help me!!! - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

I have a problem with the frontal camera of the tytn. suddenly it has stopped to work. I have tried hard reset without result. someone can help me to resolve the problem or must send the telephone in attendance? which can second be the causes you? there is a way in order to see if it is a problem software or hardware? thanks

If you've done a hard reset, it must be a hardware problem. I would send it back if it's still in warranty,
Joe

Sure.. Open it up, repair the camera yourself, close it. Fixed.

oh my God!

I have upgraded the bootloader of the tytn to the last version (2.10olipro) and the radio to the 1.41.xxx, if I send the telephone in attendance, is problems with the guarantee?

There should be no problems with the guarentee. They expect you to do update the phone.

Well updating using official updates is ok but with some providers they check for unofficial upgrades and may not be happy!
Mike

I have the same problem on SPV M3100!!!! no software solution found! I think is a hardware problem... But is a risk to open the pda by yourself!!!(even if could be a simple solution); let me know if you have good news...

what can happen if they notice that I have modernized the tytn with software off board?

Possibility of voiding the warranty, but search here to see if your supplier will check. Or wait til others reply here.
Mike

how it makes knowing if the service attendance ceck the software?

Well if you post here with your brand of Hermes eg TyTn or SPV etc and asking if anyone knows whether their warranty will be made void if non official ROMs have been flashed. I read somewhere but it could be wrong that Cingular in the US do not routinely check and warranty is not therefore affected.
Mike

I only have flashed spl and radio… tasks that are a problem? I have tytn Italy not brand

Well maybe it would be easiest to phone them up and ask if it's ok i.e pretend you have not done it yet and see what they say.
Mike

you already have just reason! creed that I will try to us! thank you so much!

If your device after reflashing of official version of ROM isn't starting up - something wrong with RAM or ROM(hardware) IMHO. Visit the Service Centre.
I had similar problems with my Atom. IT seems that there are some hardware issues that prevent Atom from starting in certain conditions. In my case, Atom freezes when I soft-reset using stylus and SR button. It defreezes if I take out battery and put it back, but in this case Atom looses time settings. In case I do softreset with program (like O2 plus) Atom restarts Ok and no problems at all.

Eurotwice repair service and WM6

I managed to reduce the screen-alignment problems of my TyTN using the credit card technique described in the wiki. However, it did not disappear completely.
I’m considering to send the device for repair. Repairs for Dutch customers are done by eurotwice.be
Off course like many others I upgraded my TyTN to WM6. Since the radio is also upgraded it wouldn’t make much sense downgrading the OS to WM5 because a radio-downgrade is not possible (correct me if I’m wrong here)
Furthermore: it would be a waste of time to downgrade it just for the screen (hardware!) repair, only to upgrade the OS after the hardware problem is solved.
Has anybody offered their OS (and radio) upgraded device for repair by eurotwice and –more important- did eurotwice made a problem of it?
If im thinking the same way as the service centre would, they would be more bothered about the modifications done with the credit card technique.
I sent my TyTN for repair with an updated ROM in it (and thus a newer SPL/IPL and Radio) It was a HTC ROM but not one found on thier site (there has been NO ROMS posted on thier site YET). They didnt even touch the ROM at all and fixed it no problems. Had I tried the credit card thing I think the story would be different.

I guess your correct.
The thing is: it did help to reduce the problem.
Just for the record: I didn't us use a creditcard but a piece of thin plastic. The kind which is used as cover when binding printouts
There's no 'outside' damage and no tampering with screws or anything else, but the probably notice something when they actually open the device?
I have contacted HTc about the screen alignment problem. they replied that i have to wait for the official wm6 rom upgrade which will be available from their website end july 2007. we r now end july and there is no wm6 download on their site! do any of u think that a rom upgrade to wm6 will help? or is this purely a hardware problem? i think that htc is pushing off the problem untill my waranty runs out!

WM6 upgrade is now available (as of 31/07) for all HTC eClub members.

i'd say its safe to send for repair,i dont think they will care about wm6 and the screen will have to be seperated from the chassis anyway which will obliterate ant signs of mod/repair

Problem with touch screen on Htc touch HD

Hello My touch Screen dosent respons when i press on it. It just happend when i had it in my pocket ?? some ideas? But if i hafe to change the touch screen do you know about some links how to do it. How to opnen the phone
My HD has the same problem. You can try and call HTC in your country. I've been told that HD has 27 months of warranty from manufacture date. You may still be under warranty
Assume that you have already tried doing soft and hard reset, haven't you?

