTN lists only [email protected] in DirectShow

Hi all,
I just got a TyTN and was instantly very impressed with the camera's quality. So i tried my DirectShow camera library which I know to run fine on the HTC Wizard/Universal/Tornado devices, but I immediatelly realized the following problem:
When i enumerate the camera modes on the TyTN, the only mode i get is 160x120, 7.5Hz, YUV12. While my lib can play that back without problems, I'd rather acess those modes with higher resolution and framerate.
Looking at the built-in camera tool and comparing the video quality againt other devices I'd guess the preview runs at 320x240 at 7.5 Hz (video quality of the preview is really great). I already checked that this is the higher quality camera on the back side and not the low quality camera on the front side.
Is HTC trying to block us from using the more advanced camera modes via DirectShow or am i missing something here?
thanks for any hints,
Daniel
Hi,
Sorry to disturb your thread
But I was wondering if you know if it's possible to re-flash the HTC TyTN to an English firmware.
Currently I have the French version of the HTC TyTN with an azerty keyboard and french language.
I would like to keep the azerty layout, but change the language to English.
Let me know if you have any experience with this.
Thanks
I have been reflashing and unlocking my HTC Universal which all worked fine, but i did not reflash the HTC TyTN yet - I already got it today. Since it is in english (the language i prefer for developing on it) i also have little reason to do so...
Still maybe anybody has an idea about the DirectShow issue?
Any experiences like that on other devices?
Daniel
I'm willing to bet you have a G4 flash chip in that TyTN. What's your IPL/SPL rev level?
On the camera.... is there any chance that DirectShow is enumerating the front camera instead of the back? Perhaps it isn't properly coded for a device that actually has two cameras.

that was also my first thought, although even that camera can do more. but streaming out the pictures i read from the camera confirms that it is the back camera.
maybe you are right and there is a bug in the DirectShow driver of HTC. i never tried enumerating the 2nd camera, but maybe it is worth a try now...
Daniel
Hi, could you dump the english version to an image and upload it somewhere ? On the XDA ftp for example.
Or is that asking too much ?
> What's your IPL/SPL rev level?
Sorry to ask, but where can I find this ? The power+camera button solution apparently doesn't work with the HTC TyTN, or I'm doing it the wrong way.
General info:
ROM version: 1.18.256.2
Radio version: 1.03.03.10
Protocol version: 32.34.7010.01H
ROM ext ver: 1.18.256.103
That's all i could find.
Hope it helps.
when you first boot it, does it display the spl/ipl revision on the initial splash screen?
My ROM shows the following numbers
M05
S04
B05
R 1.03.03.10
G 32.34.7010.01H
D 1.18
i'm not quite sure how to read that and i never dumped a ROM yet. if you tell me how to do it i might give it a try...
Daniel
All the versions are the same for me too,
M05
S04
B05
R 1.03.03.10
G 32.43.7010.01H
D 1.18
But I'm currently also unaware of how to dump an image, tried using the same mechanism as for the other Qteks.
But holding the power + camera for 1 second, then releasing the power button, but still holding the camera button will do nothing.
Anyone got an idea ? Going to search around on the net to see if i can get more information.
Thanks
The world has changed, apparently!
Anyone have updates on this subject?
Seems that the front camera isn't listed on DirectShow...
Anyone knows a solution?
Thanks

Someone else had a similar problem a while back with their phone. The safety plastic film on the camera lens on the inside hadnt been removed when the phone was built.
Ths might be the same issue.
same problem with mine but i think it's dead pixels. definitely no film on mine.
You can send the device to HTC Europe who will estimate a repair for you.
Am planning to that with mine - as I have about 10-15 dead pixels with the camera, and i dont like the way the stylus falls out all the time (i dont want to put selotape round it), and i dont like the screen wobble!!!
Matt

need help my cingular 8525 all white screen

Hi,
i have cingular 8525, but when i turn on the phone :
1. no startup screen only white screen.
2. no startup sound.
3. cannot enter the bootloader.
when i try connect with pc no hardware detected.
really need advise, what steps should i do?
Thank your for your kind
I am having the same problem
Case 1 above does not sound like the hardware fault that can cause a white screen in which case the following may be relevant:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=286755
Case 2 above gives no details so we cannot tell if its software or hardware. The above thread may be relevant assuming it's not hardware.
The hardware fault normally shows by the phone booting as normal but the screen is white or goes white after some minutes.
If you post on the above mentioned thread, you MUST provide details or else folks may get upset as it means they have to ask a whole series of questions before trying to help!

White Screen
Try this: Hook it up by USB to computer and see it the video will pass thru ( try a sample version of "pocket controller" from SOTI software)......
Mine did this and the WHITE SCREEN required calling CINGULAR and they had to replace the machine , twice actually) ...
I think the problem originated from the use of the plastic case holder which when closed would sometimes get between the two halves of the unit and cause separation)
Ahhh yes prob solved.

Trinity camera sucks ?

Hi all. I`ve a trinity for a couple of yeras and now I need to use it camera...I found it is kind of useless. Is there any driver update or software that may improve my camera ?
I'm using a cooked ROM: 015TNYSXY radio 1.56.70.11

Camera program is Version 4.02 (Build 27035)
Thanks a lot and I hope someone will help me...

[Q] Screen colour problem

Hello. After I had to change the motherboard and the rigid flex board (and everything works fine) my screen started developing strange colour problems. It can't represent dark gray and dark blue correctly. I have uploaded a picture of my homescreen and a picture of a gamma test.
Here is the gamma test image on my phone, and here is the original. That is my homescreen and that is the image on it.
I have ruled out software issues because I reversed back to WinMo6.5, then to Android ICS NAND and then to Adnroid JellyBean on 4ext (with the accompanying radio, magldr etc.). I dissassembled the phone once more and checked the cable connection form the screen to the motherboard. Is it 100% certain that the screen is irreversably damaged? I think I know the bitter answer, but U just want to make sure

i fear it's damaged... i had a screen issue on my hd2, tried with android and with WM 6.5 but i had to send the device to HTC to get the issue fixed... now, after screen substitution everything works fine
it would be useful if you can provide a screenshot taken by the devices, so we'll understand how Leo thinks he represents colours