The problem with hard reset is that after reset you get into "phone setup" mode where you set up time, operator, align screen and so on. But 1st thing your phone asks you after hard reset is "Touch the screen to continue" Since it does not respond to taps, you get stuck

If you have tried a hard reset and the screen doesn't respond during initial setup (where it says: tap the screen to continue setting up your device) it very likely is the hardware! I would have no other explanation!
Just to be sure, you could try flashing a different ROM - but I'm very sceptical, that this would make any difference...
Also, don't you still have warrenty on the device?

Hmmm... good question... Maybe the serial could be enough - but I'm not too sure HTC will admit that! By the way: HTC shouldn't need any proof at all since the phone was released last year - so noone can have a Blackstone older than 12 months, right? But again: I don't think HTC will take care of it that easily...
This is a good place to start for finding out your warranty status.
Go through the process - your digitizer is very likely to be the fault, which is hardware and is replaceable. But why would you want to do this at your own expense if your device is still in warranty?
If you have HardSPL installed, you'll need to revert back to stock SPL and ROM, otherwise HTC will reject your device as these pieces of software voild your warranty.
Good luck.
Good Day,
Thought I would add my thoughts to this as currently going through same thing. I managed to get the ROMs and SPL back to Stock, even downloaded latest ROM from HTC.com to see if this would make a difference but screen still not completely not working but very intermittent.
Phoned HTC Support 1200 Monday, UPS were scanning and picking up package 1500 Tuesday, phoned today 1100 Thursday and they have received it but there were no updates on the repair status

Speaker on the HD

Hi,
I have a problem with my HD. When I call someone people complain they can't hear me very well. I didn't had this problem with my old Touch Dual.
Can anyone help me to find a solution for this small but annoying problem.

Hi Manuel,
it sounds like a problem with your built-in mircophone so it could be a hardware related problem. Have you tried answering calls through a headset with microphone? Have you tried upgrading the firmware on your PDA, this may eradicate the problem.
Best Regards.

Yes mate that's precisely what I meant. The official HTC ROM upgrade you had performed was released in July last year. You could try unlocking your phone (via Hard-SPL or USPL) and then flashing to a custom ROM (6.1/6.5.x) as this will allow you to unleash the true potential of your HD. If you were to try this, I'm hoping one of the cookers ROMs may contain a fix in relation to your problem?
For more information on the latest builds, click here.
For information on unlocking your phone and flashing to a custom ROM, click here.
Note: under the assumption that it may also be a hardware issue, possibly with the microphone, have you considered maybe sending your phone for repair if it's under warranty? (if it is and you decide to return the phone, then avoid unlocking and flashing the phone before you send it back as it will not honour the warranty, and HTC will charge you).
I have not yet being able to locate a Registry fix for this but i think there may be one to adjust the sensitivity of the microphone... i shall keep looking for you.
Regards.

Thank you very much for keep looking for a fix. In fact, my phone is still under warranty and therefore I didn't want to install a new ROM because I'm afraid to loose the warranty. I was trying to avoid sending it to HTC because... this phone is almost a part of me can't imagine myself without it and its contacts, e-mails, web, etc... For work and personal use.

Camera problem

Hi com,
When i open my camera and switch to the video function a warning appears that says "Warning, Record failed" (its translated from german) and the camera app closes. "Normal camera" works fine. I can take pictures without some warning.
I would send it back to Samsung but the problem is, i've rooted the phone already.
I noticed, when i plug in my Beats, the camera still works. The cable of my beats have an microphone so i think the microphone of my handy is broken.
Sorry for my bad englisch btw ...
Thanks for helping
sounds like a hardware issue....even though your warranty is gone you should try and contact them and explain the situation.
Is this on stock rom?

Where did you buy this phone?
If you bought it from a carrier they most likely won't have the expertise or the competency to check if your phone is rooted

SOLUTION
"SOLUTION"
For everone who has the same problem, i flashed a custom ROM (Omega ROM in my case) and now the video camera still works.
It was no hardware issue because if the camera works why the video camera shouldnt work? I thought that the microphone had an issue because when i pluged in earphones with an microphone it worked. But it wasnt the microphone because it still worked when i was on phone.
Every now and then the Camera Failed message pops up when I try to use. A restart usually fixes it but at times I need it quick and a restart just takes away from the whole moment.
I bought the insurance with the phone from AT&T. Do I call AT&T, the insurance company or Samsung itself for a replacement due to the camera issue? I have a feeling if I call AT&T, they'll direct me to insurance but I don't think this is a insurance issue. Thanks
